Spiller is the next Maybin. He is too small for the NFL. A terrible pick and Buddy should be fired for taking him.
He's about the same size as Barry Sanders, wouldn't you say?
-
Since the average life of an NFL player is less than 4 years, 25% of his career is over with a big fat goose-egg to show for it.
In Buddy we trust
Less than 4 years? Where the hell did that number come from? You sure you're not talking about closers in baseball??
-
Spiller has one year of very limited play under his belt. While I agree that what we saw of him was far from awesome, I think it's a little premature to be determining whether or not he warranted a 1st round pick. Give the kid some time. He's barely gotten his feet wet in the NFL.

Classy team with classy fans. A championship well-deserved. Congratulations, Ice!!!

I've currently got a Poz jersey. With the new style coming out, I think I'll either go with Williams or Johnson. I always like to have a current player, but I sometimes bust out the classics ... actually, I only wear one classic - Brucie. My Kelly jersey no longer fits (must've shrunk, right?) and I haven't worn Bledsoe since he left. But I liked him.
My wife got me a Trent jersey last year. I wore it once and he got cut a week or two later. She got it for $10, though!!!!

we have 2 nose tackles now. one a probowler and the other drafted last year.
And we gave up 700 rushing yards/half, too.

How old are you? 12? The girl is 17. Teenagers make bad judgements all the time. Besides, read the damn thread junior. I didn't say MS did anything illegal. I said it showed poor judgement and character. He believes a teenager when she says I've checked, I'm legal. She lies, he's a rapist. Sound judgement from an NFL QB. It's sad when he can't handle anything above a teenager who's going to be late for homeroom the next day so he can take her to Jersy and have sex with her. If that's your kinda guy, I know all I need to know about you right now.
Smart analogy. So if the boy is 13 and she's 7, that's okay. Use your head. The girl is in high school and he's a NFL QB. Not illegal, but pretty damn low character.
The analogy was tongue in cheek. But I still maintain this is not that big of a deal. Seventeen is old enough for a girl to decide whether or not she's going to be a slut. This one made a very clear decision. A 23 year old pro athlete banging a 17 year old girl -- to me -- means you have a guy who has a maturity problem and extremely piss poor judgment, and a litle rich slut who has probably had sex with numerous older men.
I'm not saying Sanchez, or any 23-year-old who pursues a teenaged girl, has high character. Believe me.
I just don't think it's too far over the line.
-
Which also isn't that large of an age difference, in the grand scheme of things.
I think he was 23 when he banged her ... so it's 6 years. My parents are 5 years apart. I'm going to call my dad a pervert and a sexual predator later.
-
she's legal, and he is single and only 24 at the time. whats the big deal?
Exactly. Would I be happy if I had a 17-year-old daughter dating a 24-year-old man? NO! But it's not a crime. If Sanchez was a Bill, there would be a lot more acceptance on this board.

The Bills are light years from the Packers, Steelers, Jets, Ravens, etc., etc. because the Bills can't rush the passer and can't stop the run.
Until that is fixed, it doesn't matter if Otto Graham is the QB.
If I may quote Meatloaf ... "you took the words right out of my mouth."

I am far from believing that Fitzgibbons is the long term solution as the Bills QB, but what exactly are you basing this on?
Seriously. Fitz may or may not be a legitimate long-term starter ... but he looked a lot better than anything I've seen from Kolb. Kolb reminds me of Trent. Fitz doesn't.

Isn't "up" the only way this defense can go?

Honestly, they need to just scrap the game altogether. The more I think about it, it really is a joke.
Best suggestion.

RJ Version 2.0
PTR
I was thinking Trent 2.0, but this is better. Stay away from this dude.

$432 for NFL season tickets just seems so inexpensive to me! I'm sure Jets and Giants fans (and probably quite a few others) would agree...
If only Buffalo weren't so far away from BVT, I'd buy tickets in a second. If we get "good" again and I know I can sell the games I don't go to, I might pick up a couple tickets next year or the following.
Congrats on the purchase - there isn't much you can spend $50 an have as much fun as a Bills game. Even when we lose the food, friends and scene is worth the price of admission!
I hear you. I'm about a 6-hour drive away from Orchard Park. If I was halfway closer, I'd get seasons.

We had the worst defense in football. An unproven wide receiver isn't going to change that. We're fine at WR. We need to stop the other guys from scoring so many points and rushing for so many yards.
-
Unless A.J. Green can play a mean D-Line and/or LB, they'd be crazy to blow a #3 on him. If they go offense, it better be on the line.
-
Fairley, Dareus, Bowers. One of those three will be available. I'd be fine with any, in that order too. I'll wait until the combine to see more of Quinn as well.
The only pick that I would be a little "eh" on would be AJ Green, though I realize he's an amazing talent.
Exactly, and exactly.

I love Andre, and think he does belong in the Hall of Fame. It's been sad to watch him become the "Gary Carter" of the NFL, practically begging every year to get in. I think he's going to get in either this year or next, and I really hope he does. I just wish he'd gone about the wait a little differently.
-
I watched him play all year and think that a 4th round pic would be warranted.
I agree ... if he's available in the 4th, I'd draft him. Any earlier, nah.

You know what else wins championships for cold weather teams? Running the football successfully. Big Ben only attempted 19 passes last night, and the Packers outran the Bears.
The Jets out ran NE, the Ravens outran the Chiefs, Pitt out ran Balt., and so on. I'm not sure, but I think that the team with the most rushing yardage won every game played in the cold in the playoffs.
This could be us, but this franchise tends to use top draft selections on running backs, defensive backs, and various gadget players to sell tickets.
When Bryce Paup and Big Ted were here, our defense was as good as just about any, but we had no blocking. The need for a good qb goes without saying. After that, cold weather teams need to be able to sustain a ground game in the elements, and of course stop their opponents from running all over them. Green Bay is in the superbowl because of Rodgers, and the fact that they clicked on front seven defensive players and offensive linemen.
They got their scatback in round 6. We got ours with the 8th selection, and there are weak OTs in front of him. This sort of tells the story too, wouldn't you agree?
Exactly ... running the ball and stopping the run ... that's what wins.

Both lines- all positions
Yup.

That thread was some funny stuff. The one about the drool on his chin was epic.
Another former Bill getting cut.

Exactly. I think the moral of the story is ... never draft a RB in the first round. Ever.
