  1. Anyone paying attention absolutely would. Since Tyrod became the starter in 2015 he has outperformed Flacco. I think the Ravens wish they had Tyrod over Flacco and his bloated contract. Contract aside as per your statement: Tyrod since 2015 (32 games) : 206.89 passing yards per game on 27.97 attempts per game, 246.06 combined yards per game, 7.34 ypa, 41 passing tds and 51 total tds, 13 ints, 62.7 qbr, 96.06 qb rating, 64.16 completiong % Flacco since 2015 (29 games) : 257.7 passing yards per game on 39.7 attempts per game, 260 combined yards per game, 6.16 ypa(!), 37 passing tds and 42 tds total, 31 ints, 44.57 qbr, 77.27 qb rating, 63.4 completion % Flacco is the wrong example to use. Tyrod is a much better qb than him. He got hot for one super bowl run (he can thank the Denver DB for a terrible misplay) and has lived on that reputation since. The numbers are right in front of you. Tyrod has better ypa, more tds passing, more tds total, less ints, better qbr, better qb rating, better completion %. Tyrod has outplayed several "franchise qbs" since he took over the starting job.
  2. Put me in the camp of last gaga not being a lady. I have a young daughter who loves timberlake. he is incredibly talented. His stuff with Andy Samberg and jimmy Fallon is fantastic and that doesn't count the music which although it isn't my taste is wildly successful as well. He's talented and pulled better tail than you stop hating
  3. Citing Eli (252), Flacco (270), and Wilson (264) discredits your posting. That is there per game average last year. Even better Eli had 4 games over 300 last year, Flacco had 4 and Russel had 3. So each threw for less than 300 yards in 75% of their games. Again 300 is some random cherry picked mean nothing number and a full 75% of the time guys you are touting aren't reaching it. Further TT outplayed ALL of those guys last year and so far this year. Did you see Flacco this week? How about Eli or Russel the first 2 weeks? Watch the rest of the league.... Edit: Did more digging Luck 5 games over 300, Big Ben 4, Rodgers 6, Stafford 4, Matt Ryan 5. Blake Bortles had 5 as well clearly he is a superior qb to TT, Big Ben, Stafford and others...
  4. DiMarco's bread and butter is that catch. No idea why it wasn't him there.
  5. I love this idea of being offended FOR veterans. Not all veterans care and many that I have talked to support the right to protest but not all. That's the thing everyone can have their opinion on this and even voice it. That is what the flag represents. That is what the anthem represents. I stand and honestly get chills EVERY time I hear (which is quite often due to being a sports official). I don't really care if others do and definitely don't care to get upset on someone else's behalf. That is their right as an American period.
  6. Yeah but what girl is he going to bring to the Super Bowl party. We are all dying to know...
  7. Yeah the whole going to the ground was what caused it to be incomplete but if it is consistently applied then Tolbert is a non-catch as well. Think Calvin Johnson a couple of years ago on a catch IN the end zone.
  8. He doesn't look like what they want their qb to look like. I'll leave it at that... I don't agree at all see below... I might be one of the bigger TT defenders on the board. I'm fully on board with a first round qb still. The position is that important and the Bills have a ton of draft capital. However I don't want the Bills to move on from TT until the first rounder or draftee proves that he is the better option. So grab a guy and make him earn it. I'm comfortable with TT as the starter until something better comes along or the young guy passes him in ability. If TT ends up getting "it" then awesome and would be a good problem to have. I'm dreaming of a Brees/Rivers scenario but that would be absolutely best case.
  9. Agreed I think it was a td but also wouldn't be surprised if they didn't overturn it. I was however shocked by the overturning of the Sanders catch which I thought was a catch and then fumble.
  10. How about the Russel Wilson led Seahawks or the dead body of Peyton Manning? Is that not recent enough for you? I brought up 2 other guys and much more recent. I'm working on another perspective post but haven't had too much time this week to get it out yet. However last year while I was doing them there wasn't really a correlation to passing for 300 yards and winning. Rushing for more than 100 yards however did. Think about this, what teams pass? The teams losing for the majority of the game and in catch up mode. Much like great teams usually have "poor pass defense" because teams pass against them so much as they are behind most of the game. Here are 300 yard passers for 2017 12 - 11 is the record. So 47 games with 94 qbs and 23 of them passed for 300 yards. That's 24.4% of qbs. So 75% of qbs aren't throwing for 300 yards through 3 weeks. Further Carson Wentz (2), Aaron Rodger (3), Carson Palmer (2), and Tom Brady (2) are the only qbs in the NFL to do it more than once. Digging even further Carolina and Denver are both in the top 10 for passing yards allowed and the Jets are 13th. This is 100000000% correct. We have an emotional attachment to Tyrod's performance and therefore are much more critical of him without paying attention to the state of qb play around the league.
  11. I was wondering about this call. I almost thought it was a designed look off pass to clay. That is the type of play call I love for Tyrod. It gives him so many options for whatever the defense gives him.
