  1. Get over it! If the guy worked at burger king nobody would have a problem with it. That guy goes back to work, you could care less and you get on with your life. Because the guy makes millions in the national football league you judge him by a different set of standards and want to continue to punish him. Why don't you go find some loser sob that was convicted of dog fighting that maybe works at the local super market and picket his place of employment for hiring him. Go burn all your Ozzy Osbourne CDs because the guy killed 17 cats and bit the heads off of live animals. If you are that complete in your convictions I applaud you. But as usual most of us are somewhat hypocritical in our beliefs. The guy did his time and literally lost EVERYTHING in the process. Let the guy go back to freakin' work at his chosen profession and people should keep their jealously of how much money he makes doing it to themselves.
  2. DUDE!...You're killin' me. "The numbers are not really valid anymore" ??? You then follow that up with probably the only numbers that don't suggest Vick is a better QB. His age 29 and his completion percentage 53.7%. No he is not a traditional pocket passer. BUT, he is very effective and he led his teams to wins and play off appearances. I think you're letting your personal feelings about the man cloud your judgment of the player.
  3. I too like the Troy Smith option better but would not be unhappy at all with Vick.
  4. Nah...he just shot 17 cats or more and bit the head of off several live animals including bats and doves.
  5. Whatever Trent Lover!!! LOL
  6. I think your right!!!!! Now all we have to do is find a QB that can throw unconscious from his back, a RB that can literally run through a brick wall and our offensive line will no longer be our biggest problem.
  7. QUOTE (Jason Peters-Christ @ Jan 31 2010, 04:59 PM) * Sure I can let it go. I can let go being a fan of this team much easier than I can let go my moral standard that it is wrong to torture and kill animals. Guess you guys aren't Ozzy Osbourne fans
  8. As always...what do the numbers say? If Vick isn't better than what we have now show us the numbers? I don't know myself ....but I would bet some money that it is not even close between Vick and our current guys. Look at TDs which of course include his rushing tds. I would also be really interested in seeing what his team 3rd down conversion rate is compared to our current guys. What was his record as a starting QB? I would imagine that in most every statistical category Vick is better. Again, I haven't looked it up, but I would put a significant amount of coin on the numbers supporting Vick.
  9. Sorry to say but our pension for drafting in the secondary with our first pick predates Jauron by about 16 years.;
  10. QUOTE (BillyBaroo @ Jan 30 2010, 07:49 PM) * In fact - while we are at it - why don't we trade up - and get that DT from Nebraska -Suh?- he will be a game changer. Have the Bills ever traded UP? I think he meant have we ever traded up for anyone good! lol
  11. Seriously? You're kidding right? Bulaga or Davis should be there when we pick. I mean, come on! If you want a QB just say you want a QB don't say there won't be some great tackles there for us to draft. *sheesh*
  12. He looks alright. At least he is able to take a snap under center.
  13. I brought this up in a poll I started a couple days ago. I think Troy Smith would be a great FA QB pickup for us. I wouldn't have a problem giving up a 3rd round pick or even possibly a 2nd round pick. This guy was a 1st round pick and but for some bad luck would be Baltimore's starter. He also won a Heisman which truthfully doesn't mean much to me but it is an accolade that can't be ignored.
  14. I've heard the Leflour name a lot but I don't know if it just the same poster campaigning for him or if he is a popular dark horse candidate. Whoever we get for the future better have balls, brains and a big arm. I am tired of trying to get production out of QBs that are severely lacking in one or more of those categories. If you have brains but not experience you can still fit the bill. No pun intended. Kelly Holcomb had brains and balls but no big arm JP had balls and big arm to spare but had no brains. Trent had brains, we thought, but found out he had no balls and no big arm. Fitzpatrick had some balls and some brains but no big arm Brohm...."incomplete" because he wasn't given a long enough look to know anything. All we need is a guy that has those 3 qualities. The more polished the guy is the earlier you have to draft him. Who out there has those 3 qualities and can be taught and gain experience?
  15. I understand the desire to get the QB of the future ASAP. If we had a great offensive line or at least an average one I would agree with you. Problem is that due to youth or lack of talent our offensive line stinks right now. Help me out with this because I really don't know the answer but....what QB chosen in the top 9 picks in the last 10 years hasn't started by years end? The only guy I can think of is Phillip Rivers and that is only because San Diego had Drew Brees, a great o-line and LT and couldn't trade out of the spot so they had to take Eli who became Rivers.
