It was a bad start. The defense looked good, and EJ showed some promise, but choking at the end of a game you should have won is never positive. This is the kind of game that builds the loser psyche.

I'd be more prone to this line of reasoning if I lived in your time zone, but in VA a pot conviction is something you don't want any part of. Particularly if the cops and court determine that it's not unreasonable to assume that you might well have intended to distribute it. Based on this I've changed my mind. I now think it should be more illegal and more aggressively enforced.

Is the death penalty too good for her?
Rob's House replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I don't recall the numbers exactly, but I know it's a significant portion of the pro-abortion crowd. This link isn't the best on the topic, but if you recall the 20 week ban that was defeated by a filibuster (a defeat much celebrated by the media), it wasn't just the fringe of the fringe supporting late term abortions. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/07/11/abortion-poll_n_3575551.html -

You must be wearing your serious hat today. You know damn good and well that there's a sizeable contingency that finds partial birth abortion perfectly acceptable. The only difference between that apple and this orange is whether they snuff the little mother!@#$er out before or after he breaches the birth canal. -

I don't get it. If she'd 86ed the little bastard before he made it out it would simply be considered a medical procedure, no different from removing a tumor. Why all the fuss? -
Is This Law Racist?

When zoomed out to a certain level of abstraction you can make your case sound completely unretarded. I guess I just got lawyered. -

You have obviously not spent enough time on the main board - "pessimist" is not the preferred nomenclature; "realist", please. Also, I don't mean to be dismissive of your disparate impact analsysis, you were just explaining how the law works. I was preemptively ridiculing others who might try to stretch that rationale too far. -
Kolb plays scared and is too Fragile for the NFL.

So in your expert medical opinion, you recommend players play through concussions? Also, what is your disability and how does it pertain to this discussion? -

Played through concussions? This explains so much. You should quit while you're behind. Calling someone like TE, who is scared to play the game, a kitty is one thing. Calling a guy who tries to play and gets injured often a kitty just speaks poorly of you. -

"Disenfranchise" as you've used it here, and as it is most commonly used in modern parlance, is no more than a buzz word used by blow-hards to circumvent a substantive discussion. No one is being "disenfranchised," and to say so is hyberbole at best. They are merely being required to prove their identity which is fundamentally different from disenfranchisement - and yes, I already got SOB's take on disparate impact <yawn>. And I find the argument that max participation is desirable to prevent unrest coming from a disenfranchised underclass unpersuasive. Not that I want a voter ID law for the purpose of weeding out the disinterested and uninformed, but I don't think we should go out of our way to make sure those that haven't the foggiest idea what's going on have an equally weighted say in what we do. When you have a federal government with ever increasing power and influence whose only check is the vote, it is not helpful to have a massive voting block that has no idea what's going on. Might as well govern with a Magic 8 ball or cut off a chickens head and do what the square the body lands in says. -

You've stated your premise - that more people voting is a good thing - twice without once supporting that premise. I don't for a second believe you and the left wing crowd give a flying !@#$ about greater representation. I think you know that the lazy, unintelligent, and uninformed vote will go disproportionately to Democrats, and that people without ID fall disproportionately into that category. Let's not pretend this is a principled stance you're taking. -
LB Nigel Bradham Charged with Majijuana Possesion

What I don't get is that there are products that allow you to smoke potent oil derivatives that are very discreet and give off very little odor. This guy's obviously well enough within the resources that he can smoke in style, so what's he doing smoking raw bud on the road? -
On account of all the glowing reviews here, I got The Drive By Truckers album "The Dirty South" (didn't think much of the title but figured it might be irony - I was wrong) and I gotta say I'm a bit disappointed. Musically they're not bad, but if I had to take a stab at why they never really hit big I'd say it's probably because they're such a downer. I don't imagine folks are often in the mood to listen to a bunch of depressing songs complaining about how much everything sucks. And that one guy's voice is kind of annoying too.

It's kind of like opening a wrapped present as opposed to seeing what Santa set up in the living room. If you do it right she'll snuggle up, look at you with those big brown eyes & seductively whisper "dirka dirka".

Thanks, man. I dig your style too.

I wasn't directing anything at Timmo. I was just reminded of people I once knew who took great delight in the belief that people who'd never done them wrong would suffer unspeakable torture for eternity for not getting on their holy bandwagon.

Science says BMW, Benz and Prius drivers are jerks

I heard the ventilation system of the next generation prius incorporates a seat cushion air intake. -
I don't tend to pay that crowd any mind, but the smug religious types that gleefully declare that they'll be in heaven while those who have the audacity not to believe in the holy mythology their parents raised them on will suffer eternal agony burning in hell are among the biggest douche bags our society has cranked out. I don't get as worked up about it as Gene because those people are pathetic and have no power to impact me anyway so I don't rail against them, but if I saw one of them on fire I wouldn't bother to piss on him to put it out either. (I might even chuckle that he got to sample the hell fire).

Improving Job Market
Rob's House replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I haven't been around much lately so forgive me if I'm validating a troll, but I can't help but chuckle at these stooges. After 5 years we get a modestly positive indicator and they're claiming vindication? With a straight face? I'm going to start using this tactic on my wife. -
Pete Rose makes a good point, he did get a raw deal, but consider the source. Baseball, particularly the Baseball HOF, has become a mockery of itself. That's what they get for giving the vote to a bunch of pretentious self-absorbed candy ass sports writers who know dick about the game. Cooperstown is on the fast track to becoming as relevant as Madonna's career since 1992.

Why no Super Bowl? Is this some sort of Canadian defeatism you're trying to spread to the rest of us?

That works. I just like to know my efforts are appreciated. hey wait...
