  1. Could the Bills have done this. Next yrs 1 ? I heard Kelly was pissed we leaked the Shady deal early.

That was my first thought, since Kelly didn't say it was a first round pick in this year's draft. Prob trying to create a market for Bradford to collect a second first round pick this year, then trade those two picks to get up high enough to get Mariota. He says he doesn't want Mariota but that's all a cover IMO.

  2. I had a table full of cute girls and he was sitting with some of his offensive linemen. I got up to get drinks and he came up to me and said, "I'm an nfl quarterback, why are no girls approaching me" I just said, they don't know who you are, bud. He was a back up to Drew at this time but a first rounder nun the less. Kid had no moxy

The fact he had to ask that question was his answer right there!

  3. In Dickerson's first 3 years as a Colt (40 games), he ran for over 4,000 yards and 27 TDs. Hardly qualifies as a downside.

In the three seasons before the trade, the Colts won a total of 12 games. The three seasons after, they won a total of 26. Dickerson made the Colts a much better team.

Buffalo posted their worst rushing numbers in their history last season, while posting some of the best defensive numbers. If McCoy and the running game are able to generate post trade Dickerson rushing numbers, they will be a playoff team the next three years.

I'd call it the downside, maybe peak for Dickerson bc prior to his time in Indy he had four great years with the Rams already. Now we're picking up a RB who's had 6 pretty good to great seasons with Philly, if we get three solid seasons out of him and playoffs/Super Bowl, the deal is worth it in my opinion, but still downside of his career. I hope I'm wrong and Shady outperforms my wildest dreams! Point taken that Indy did improve w Dickerson.

While Kiko has some question marks, he is more likely than not still on the upside of his career if I had to bet on it, but, maybe not, bc of the injuries and he might be overrated. Time will tell.

I guess one difference then and now is free agency though, so with the Bennett trade, we were getting a stud LB right out of college, and NFL free agency as we know it didn't begin until 1992. Meanwhile, Kikos contract is up at the end of 2016, so would the Bills even be able to count on Kiko beyond then and afford him if he does still has game? If we can get three solid years out of McCoy, probably a great deal.

  4.

That's pretty much it right there imo.

He gets the ball, the cost to re-sign him skyrockets. Call me cynical, but I have a hunch that this decision factored in and was made ahead of time by the organization, in general.

If so, then they may have saved a few bucks, bucks that many teams would gladly exchange for a SB. Maybe they thought that they'd win from the onset with less of a struggle.

So your theory is that before the game, ownership told Carroll that if it's a close game and you need to punch it in, then pass? Seahawks ran the ball on first down, so do u think they took the chance there bc they didn't think Lynch would actually score on that play?
  5. Yeah let's not get the last bills WR to get 1,000 since moulds. And the only WR we've ever had to get 1,000 in 3 consecutive seasons, with one of the crappiest qb's we've ever had.

In response to the first part of your statement, forget Lee Evans? Other than that, if the Bills took a shot on Stevie I wouldn't mind at a fair price, but he might be over the hill and not fit the offensive system so might not make sense. I do think he and Rex would make for an interesting coach/player relationship.

  6. It is literally the 1st big free agent in his prime he has had. I've told my Sabre friends we find out what type of owner's the Pegulas are by watching the Bills the next 2 years. Prime talent needs to be paid. Added bonus was a head coach search I did not expect, and he nailed that perfectly.

One positive in my mind is it says that Pegula isn't going to allow players to blossom under his control, only to lose those players' services to other teams when a player hits their prime. Pegula's willingness to reward high performers could change the losing culture that's been in place for so long.

  7. Hahaha Parish. You have got to be kidding me... He was the best wr in the league with Ponder throwing to him. He is a great receiver, that's not in question. And I put it out there because I wanted to Gage his market value. If 8m is way to high, would u be interested for 4m ? Percy is a guy that can beat u over the top to keep the D honest but also take a screen to the house. I have posed lots of off season ideas on this board. I think the Bills have a great group of high character players, sooo we should pick up some guys that have issues but can still play. Percy could easily come in and be a stud. Time to take chances. I would love Percy and AP on this offence. And I am softening on the idea of a TE. I just don't see anyone coming in here and making a huge impact. If we went out And spent big on J Thomas I wouldn't feel great about it. He won't put up 10 TDS without manning. I think the value is in another wr. Sammy, Percy, and woods would be a GREAT wr core. Add AP and we got a real contender

What's all the "IN" stuff about?

"IN" is the secret password for the Bills mafia.

  8. This has lawsuit written all over it.

Excessive force in preventing a petty crime from being completed.

Mr. Martin, I hope you have a large bank account. From the details, it appears you will be paying a lot in court/ lawyer costs. Plus whatever the victim gets.

    Brave act, totally uncalled for.

    Imo

Don't disagree that the shoplifter could file a lawsuit, but without all of the facts it's hard to say whether Martins 5 to 8 punches to knock the guy out were excessive. For instance, when the shoplifter was confronted, did he also pose a physical threat to the stores security guard? I'm guessing it's going to be hard for the shoplifter to get much sympathy from a judge.