  12. I'm disappointed in myself but before that 4th down play one of my thoughts was c'mon Tyrod make this throw so I don't have to listen to the insanity of "time to start Peterman" and "Tyrod is a backup at best in this league" and that I could visit tbd. That is a 40 yard throw he missed by a little bit if it was his fault or not at all if it is on Zay (I'm in the camp of we will never know) and in the SAME GAME Cam missed a 5 yard throw to seal the game and crickets. Eli has been on primetime and looked at least as bad as Tyrod including a self sack and crickets. Dalton has led a historically bad offense that got the oc fired after 2 games and crickets. I started the weekly thread as I know people don't have time to watch and it's beyond frustrating listening to uninformed opinion after uninformed opinion when the information is right in front of them!
  13. Dud of a match-up. I honestly don't know what the networks were thinking with their prime time game selection. I was looking last night: Week 3 Thurs SF-La Rams - nobody cares about this game SNF Raiders - Redskins - maybe a good game MNF - Cowboys - Cardinals - I see why they scheduled it but Palmer is done Week 4 Thurs Bears - Packers - maybe if Trubisky was starting SNF Colts - Seahawks - maybe if Luck is playing MNF Redskins - Chiefs - Redskins twice in 2 weeks? You like that? Week 5 Thurs Patriots - Bucaneers - actually an intriguing matchup good choice SNF - Chiefs - Texans maybe if the Texans had a qb MNF Vikings - Bears they better hope Trubisky and Bradford are playing here or else nobody will watch this Week 6 Thurs Eagles - Panthers - I'm interested could be a good one SNF Giants - Broncos - lol the Giants burnout will be reflected in this. Nobody wants to watch that again. MNF - Colts Titans - I get why the natchup was made but they better hope Luck is back or its another dud. 12 games and 4 games that are intriguing and maybe a few more that will turn out to be. Get ready to hear more about the downturn in ratings.
  14. I sent you a pm. YES!!!!!! I started a thread the last 2 weeks to show this. Here is this weeks Here is the part about Tyrod and this is after the terrible showing this week. Tyrod is 22nd in ypa ahead of Eli, Kirk Cousins, Dak Prescott, Andy Dalton, and Russel Wilson Tyrod is 17th in QB rating ahead of Cam, Eli, Cousins, Mariota, Dak, and Russel Wilson Tyrod is 13th in completions over 20 yards ahead of Eli, Rivers, Flacco, Stafford, and Russel Wilson. Tyrod is 11th in td% ahead of Brees, Cam, Matt Ryan, Dak, Jameis, A Rodgers, Cousins, and Palmer. Tyrod has a better int% (both of these numbers - td and int - take in to account attempts per) Aaron Rodgers, Dak, Wentz, Eli, Flacco, Palmer, and Dalton Those are a lot of "franchise QBs" that Tyrod is performing better than. Obviously there are several guys that he is only better than at 1 or 2 statistics which don't mean much but Eli, Cam, Flacco, Dak, Andy Dalton, and Russel Wilson all appear in multiple statistics. The Seahawks, Giants, and Bengals have all looked terrible on offense this year. The Bengals were the first team in almost 70 years to not score a td in their first 2 home games! Admittedly the Hawks and Giants problems can be traced to o-line at least imo. However people are so emotionally invested with the Bills they argue every tiny mistake and every mistake is magnified. I get it but perspective is needed when it comes to qb play around the league. The other issue is all of us having watched Brady skews what a qb can do. I put it elsewhere but a qb isn't the end all be all for the super bowl. Just recently the corpse of Manning won a Super Bowl, Russel Wilson won a Super Bowl in a year where he averaged 175 yards passing through the playoffs including a 103 yard passing game, Joe Flacco who has inarguably performed worse than Tyrod since 2015 has won one, Colin Kaepernick went to one, and Rex Grossman went to one. This isn't ancient history either this is all within the last 10 years. Brady/Manning/Roethlisberger have ruined perspective for many Bills fans.
  15. I don't understand your logic here. So with great coaching Dalton has done well and struggled without it?
  16. Cam didn't look good last year either before the injury. I think it was in this post but he has played at almost an identical level as Tyrod. He is way more talented and accomplished way more in this league that Tyrod but since the start of last season they have played at about the same level.
  17. On the flip side, Tyrod is on his 3rd oc in 3 years, has a terrible right side of the line, no aj green, no good wrs to lose, and Charles clay. That to me is a wash. I will say Dalton was lights out and looked to have turned the corner before his freak injury. He hasn't looked the same since.
  18. my apologies then. I know you were talking about enjoying a tough defensive battle and defended Watson I missed out on the context though. Again my apologies and respect to you. I thought Sundays game was more a defensive battle than Thursday. It was a clean game with zero offense. Tyrod was bad, the playcalling was bad, and Carolinas defense was great. Conversely Cam was bad, Mccaffery was bad, and the Bills defense played well (I think they got bailed out a few times like Cam missing the wide open game winning td). The game Thursday was sloppy and ugly play moreso than a great defensive battle imo.
