  1. I also heard that we got a new head coach!
  2. Scheffler is substantially better than Schoumann. Ill bet if you ask Trent whom he would rather throw to on sunday it would be scheffler. TE is obviously not a top priority position, but its not like we are totally set at it either. We have a practice squad player in schoumann and a 4th rd draft choice rookie. If he could be had at reasonable price, he is absolutely an upgrade.
  3. Who is this Tebow character, and why have i never heard of him?
  4. While obviously Campbell isnt elite, Campbell>Trent 100% of the time.
  5. We need all the help we can get right now at QB, and gailey likes scrambling QBs so, I would be OK with this
  6. I guess not fitting the system was the wrong words, I guess i just think he may be the best trade bait we got for Baltimore, and may be relatively expendable if it meant we get our LT. I am 150% on board with a straight up 2nd for Gaither, but was trying to figure a way we could keep our 2nd and acquire him.
  7. 6'3, 220 lbs. ESPN's scouts inc. has him rated 6th best QB prospect in this class, behind Bradford, Clausen, McCoy, Pike and Tebow in that order. Anyone know anything about him? He is from Eastern Washington University (1AA), so obviously he didnt play against top tier talent. Last year his stats were passer rating of 156.46, threw for 3,830 yards and 33 TDs and only 6 picks. He seems to have the size, but I just havent heard anything about him. He has very good career stats as well, and nix likes that (again not D1 talent but still). Maybe a name to consider in later rounds. Here is a stats link for ya: http://espn.go.com/ncf/player/profile?playerId=171156 A little more from NFL draft scout: http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dspro...0&genpos=QB heres another interesting article on him: http://www.championshipsubdivisionnews.com...s-nfl-st?blog=2 Some other stuff I saw on him said he has very good arm strength and good accuracy. This kid didnt even get invited to the combine, but is now ahead of guys like Lefevour, Skelton and Jevan Snead. According to Scouts, inc. anyways. So, has anyone else heard or read anything on this kid, and if so what do you think?
  8. Excellent points. I agree Gaither is alot more valuable, just trying to figure out a way to get him AND keep our 1st and 2nd round picks. Probably cant happen though
  9. From ESPN: Orton might not have two of his top targets back in 2010. Restricted free agents Brandon Marshall and Tony Scheffler, both of whom ended last season in McDaniels' doghouse, are boycotting the team's offseason workouts and hoping opportunities open up elsewhere. "They're certainly going through a tough situation right now and I hope it works out for them one way or the other," Orton said. "But we'd love to have them. I'd love to have all of our best players and get ready to have a great season." Wonder what it would take to land him. Maybe Donte and a late pick? He would help out our offense quite a bit IMO. Not that im against or dont like Nelson, but Scheffler is good. And 2 TE wouldnt be a bad thing at all, especially if we keep captain checkdown.
  10. Trade Kyle Williams to Baltimore (and maybe a later round pick) for Gaither. I know Kyle is good, but Im not sold he will be of great use in a 3-4. Baltimore may be willing to do this trade though, as it would improve both teams IMO. Then at 9 we could grab Clausen. With #41 we could then grab a NT, maybe Cam Thomas (a little reach I know, but we NEED a NT, and he likely wont be there in rd 3). Trading down in rd2 would be ideal in this scenario, but i wouldnt be against him going here. OR we could use #9 on Dan Williams, and #41 on Colt McCoy, then we got 3 position needs locked up in 2 rounds. Of course were down K. Williams, but I think the improvements would negate his loss. Get a true 3-4 OLB somewhere and a G and another RT and I think we may be heading in the right direction for once! Questions? Thoughts? Different ideas? Lets hear em!
  11. It would definitely take a 2nd rounder to do this, maybe more. I am strongly on board with acquiring Gaither for our 2nd if we can do that. He is young, and can be a near premiere Tackle in this league. Then with 9 we draft clausen, and 3rd round draft our NT. Or better yet, trade down if possible and pick up a late rd 1st and late rd 2nd, then grab Tebow or Cody, and then draft the other between QB and NT with our newly acquired 2nd. Then we are well n our way folks. 3rd rd grab an OLB or WR, then draft the other in rd 4. take another tackle in rd 5 and suddenly we have ourselves a good young team guys.