  16. In a bunch of different threads people are heatedly discussing our first round draft pick, #9 overall, and whether to draft a LT to protect a QB or to draft our "QB of the future". When the point that a QB of the future's growth and development could be ruined because we don't have an offensive line to protect him people almost unanimously say let the QB of the future sit for a year or two. My thought is this. If we are only draft our QB of the future to sit the bench for a year or two....why draft him in the first round. IMO a #9 pick QB is a guy that is ready to and SHOULD start now. You don't draft and pay #9 money to a guy that needs to ride pine for a while do to inability to start or quite litteraly fear for his safety. If the answer is get our QB of the future now and let him sit...we may as well get a project at QB that will be ready to start when the O-line is ready to protect him and aid his development not stunt his growth. I'm just throwing a name out there but "pre-combine" a guy that could be had out side the first 2 rounds is Jevan Snead. I'm am no college football guru but he has a few things that can't be taught like size, mobility and a cannon for an arm. Thoughts? What other QBs might fit this mold of a later draft pick, mobile, physical, big armed QB that could be groomed in a year or 2 to start? And please, just because a QB has a big arm and is mobile DOESN'T make him JP Losman. He was a reach for a first round pick and we all know how that worked out.
  17. Rookie's can make an impact in the right situation. It's not saying much but all of those guys had better QBs than we had not to mention somewhat better to MUCH better offensive lines. How quickly we have also forgotten the impact of Dick Jauron. All year he was the cause for all of our ills.
  18. Really? Hardy has been active for how many games? This is his second year in the league and he has missed more than a whole year with the injury and rehab. MAN am I glad you aren't our general manager. Even if he was healthy it takes 3 years to get the NFL game most people say.....*SHEESH*

  20. Ooooh...oooh....what did I win? Seriously though. I didn't win anything because my goal was to enlighten people to the importance of O-line. At one point I didn't get it either. Someone educated me and I am the better for it. I used to think all we needed was a QB, or a hot WR or a better RB. Sometimes it's a lot of "what came first the chicken or the egg" but pretty much across the board good offenses, successful QBs and RBs have good O-lines. They go hand in hand.
  21. QUOTE (bonzaibills @ Jan 28 2010, 09:35 AM) * McGahee in 3 years with the Bills: 3,365 yds 24 td McGahee in 3 years with the Ravens: 2,422 yds 26 td Sure, his ypc is up these days, but I'd have to believe that Ray Rice beating the crap out of the defense all game might have a little something to do with that. Thanks for that. I hadn't even thought of receiving TDs. Just more proof.
  22. Some good thoughts and examples there. I really think we need to go O-line but I can never really argue with going drafting defense as long as it is not MORE help in the secondary. LOL. I think we will have a shot at the #3 tackle at worst. That may be Bulaga or that other guy who is supposed to go before we get a shot at him. I'm just against going QB in the first. Whoever we get we have to play. I haven't checked but I doubt many QBs taken in the top 9 picks in the draft didn't end up starters by the end of the year. It's not like we have an ok offensive line we can get by with. OURS IS TERRIBLE. If that wasn't the case a QB is more of an option.
  23. I think a lot of people have also abandoned this forum for lack of intelligent opinions or an over abundance of uninformed ones. Well...that and no one ever admits their wrong even in the face of factual presented and linked evidence.
  24. Read the rest of the thread! LOL. I ALREADY MENTIONED THOSE 2 GUYS MYSELF AS BEING THE EXCEPTIONS TO THE RULE!!...well I think it was this thread. In any case here it is again. Big Ben is just too big and tough to be taken down by many CBs and smallish LBs. Aaron Rogers is just damn good and wasn't it interesting to see how much better he played once the team had that talk and the sacks given up by the offensive line dropped in number?
  25. YA!....Screw this guy. We wouldn't want some fat, bloated, Vince Wolfork type future pro bowl run stuffer on our team....GOOD RIDDANCE!! Stopping the run is one of our defenses strengths!!!! We should be freakin ECSTATIC if this guy dropped to us in the 2nd round. Instant 3-4 defense if we end up going that route.
