My Takeaways:
1. Vick was terrible last night, but I still think he's playing better (through 3 games, albeit) this year than he has since his return from prison.
2. Vick won't make it to week 6. He's taking a beating behind the line of scrimmage and beyond it. He's just not big enough.
3. McCoy is an animal. I really thought he'd suffered something serious and I'm glad he's okay.
4. Eagles fans continue to solidify their place as the worst fans in U.S. professional sports. But give them time ... they'll end up decapitating a ref, too.
5. I prayed that the Bills wouldn't hire Chip Kelly. I think I'll thank God every day for the next decade that they didn't.
6. The Chiefs are (3-0) because they beat teams they were better than. Good for them and good for Reid.
7. McNabb made an ass of himself at halftime. I've always liked him, but he showed no grace and less class.
8. If Buffalo is still relatively healthy (i.e. - our premier starters), Nov. 3 should be an easy win.
9. Prior to the draft, I was down with getting Alex Smith. I still think he is a good QB. But kudos to the Bills brass for deciding to draft EJ. He's better.

I'm a fan of old country music ... namely Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline.
Listening to today's country music is like looking at a Penthouse magazine. The words mean nothing, but it can still be entertaining.

You need to look directly to the right of the "Tonight" portion of today's forecast. It's not an ad. It's a video.
The boobies are real. And they're spectacular.

cool, now if we can work on that deep ball.
Baby steps. For now, I'll take some more sustained drives so our D doesn't get gassed.

1. Thanks, OP, for the summary of the interview.
2. The longer the national media pays no attention to us, the better, IMO. A win vs. the Jets and the coverage will really be on the incline. Let the focus stay on the teams and players they've been salivating over since pre-season ... while Buffalo quietly takes care of business.

No one can possibly say no to this chick.

Happy Birthday. I hope your day is spectacular.

Indeed a great fighter and man. Likely the only man who could leave this life saying, "I once broke Ali's jaw." R.I.P.

To tag any offensive lineman, you need to pay them tackle money. Guards are not worth tackle money. It's one of the flaws in the franchise tag system.
-
if he keeps up this pace he will have 30+ sacks this year.
Meanwhile, is Marcel Dareus even playing?
Can you please explain your Dareus comment?

I know you guys base your yes and no's solely on looks but damn I woman that hot that is !@#$ing a 15 year old has some major mental issues and I tend to shy away from women with mental issues. Especially the hot ones.
This reminds me of the guy (I can't remember who, but it was here) who told me, "you don't want to have sex with Rhianna. She's a sex addict and once you had sex with her, she would want you all to herself and always want to do it."
To this day, I can't find a problem with that scenario.

"You can do that later, perv. I'm trying to hail a cab!!"
-
I'd be on Cloud 9.

Personally I think Jimi would have 'disappeared' in the blues joints of chicago and mississippi and just played whatever the f*** he felt like playing.
This is always what I've hoped would have happened.
It just amazes me that this 27-year-old has been gone for 43 years and still remains relevant.
You can't say that about Eddie Van Halen, and he's still alive. And in the late 70s/early 80s, eight out of 10 people would have said EVH was the best ever.
I don't want to pick on any one person; I personally know plenty that do this. I will never understand bringing up the anniversary of someone's death. If anyone has an explanation, I would be interested in hearing it.
I think it's just another way to remember someone, as well as recognize when they left us. Jimi Hendrix's death date has always stuck with me; as has John Bonham's (a week from today). None more than John Lennon for me, personally, though.
I remember the day my grandmother died, yet I have no idea when her birthday was. Not sure what that means, other than dates of death of those near and dear to people tend to mean something.

Lets focus and put this thread back on track
Good call (getting it back to Jimi). And great tune.

This is taking a turn I'm not willing to make. Let's agree to disagree, FireChan, on our feelings for Tim Tebow.
I will say this ... it used to piss me off that Kurt Warner would begin every postgame interview by giving praise to the almighty Jesus his lord and savior blah, blah, blah, puke, ****, !@#$, crap.
There is a time and a place for pushing religion. It's usually in a church where people want it and expect it. It's not on a camera that is there because of a football game.
One more thing. Tebow's affiliation with an anti-gay and anti-Semitic church in Texas kind of backs up my assertion that he's a huge fake. When I say "kind of" I mean it does.
-
Kinda bow-legged.
Yes.

I do not agree with this at all SRV had his own style.
I'm the biggest SRV fan I know. He is #2 on my "best ever" list. I agree he had his own style and his own sound. I didn't mean to imply otherwise, believe me. But saying SRV played a lot like Hendrix is 100% accurate.
Since a nerve has been touched:
Jimi: "with the power of soul, anything is possible "
Mayer: "we're waiting on the world to change."
That is some of the weakest **** ever put to tape. I'm talking real "attention wal mart shoppers" ****.
If John Mayer did not exist, Guitar Center would have invented him. Jimi OTOH was a master and an original.
Agree that most of his music is terrible and acknowledged that it's bubblegum... But watch this entire video. He doesn't suck.