  12. I get that the Bills suck, but statements like this are ridiculous. We pick 9th out of 32 teams, which means 8 teams were worse than us last year. Thats with no QB and no Oline, and a terrible coaching staff. This team really isnt that far off from being very competitive, certainly nowhere near a statement like this. Our D especially isnt bad, a few pieces and we may have a GOOD defense. Add a LT and QB to the offense and a NT to the D, and I think the addition of Edwards and Davis and the 3-4 switch will make us quite a bit better. I try to remain optimistic yet face reality, and I just dont see us being nearly as bad as some of you make us out to be.
  13. It said nothing of value really, just speculation we COULD be interested (obviously) because we need a LT and have a high 2nd round pick. it was mostly there just because of what chris brown said on Buffalobills.com. here is that link: http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2010/04/02/fan-friday-4-2/ I am all on board with bringing him in for a 2nd, and trading down as far as possible, My meaningless opinion is that this is a good draft to have alot of picks in, however Gaither IMO is better than all the tackles in this draft, aside from Okung and maybe Bulaga.
  14. If we drasft Clausen first, we need to trade #41 to Balimore for gaither. Heck, if we take anything besides a LT in rd 1, we need to do this trade, if indeed they would do it. Gaither >> Any tackle in rd 2-7 in all likelyhood.
  15. Thanks for the post. Dont mind some people around here, they like nothing more than to try and make you look like an idiot. Usually its people who start a post who dont have many, and if you dont spend 6 hours a day reading about the bills and posting it on TBD, that you are inferior to them. anyways, looking at possible trade partners id put SD and HOU at the top of the list, along with KC, PIT, GB and SEA who all need 2nd backs. That said, Id take what we can get for him. I highly doubt he is vacationing somewhere knowing full well that he has a new coaching staff, new system. Its not like he hasnt had MONTHS to go on vacation, and its not like Chan called an impromptu workout session. Lynch knew he should be here, and knowing his status with the team he made a conscious decision not to show up. Im not saying everyone who isnt here wants to be traded, but in the position he is in, it shows me he either has no commitment to regaining his starting role, or wants to be traded. Either way I say let him walk then.
  16. This draft would rock. However, I dont see Joseph lasting that long, nor do I see Washington or Barnes falling that low. If this happens, I would be very happy, but we get no QB help, and would rather have us trade #41 for Gaither and grab maybe Clausen if by some miracle he falls, or even mike Iupati. we get fox or washington to man the other side and then we have a line. and a QB or G as well. Our line would be Gaither Levitre Wood Iupati Fox/Green/Washington. Not too bad if you ask me.
  17. That would be ideal if the bills dont trade down
  18. I give this draft a D+. No Oline help, and another RB? before address ing QB or LT? no way. Not saying they wont be good players, but this is not a good draft for this team.
  19. I like this draft as well. The only problem is QB. I like Levi, but he likely will not solve the QB problem this year. If you are a TE believer, this is a real good draft. If you are with me, and may puke to see TE start another season for us, we need to address QB THIS year. Other than that, is a VERY solid draft!
  20. Swap AND their 2nd round pick, which is doable (maybe). if not throw in a player or late round pick and it would get done.
  21. Yeah If Norwood is gone, and i agree he may too, I would get a WR here. Maybe Jordan Shipley or Riley Cooper.
  22. We start off by trading our 2nd rd pick to Baltimore for Gaither. Pick 9 rolls along, and teams (hopefully) come a callin. We wind up trading down to #28 (I know its a big drop, but hear me out) and receive their 2nd (60) and Shawne Merriman. Maybe a dream, maybe not too far off if we add a player or lower rd pick. Anyways, we got our LT and an OLB and still have a 1st and 2nd round pick. so here goes: 1.(28): Tim Tebow/Terrence Cody: We would need to take Tebow this high in order to get him IMO, if hes even still on the board. I honestly think he may be gone, If he is we go Terrence Cody here and shore up the NT position. 2.(60): Cam Thomas/Jared VeldHeer: If we get Tebow we got to go NT now. Thomas is there, grab him. If not the Linval Joseph wouldnt be bad. If we get Cody in round 1, go OT again and grab Jard Veldheer. 3.(72): Dorin Dickerson, WR/TE, Pittsburgh: Big guy, could be a QB best friend. 4.(107): Eric Norwood ILB South Carolina: Need LB help still, this kid is good. 5:(140): John Skelton QB Fordham: If we get Tebow or Skelton is gone, grab best OL available here 6:(178): Best OLB available 6:(192): Best Player available here on out This for me would be a dream draft day, er weekend, for the Bills. We may ACTUALLY have a decent start to a winning team then. What say you?
  23. I got hammered for this same idea not too long ago... http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/index.php?showtopic=109641 Worth a look for league minimum? I think so