  9.

when you agree to employment in the NFL as a player or coach this is the what you agreed to. No different then any other jobs out there. There are always stipulations to your employment, and Lynch signed those papers.

Personally I think fining players is a waste of time, Lynch be case #1, the guy just shrugs off the weak fines. Game suspensions and lost game checks makes more sense

I would argue the NFL is a lot different from other employers out there. As a football player, what other employment opportunities does Lynch have to make multimillions per year? If the guy wants to play football and make millions, he has no other option. If he doesn't want to give any more to a league filled with hypocrisy and takes the chance of fines for not living up to all their dumb rules, so be it. I for one love the way the guy leaves it all on the field for his team.

  10.

So someone posting on twitter is now fact? Again, I said I need to know if this happened...lots of these twitter reports have been contradicting themselves, or inaccurate. How many times do I have to repeat that? Over and over again with you I have stated that none of the speculation or leaked reports have been confirmed. And once again, all I am saying is that we need to know the accurate answers to those questions...its that simple. I am not saying they did or did not, I am stating I am skeptical at all these leaked reports being accurate.

I am also skeptical that with such a serious and tight investigation, that so much is being leaked to the press when the NFL has said absolutely nothing.

This is incorrect. The NFL has made the following statement, which is more than nothing. The statement confirms that the Patriot balls were deflated at halftime according to the gauge which you have speculated was broken, and more air was put into the balls.

    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/01/23/nfl-issues-statement-on-deflategate-investigation/

  11. Not before the game, at half time. Did they check colts at half time or not is the question. If at the end of the game they check all 24 and all 24 were fine, then what about half time? If they didn't check the colts at half time, then we don't know if the colts would have been off too using the same gauge. That's the point. To my knowledge the Colts were checked twice (Before and after game) and both had correct amount of PSI. Pats were checked 3 times (before, during and after game). Before and after the PSI was correct...however during the time where ONLY Pats balls were checked there was a discrepancy...so how do we know it wasn't a faulty gauge or impacted by the environment if they didn't also check the Colts balls at the same time, with the same gauge in the same environment?

So the point is, if the pats were fine at end of game after refs took the balls at halftime then it's possible, even likely that the gauge they used on the field at halftime was inaccurate. And you can't say the Colts wasn't off if they didn't use the same gauge at the same time at half time to also check the Colts. All reports I have seen make no mention of checking Colts balls at halftime.

So after the refs determined the Pats balls were under-inflated at halftime with the faulty gauge, they put more air in the balls which actually would have overinflated the balls, right? How do you explain that the balls were back to normal with the accurate gauges at the end of the game then?

  12. What about a 2-bullet theory? There was a bag of 12 other balls in the bathroom. The kid swapped bags.

Possible, but wouldn't there be video at some point of someone dropping off and picking up the extra bag of balls?

    What about this:

10 seconds to remove 12 balls

Stick 2 balls at a time with a needle in each hand for 10 seconds (60 sec total)

10 seconds to put 12 balls back into bag

10 seconds to flush the toilet and run the sink.

Interesting, that would be most efficient it seems. Could there have been a second person already waiting in the bathroom to help too? I guess in that case, there would be video of that extra person leaving at some point.

  13. I don't understand this whole "burden of proof" garbage. If I get pulled over driving and there's a pound of dope in my glovebox, I'm in big trouble. I can say all I want that it isn't mine, and I don't have to be under the influence (didn't affect the game) but I'm in deep doo-doo.

So if you get pulled over in a rental car which happens to have a pound of dope in the glovebox, are you at fault if you had no idea who put the dope in there to begin with?

  14. Unless Brady is clearly to blame or admits deflating the balls himself, I don't think he should be suspended. I do think hoodie should be suspended immediately and for next season, Kraft should be suspended immediately and for part of next season, and they should forfeit draft picks. "Integrity of the game".

Are Hoodie and Kraft clearly to blame? I don't see how anyone could blame them before looking at the guy who touches the football on every play first.

  15. Anyone who expects the NFL to hand down possible suspensions BEFORE the Super Bowl has to lower their expectations.

That's why it was important for Brady to not admit any role in the incident today. If he had admitted any role today, public backlash would have put the NFL in no other position than to suspend Brady for the game. His denial buys time for the league to continue their "investigation" without coming to any conclusions on who's responsible until after the game.

Brady's conflicting answers and prior statements, along w his penchant for perfection and attention to detail, it's pretty unlikely that he did not know about the deflated balls, especially if other teams in the league noticed this and they don't touch the ball on every play. He just wants to play in the Super Bowl so badly that he's still in denial mode.

If a guy is willing to cheat with the balls to get to the Super Bowl, why would he all of the sudden come clean a few days later without 100% evidence proving he's guilty, and jeopardize his chance of getting to play in the Super Bowl,

In addition, it's in the NFL and TV Commercials interests that he plays, bc otherwise the Pats will have a rookie QB starting his first game ever on the biggest stage. Viewership would most likely suffer, which is not in their interest.
