  1. I would actually like the hire. I think he is the best the Bills could get.
  2. His record as a HC is 46-50. Enough said.
  3. And his first hire for the Sabres was the highly sought after Ted Nolan? I like Ted, but he was not a high profile hire. He was the most qualified Coach they could find that would take the job
  4. Sorry if it hurts. Its just my opinion and I am calling it like I see it. Past hiring's prove my statement. Just trying to be realistic about who they will hire. I no longer live in the area, so no inferiority complex here.
  5. Rex wanting to come to Buffalo makes sense. He hates the Patriots, he would probably like to stick it to the Jets twice a year as well. He is a defensive coach that will inherit a top 5 defense. He probably is the most qualified candidate that would actually sign a contract with Buffalo. Not many Head Coach candidates want to come to Buffalo , most use the Bills to practice their interviewing skills and use them to put pressure on the team they really want to coach.
  6. IMO, The 2014 wide receiver class will go down in history as the best class ever. It will be compared to the QB class of 83 that produced three Hall of fame QBs. The amount of NFL records this class is going to break should be impressive. Before this season, only 12 rookie receivers had more than 1000 yards and only 24 players had more than 900 yards. This class produced 3 receivers that had 1000 yards, and Watkins with 982 yards. It was widely accepted that Watkins was the best, of the best receiver class ever. I have no problem with the trade to get Watkins. The success of other receivers in the class does not change my opinion, it only strengthens it. Whaley went after the best receiver of possibly the best class ever, I could never fault him for that.
  7. your doomed. Your first mistake was accepting a Bills HC job. It shows serious lack of judgment. You will only be 2 years and will never get another HC job again.
  8. I agree, lets give the kid a chance. This video was posted before, but it should be brought up again.
  9. I believe that the root cause of the Bills failures is not so much just the QB position, but all positions. Name me one Bills receiver that has left the Bills and been successful. Stevie, some say the Bills best receiver since Moulds is a true #2 or 3, as evident by his play in SF. Evens, our #1 receiver until he was replaced by Stevie, couldn't even make the NFL the second year after he left the Bills. They drafted Maybin with the 11th pick. James Hardy at the 41 pick. How many starts did we get from these two fine draft picks? It is too early to know how things will turn out with Whaley, however IMO, the last 2 drafts have produced more productive players than in the past. Isn't it ironic that Woods was selected #41 same as Hardy. He will have some misses but lets give the man at least 5 years before we crucify him too.
  10. Why did he fall from a second round pick to undrafted?
  11. The way I remember it. In 2004 Peters was an undrafted Rookie TE. The Bills took a chance on him, put him on the practice squad and converted him to an OL. In 2006 he signed a 5 year 15 Million contract. He excelled at the OL and after 2 years into his 5 year contract he wanted more money. He refused to show up for training camp. The Bills hands were tied. I am sure a man like RW was not happy. He had taken a chance on Peters and all he got in return was a stab in the back. If it were not for the Bills, it is highly likely Peters would have never made it to the NFL. Screw Peters. He should have finished his contract like a man, then he could have gone to the highest bidder.
  12. What the frack!!! does Tarry work?
  13. Whaley was mentored in Pittsburgh. The Steelers have only had 3 HC's since the 1960's. The Bills will be on the 8th since 2000. Hopefully he learned from his mistake, if he was involved in the selection of Marrone, and finds the guy that can be here for at least 10 years.
  14. LOL. Everyone says it was a bad idea for the Bills for the opt out clause. Ralph owned the Bills when that deal was made. Would he bet against his own death? He could care less if the new owner had to cough up the 4 Million.
  15. Exactly. I find it amusing that people here know the exact chain of command at One Bills Drive.
  16. I like the long shots. Tuel will lead the team to the playoffs next year.
  17. Please give specific examples of "over his head" . That phrase is thrown around a lot as a fact, with no examples. Gailey had the 13th best offence with the shittiest receivers in Bills history. I think he would have done better with Woods and Watkins. The Defense under Gailey was around 23rd, Dareus, McKelvin, and Gilmore had not matured yet. Now, It is a top 10 defense no matter who coaches it. IMO this team makes the playoffs and is a contender for the Division.
  18. With Gailey and Fitz still here, you don't think they make the playoffs?
  19. FIRE THE COACHES AGAIN!!!!!! Fans are too impatient. They want change every year, and they have had their way. Since 2000, the Bills have had 13 different stating QB's, 7 different Head Coaches, 9 different Offensive Coordinators, and 7 different Defensive coordinators. That probably leads the league, or is close to it, in the number of changes in those key positions. How many of those that are calling for Marrones head, wanted Gailey gone, wanted Fitz gone? I want continuity. I want a HC given ample time to fix the areas that needed to be fixed. I am tired of starting over every 2 or 3 years with the same result. Those who wanted change every couple of years have got what they have wanted. It has resulted in 14 years of ineptitude. It is time for a change. Give the Head Coach time to fix the problem, 4 years Minimum. It is time for a different approach.
  20. You should add in, same horrible O line. IMO, that is the real problem. Although It is difficult to quantify the success or failure of the O line, watching the games you could see that there were no holes for the RB's, and very little time in the pocket. When Orton did have time, he looked shell shocked waiting for the pocket to collapse at any moment. Why do you think the red zone was so bad? It was because the O line sucks. One on One battles were consistently lost. Did you ever see the O line push the D Line back 1 yard to get the first down? Where the O line dominated the LOS. No! Not a single game. Almost all short yardage runs were met at the LOS. IMO, the O line is priority 1 this off-season. It is hard to evaluate the RB's and QB's with such a lousy O line. If you listened to Woods comment the other day, you could tell they all had a come to Jesus talk with the coaches. I expect a vastly improved O line next year. If not, then fire Marrone and Hackett for not being able to identify the root cause.
  21. Marrone stays.
  22. You obviously did not read all the Jack ass responses to his post
  23. But, If you take away all the touchdowns and field goals given up by the defense, the Bills would be 15-0. How about them apples. Fire Schwartz!!!!
  24. I am with you OP. But be prepared, the hostiles want blood. You my be strung up for having anything positive to say. Good Luck.
  25. People of Buffalo. News for you. High end coaching talent will not come to Buffalo not mater how much the pay is. The weather sucks, The taxes sucks. Their spouses will tell them to screw themselves and go alone if they want the job so bad. The only coach Buffalo can attract is a someone who wants to prove something. They will not attract someone who has already proven something. Saint Doug is perfect for the job.