Quick question, Gug. Is he always praying on camera? When he's on the sidelines of big Gators games, is he praying? When the camera cuts to him when the defense is on the field, or when he's holding the clipboard, or when Sanchise throws another pick-six, is he praying? He's not.
You say you're religious. If every game, you made a habit of praying for all the player's safety before the game, would you stop because the media focuses on it? Would you be ashamed for everyone to see it? Would you be afraid people would hate you for it? That's pretty un-Christian like.
Keep in mind, Tebow comes from an Evangelical faith. Which, if I understand correctly, heavily emphasizes on preaching to the masses and trying to convert others. That's his faith. He's not gonna stop because the cameras are on him.
I said I'm Christian. I am a far cry from a religious person, however.
Preaching to the masses and trying to convert others is about the most dickish thing any human being can do, in my opinion.
It further exemplifies how selfish Tebow is. It's all about what is good for him and for his cult.
If I wanted to pray for players' safety, I'd do it privately. Not for fear or shame ... but for respect. Respect for others' beliefs.
Those who force feed their beliefs down others' throats are not good people.
Tebow is not a good person. His cult is full of people just like him. Fake and bad.
-
Wow. That's bad. I still think Eagles fans are the worst in all of sports; followed by Red Sox fans. I've never heard a story like this one, though!!!
-
Speculating what he may have been, or the kind of music he may have played, it kind of pointless, but I'll play.
I think he would have collaborated with lots of people. Kind of like when Chet Atkins and Mark Knopfler worked together; or BB King and Eric Clapton.
I do not think he'd have gone down the Santana road with the radio-friendly stuff.
I do agree that blues would have been his main genre. Stevie Ray Vaughan made quite a nice living playing the blues - and playing a hell of a lot like Jimi Hendrix.
On the flip side ... John Mayer is another Hendrix-influenced guitar player and he has ridiculous skills. But he chose to make bubblegum crap music and make a ton of money; only to rip a few nice solos during live shows. I just don't see Hendrix doing that. (On a side note, I am hoping that this stage of Mayer's career is temporary and that he has many years of blues albums in his future. The guy can flat out play)
I think he would have simply solidified himself as the best guitar player to grace our planet if he'd lived this long.

Byrd isn't doing anything that any other player in his situation would be doing.
Does it suck? - Yes.
Is he putting the team first? - No.
Is the team putting him first? - Nope.
That's the nature of the business.
When people say "he needs to be out there," I have to respectfully disagree. He doesn't need to be out there. Gilmore's return is WAY more effective than Byrd's.
We'll be just fine without Byrd.
And every week our DBs continue to play well while he "reaches 100%," it will be illustrated exactly why you don't overpay a safety.
I have no issue with what Byrd's doing. But I won't shed any tears when he cleans out his locker on his way to the team stupid enough to pay him top dollar.
-
It's kind of like winning $10 if you come in dead last in the office pool. Even being the absolute worst at what you do gets you something.
Show me one time he's talked down to someone about his religion. Even once.
Pro tip: You can't. Anti-Tebowers (the guys that don't like him personally, not his QB critics) come up with the narrative that he's a media whore who uses his religion to make money or something, he doesn't. He didn't get paid in college and he acted the exact same.
I don't know if it's the atheist crowd that dislikes him or what. I think he's a good kid who the media harps on until everyone hates him.
Christian, here.
This guy is about as genuine as a Gucci watch being sold by a NYC street vendor. He is a media whore. He is an attention whore. All of his goals are individual goals; not team goals. He "prays" when he knows the camera is on him. And before you come back with the, "well the camera was always on him," story, consider this: it's possible to pray without anyone knowing you're praying. If he really wanted it to be between him and God, he'd do that.
Attention whore. 100%. And I, personally, am ecstatic that every team in the NFL caught on to his crap.

Great post, Pooj.
The greatest guitar player ever, in my opinion.
To put his accomplishments into perspective a bit ... he died three years after his first studio album was released. Three years ... and he continues to influence the best living guitar players today.
RIP, Jimi.

He's hosting a party at the property and asking that the kids at the party attend so he can talk to them. He is genuinely interested in helping to improve these kids' decision-making skills and, quite possibly, their lives. Talk about a gentle giant.
Oh ... and the thanks he gets for being forgiving, understanding and just a good human being?? Of course ... it's a !@#$ing lawsuit.
