  1. Watched an LMN movie about how the Amber Alert came about. Great story. Very sad story. But it's pure fact that Amber Alerts are effective.

The mere thought of my son missing and/or being abducted makes my emotions run wild. I can't imagine what these parents (and the children, obviously) go through.

I'm sure there are stats out there about how many children have been found by way of the Amber Alert. I'd love to see some statistics on how many missing/abducted children have been found via Facebook or any other social networking outlet. I've seen that in action quite a bit; especially with runaways.

My company had shares once worth almost $300. The 10 year high was $260, I think. We voluntarily (nearly forced to do so) delisted ourselves from the NYSE with a closing share price of about $.50. Now we are trying to restructure, losing out big time money. Contracts have been lost. We are in debt to the security company that secures our buildings. We ran out of soap and toilet paper this week because the bills were not paid to the cleaning company.

We're not looking so well, and being that our parent company only has a few actual assets it is troubling. Other then the names of the companies it owns, their trademarks, and a few patents in those companies they have two plants in China and an empty plant in Mexico. The individual companies all own their closed down facilities. My company alone has at least 15 buildings within a half hour drive of our headquarters.

Either way, time to look for a new job while I can afford to be picky. Farming just don't git'r done.

    Best of luck, Boyst.

  3. While part of me kinda agrees, one could also argue that a celebrity doing a good deed in the light will encourage others to do the same. Also, if a kid sees SJ13 doing this, it sets the notion of community as a value.

This particular act of kindness sort of cements the idea that Stevie is part of the Buffalo community. This is one of the things that makes Buffalo a special NFL market...the fact that you might go out about the city and interact with the players. I had dozens of encounters with Bills in my 7 years in the city...in my last 15 years in NYC, the closest I had to even seeing a Jet or a Giant was when I saw either Tiki or Ronde Barber coming from that credit card commercial they did a few years back.

This is a good way to look at it. Whether or not Stevie's intent was to inspire others to do the same, if that's an actual effect from it, then great.

  4. I can't help it -- I want to see what this guy has got. I would be thrilled with an EJ/Leinart/Tuel lineup (in that order) if Leinart has matured and is a decent game manager. EJ's the stud, but if he gets "tweaked" along the way Leinart could be "that guy" who can win you a game or two. I still believe Tuel needs some development and would benefit from being the #3.

I'm a big fan of the "career resurrection" stories...

I also am eager to see what Leinart can do.

I have no faith in Tuel. Potential and a dollar still only get you a McChicken sandwich.

I'd honestly feel better if Brad Smith was named #3 with Leinart backing up (if he shows well tonight).