  19. I've been banging that drum for a while. I've even begun a weekly thread devoted to what goes on around the NFL to try and show people what some of the supposed "franchise qbs" are doing in the league. Add Cam to the list since the start of last season btw. Even GunnerBill who I respect as much as any poster here defended Deshaun Watson and the game on Thursday night while crushing Tyrod and the game on Sunday. I get it though patience is gone after 18 years and either anger or apathy have set in for most of us. The offense taking a step backwards when most of the major players are there is a tough pill to swallow. The pendulum has now swung to defense outplaying the offense. That lies in the scheme to me and Dennison. However I have a feeling this defense is going to perform poorly against good passing teams. This was my biggest problem with the Sammy trade, it sucked the excitement for the season out before it even began. usually we get until late October before that happens!
  20. Agree about the picture not forming yet. I just go crazy when the firm narratives are driven without paying attention to the rest of the league.
  21. Yeah 10 years later Payton isn't quite as innovative. It blows my mind they can't put a defense around Brees. With a qb like that I would expect the team to kind of skimp on weapons and beef up the d but so many of their defensive fa signings don't work out. Eli is playing bad but his o-line is doing him no favors. If you watched last night you saw a ghost sack him. He feels pressure that isn't there which is never good for a qb. Agree about Palmer he wasn't good last year. I can't believe the Cardinals brought him back as the guy. The Chargers not selling out the first game ever is incredible to me. I don't know if it is an indictment on Spanos, the league, or Carson but a bad look either way.
  22. I said it last week and will say it again. He is vastly over rated. He completes less than 60% of his passes for his career! He can be electric and lights out. He is incredibly talented. However the production hasn't been there since the Super Bowl season. That season the Panthers got to play an incredibly easy schedule against the AFC South (won by the 9-7 Texans) and NFC East won by the (9-7 Redskins) who featured 6 teams that finished .500 or worse. Then their division which had an 8-8 Falcons, 7-9 Saints, and 6-10 Bucs that he got to play twice. That is 14 games against teams that finished .500 or worse. They played the Seahawks and Packers who finished 10-6 to round out their schedule. He won MVP and put up huge numbers but that was an incredibly lucky schedule. I agree that when engaged he is fantastic but there are too many games like this weeks littered through his career to say he is a top 5-10 guy. He can play like the best QB in the league as we saw in 2015 but last year and this year so far he has performed as somewhere around the 20th best QB in the league. Without going through names he falls somewhere around 15 for me give or take.
  23. Back again and I waited for all of the games to be played. This post is meant to give perspective of things happening around the NFL. After this weeks ugly performance and following meltdown here I think this might help a bit. Tyrod (and the entire offense) played terribly no excuses let me get that out there before I begin the post. This is meant to supply perspective as many people don't have the time to pay attention to the rest of the league and expect perfection from the Bills while not paying attention to the rest of the league. I will focus offensively on teams with supposed "franchise qbs." since Tyrod is the worst qb in the NFL and has played himself out of a job already. So here we go: Even with the 3 points scored in game 2 the Bills are still averaging more points per game than preseason playoff picks Cincy, NYG, Seattle, and Houston. Buffalo sits at 27th in passing yards per game ahead of Baltimore (Flacco) and Seattle (Wilson). Buffalo sits at 24th in ypg ahead of Carolina, Seattle, Cincy, NYG, among others. Buffalo still sits at 8th best rushing team in the NFL. Buffalo sits at 14th in 3rd down conversions (40%) ahead of KC, Dallas, Seattle, New Orleans, NYG, Washington, Pittsburgh, and Cincy. The offense was bad make no mistake but surprisingly even with the small sample size skewing numbers for all teams the Bills find themselves middle of the pack. This Denver game though might push these numbers down even further Now for the hot button guy: Tyrod is 22nd in ypa ahead of Eli, Kirk Cousins, Dak Prescott, Andy Dalton, and Russel Wilson Tyrod is 17th in QB rating ahead of Cam, Eli, Cousins, Mariota, Dak, and Russel Wilson Tyrod is 13th in completions over 20 yards ahead of Eli, Rivers, Flacco, Stafford, and Russel Wilson. I wonder if their fan bases are pushing for the backups to come in? (I keed I keed) Team Defense Buffalo has the 2nd best defensively in ypg. Only behind Carolina. Buffalo has the 8th best passing defense (Carolina 2nd). Buffalo has the 5th best rush defense. Buffalo is giving up the 4th fewest ppg defensively (Carolina 1st). McDermott and Frasier have this defense turned around quickly however it will be interesting to see what happens to these numbers especially the pass defense as there are several excellent qbs coming up. Huge indictment of Rex imo. So I hope after reading through this you see that even in a transition year the Bills are right about middle of the pack (so familiar) and the sky isn't quite falling as much as maybe you thought. We will see what week 3 brings as that Denver defense is SCARY! Go Bills! Tyrod played terribly no excuses.
  24. Teddy Atlas went in on her last night. I think he knew this was boxings chance to capitalize on the mayweather McGregor momentum and they blew it.
  25. I don't know how sds or mods feel about that sort of thing so I kind of operate on the "if you don't know it's okay, don't do it" principle. it's in your pms tho
