I don’t measure beane / bills moves against the horribly managed teams. I compare them to the good teams management . Bal, kc, phi, rams now det and maybe min / Green Bay / Tampa
Again, this isn’t some sports writer. This is a survey of actual NFL player evaluators and executives.
have nothing against Ed. My criticism is with Beane. And it’s just evaluation of the job he’s doing. And I think Beane is just doing ok. Outside of Josh Allen pick.
I mean he didn’t just miss on impact position. He didn’t even pick the right player within the position stack
It’s not espn generating it. It’s nfl personnel executives. Much more credible
ESPN doing insider top player top 10 by positions
no Ed Oliver , not even honorable mention
pretty interesting that every other DT drafted in his class is in top 10
imo this is beanes biggest blunder. Can’t miss on top 10 picks. Ed is an ok player. If he was a second rounder I feel his production and impact match that
Never know what beane and the bills ACTUALLY knew or discovered. I imagine the player and agent likely sugar coated it. Unless they talked to the girl (no way anyone from nfl or bills did) or had access to her statements she gave to police or campus officials (I doubt it) then I think it’s highly probable t what the bills knew and today’s lawsuit with details are not the same.
I bet there’s some surprise today at OBD / Beane with these details. just most likely scenario
The good thing Beane did was sort of pin it on the league -“ well if it was an issue then the nfl wouldn’t have him at the combine or at the draft.” Good move
They’re trying to break it all down and not pay old ppl big money contracts. Yet simultaneously “trying” to sign to plug holes to “look” good to the fan base
they really should have drafted A TE this year knowing they were t gonna get a deal done w Jonnu
I find this interesting actually
beanes an emotional dude. It is what it is. Starting to come through more and more as time goes on. In the beginning it’s endearing and welcomed change of vigor
but with each passing year of not getting it done (beating chiefs or getting to a Super Bowl) he’s starting to be too emotional
and that’s my biggest gripe with this org. They’re too culture centrric. Everybody believes. And loves each other. It affects their draft picks and priorities in offseason. And it affects their contracts.
But history tells us that no coach /qb combo this long together will win a Super Bowl. So we’re waiting for improbability in my view. That’s why I was for moving on from him after :13 seconds
