  1. I thought the Jets had the best OL in football and the best running game. Today showed the value of Thomas Jones and Alan Faneca to this team in 2009 (and Leon Washington even though he was hurt.

jets O is in for a long season. as inconsistent as we are going to be, we're going to at least have some games where our players break a couple long ones.

  2. Well...since I would argue that Biscuit & Talley were legitimate stars...& since your point is quite valid, then the proper answer to Beggar13's original question would have to be Takeo Spikes - 2006. My apologies. Can anybody think of a more recent legitimate star for the Bills? I would hate to think we're having a 4 yr gap here...Spikes > Spiller.

it is tough, not sure who would be after spikes or before him. i wouldn't even have thought of spikes if someone else hadn't mentioned him, but he was that good for a short period of time.

maybe it depends how someone defines "star" - in the sense of popularity around the league, TO is a "star". if "star" also includes production, then scratch TO from the list of recent "star" Bills.

  3. I think if we hit the Patriots game at 1-1, with less than 6 guys on the injured reserve list, we have a shot at taking New England.

The key word being "6". :D

Agreed. The Pats will probably prove me completely wrong, but they've had a lot of injuries and are aging in several areas of their team (RB, O-line, secondary) and could be weak this year. That being said, if all of the draft picks they've had recently pan out, they may not see a drop-off this season at all. I would love to see Belicheck fail though.

  4. Anyone else notice how whenever CJ Spiller is asked about his role on this team he's always talking about winning the Super Bowl. Not performing well on a weekly basis, or scoring 10 TD's, but doing all he can do to help this team win a Super Bowl. I love that about this kid. It seems like for the last decade nobody even has the cayunes to talk about a playoff birth, and here is this explosive rookie already with his eyes on the prize. A true winners mentality in my opinion. Here's to hoping it spreads!

    Lets Go Buffalo!!!

Spiller is the only reason I have any hope for the Bills this season...

  5. Yeah...I know what he said...& I'm thinking the last one was in the early 90's. If I'm wrong, somebody please enlighten me. Spikes...hmmmm???...not so sure?

If Spikes wasn't a "star" then I hope you wouldn't argue that Biscuit or Talley were stars either. Spikes in his first two years for the Bills was as respected and feared around the league as much, if not more than, Biscuit & Talley ever were.

  6. Probably not. If the Bills are going to be successful, Fred knows he will still get his touches too. Plus, he's still coming off of injury.

As for Marshawn, he is getting paid a crapload of money to do nothing but break the law, so I don't see why he'd be pi$$ed either. Maybe someday he'll get "it", but I don't really care either way. I'm suspecting the fact that it's a contract year for him though, he will have some fire when he does get touches this year.

  7. In April Jacksonville was shocked and scrambled reaching for DE Aluala after the Bills Spiller selection...The draft experts were flabbergasted.

Levi Brown Cut. NOBODY flys out to Schobel to beg while McCargo and Lynch embraced? OTs not addressed as they believe Bell can handle his business.Stroud's big ass converted to DE and Kyle on the nose? The speed of Roscoe in the mix? Who is this Nelson kid?

"All warfare is based on deception. Hence, when able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must seem inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near. Hold out baits to entice the enemy. Feign disorder, and crush him."

    - Sun Tzu, the Art of War

Why do most of the experts have the BILLS finishing last in the AFC East and feel that they'll be lucky to win a game or two? A: Because with all the changes they don't have a clue about this team. They are a mystery. How do you game plan for a team that you know nothing about with so many changes? You cant. We are a wild cat.

Gailey knows this defense is good but hes hiding it, no blitz packages shown.Whose our running back? How does the BEST secondary and backfield in the NFL not win? Impossible! I also believe this team is far more balanced then meets the eye. The Dolphins game is sold out, The 12th man will be in full force. CG's Bills are a mystery and they will crush the Fins.

Haha love the optimism and hope you are right. We will find out in less than a week! I will be doing my part cheering at the Ralph to squish to fish!

  8. let me step back a minute...TJ for BEAST MODE?!

I agree with that. Sure, TJ is 32 and may not have many seasons left. But, we lose Lynch after this year as well. I think TJ would have more value to us moving forward. Seattle may actually find a guy like Lynch useful compared to their current backfield.

  9. couple points i don't think i've seen yet:

1.) you can't teach speed. if you watch tape of spiller in college and see what he has done in the pros, defenders cannot catch spiller in the open field.

2.) i don't believe the spiller pick is really a "luxury pick". remember, this is a contract year for lynch and fred jackson is 29. if the bills don't successfully trade lynch, this gives them a full year to pound on lynch, and avoid wear & tear to freddy & CJ. next year, lynch is gone, jackson is 30, and spiller has a full year of experience under his belt.

so, instead of next year debating whether we need to resign lynch or draft some unknown out of college, we have a RB who has a full year of experience in Gailey's system and was rated far and away as the top RB in this year's draft. and spiller doesn't seem to be an a-hole yet either. and if the rest of the team still sucks, we can focus on drafting for one of those other needs while being assured we have one of the most explosive players in the NFL.

  10. Why? He practiced for 2 days and has sat out everything since. If anything, this is the perfect option to PS him bc he hasnt seen any preseason action, and hope no one else picks him up. If they do, then just elevate him. Might be a blessing in disguise.

You can't give anyone else the chance to take your Wang away from you.

Great news, he'll be a solid player with the right coaching and guidance. He's certainly not ready right now, but give him a couple of years and he'll be there.

Given the proper coaching, Wang should really grow.

  11. My thoughts regarding our stadium situation is to build a state of the art complex on the American side of the mighty Niagara Falls. The era of the Ralph is quickly coming to an end. It's been a heckuva ride, but change is not necessarily a bad thing.

Butt it up next to the falls, give it a retractable roof, with the understanding it stays open for all Bills' games. It would be a wonderful venue in a popular setting, instantly giving the wonderful Niagara area a much needed shot in the arm.

    Thoughts?

Would give distraught fans the chance to jump after games too 0:)

  12. No idea if there's already another topic on this subject, but I was reading through all the headlines from the game yesterday and the Toronto reporters continue to have no problem bashing the whole idea of the Bills playing there. It seems that most articles out of Toronto just reiterate how horrible attending a Bills game is. I understand that most of the Bills games there so far have been unexciting, but if they can't appreciate last night's game, what can they ever appreciate? I can't fully express how much this annoys me right now, but I do know that for all that the Bills put us through, us true Bills fan do appreciate what we have.

Is anyone else annoyed with this attitude coming from Toronto?
