Saint Louis is a stolen team to begin with, I could care less about them.
I say give them back the Cardinals.
-
Clearly the result would be that CJ will be MVP for the Saints, since his name is the opposite of Jesus' initials (JC) and well, JC probably has a thing for the Saints.

It's interesting to consider who and why certain pieces of info are posted. Maybe the intern was told to post it as a motivating tactic for Glenn, or maybe the intern is in trouble now, who knows?I assume it is some intern who tweeted that out but it's pretty bad form considering Glenn is thought to be the franchise's LT. Maybe it's the same intern who posted on the website that marrone had BLANK cancer.
Also maybe this is why marrone wanted to approve the team's social media.
i agree we should keep drafting tackles but to insinuate they may draft someone in the hope that he could become the new LT, from the team's official Twitter is a step beyond that imo.

Russ' alma mater is fine by me, although I live in Rochester.

If we take Funchess in the second and the best available guard in the third i think our offense will be unstoppable, regardless of who our qb is. I also think one of our young olinemen could step up and fill the vacant guard spot.
Are you offering up your services as QB?

I want to beat the Patriots at their best....I hope he plays forever
Please, no cliff hopping
I agree with the first part of your statement, although I'd prefer the Bills be the catalyst for Brady retiring. Perfect scenario would be either brady pouting at the Ralph after getting pummeled all day, or getting carried away on a stretcher. If it happens this year, great!

What is the point of this thread?

Fans should be excited. That about covers it.
You aren't going to give an opinion on every move the Bills have made? I've read several very impressive expert analyses already.
-
It works fine just the way it is. This is another reason why the NFL is going the wrong way, all under Goodells watchful eye.
I agree, unfortunately more playoff teams means more playoff games which means more money. That's what it's all about.

Hope Bucky is more right than the haters in the comments section!

Its also very difficult for a 1st year coach to install his system and have early success. That takes time.Talent has to mesh perfectly to have great success. There will be an adjustment period and not having a QB makes that more difficult.
With regard to there being an "adjustment period" for a new coach, the defensive system could be similar to the one instilled by Pettine two years ago, so defense hopefully will not drop off too much from this year (if at all). On the offensive side, we sucked anyway so there's nowhere to go but up.

I'm not a bettor so maybe someone can explain this.
The Bills are now at 33-1.
Considering there are 32 teams, the Bills now have an almost perfectly average chance of winning the SB. If every team were equal, every team would have 32-1 odds.
Well the Bills were already an above average team last year - we finished 9-7 after all. And our off-season moves only made us better. So shouldn't our odds be better than 33-1?
Granted 33-1 is better than the 75-1 earlier this year and the 200-1 we've seen in previous years. But I still think we're somewhat better than 33-1.
Maybe I should place a bet on us.
Also, the house had to build in margin for themselves. Even if every team were equal, the odds offered on each would be something higher like 40-1. The theory being bets would be evenly placed across all teams and the house makes money no matter who wins.

First off, great play by the Bills, this puts Miami in a tough situation.
With that said, I'm going to go out on a limb and predict Miami matches the offer. For one, people tend to think in the short term and worry about longer term consequences down the road. If Miami lets Clay walk to Buffalo, the Bills have substantially more offensive weapons in 2015 than Miami.
In addition, everyone keeps saying don't worry about cap room for the Bills in 2016 bc the salary cap is expected to get a hike. Well, even though Miami has money tied up in some key players already, that same expected hike would also help Miami deal w the large dollars allocated for Clay.
Anyway, hope I'm wrong, the waiting game is on!
i say miami matches, they have enough/ plenty of cap space.
if the roles were reversed.....wouldn't you want buffalo to match miami's offer ?
miami has about 5 players worth keeping and projected $30 mil under the cap for 2016 ...they can cut whats needed to keep clay.
You beat me to it!

The worst part is going to be when Clay signs the Bills offer sheet, then we have to sweat it out to see if Miami will match. If they plan to, they will prob wait until the day just to delay the Bills from signing other TEs.

I'm confused as to why there is even a discussion on this subject. I've never heard of an NFL WR moving to CB at this stage of their career. Even if somehow Hogan is CB in hiding, is the hope that someone at OBD is reading and going to approach Hogan and say "hey, we just signed you to a new contract as a wide receiver. Even though our defense was elite last year, we were curious how you might line up as a CB and contribute on that defense."
Doesn't this sound like we're throwing out highly unlikely scenarios here?

I know Bills fans are happy we have all these new shinny toys to play with, but all these toys dont tend to win many games. I feel like the Redskins or something, signing and trading for these older vets.
We still have no QB and a weak OL. How does Percy Harvin and McCoy give us better OL play? They dont. Without better OL play we are not going to have a strong ground game, I dont care how good McCoy is, he cannot block for himself. Harvin wont be able to throw it to himself. How is he going to be an upgrade to Hogan in that regard (Not returns, etc)
Hogan is nothing special but on a team with a legit QB he would sure look at lot better than he is. Our WR core was fine, especially with the big investment in Watkins. RBs didnt need a superstar we needed a late round Rookie or some budget vet to fill in with Freddie and Boobie, behind what should have been to focus of the Offseason - a much improved OL. I dont understand the drive to upgrade the skill position here; we gotta land some O Lineman for petes sakes.
Well who would you suggest they sign? They made Bulaga an offer and he took less to resign w the Packers. Not sure what happened w Iutapi but he signed for a lot of money w Arizona. Who do you want the Bills to get?
-
There's a reason he's on his 4th team in 5 years.
Well if your going to count Fitz you should count Marshall too.
-
2 aging corners and Fitzgibbons? I guess.
Brandon Marshall doesn't count for anything?
-
Because he's a free agent next yr and if they want to lock him up long term then it makes sense to give him a long term deal otherwise he might want to sign with us
Gotcha, well if we don't get him at least we forced their hand.
-
to sign him to a long term deal
Why do they need to give Clay a long term deal if the Bills never gave an offer?
-
They are working on it as we speak. That's the early indication
We never even made an offer afaik
Why would Miami even be working on anything for him then?
-
they got a future all pro LB for free basically
Except that Kiko's contract is up in two years and if he truly becomes an all pro LB then he won't be for free then.
-
i don't see this as a backup plan for Clay. Very different players. Fasano is a replacement for Lee smith.
I think Chandler release is independent of Clay. If they don't get clay I think they will draft a TE or go after another athletic TE in FA.
@alexmarvez: 1 reason @buffalobills cut Scott Chandler: Want better blocker at TE. Anthony Fasano gives that as 2nd TE. @MikeGarafolo says he's visiting
Hope this is the case!
-
Bills prob need a backup plan, since the Dolphins could match an offer on Clay up to the 7th day. While I wasnt a huge Chandler fan, does make me wonder why they released him this early with the uncertainty at our TE position.
Eagles originally wanted draft picks, not Kiko
