  1. Can I get some idea why AD Mitchell is ranked higher that Xavier Worthy?

Worthy has the production and speed.  Mitchell has the size and very good speed as well.  Does it really just come down to height and weight?

Over many years of following the draft,  one thing I've learned is that the depth always hollows out earlier than it seems like it should.  In this draft,  the WRs, in particular,  will go higher than people think.

I actually think the opposite.  Since this is a Bills fan site, the WRs in this draft are going much earlier than I believe they will in the real draft.  The GM for the team drafting in front of the Bills admitted to picking Legette just so he wasn't an option for the Bills.  The trade back almost worked perfectly as Legette was the 2nd leading vote getter in both v1 and v2.  There is a dead spot in round 1 where from picks 11-28 only really the Jags look like a team that may take a wr.

I’d be thrilled with Legette and Franklin

Perhaps Xavier at 28 and then move up from 60 for Franklin?

Or if Beane is confident both make it to Round 2, trade down with WSH or CAR and hopefully pick up a 3rd

Analytics really seem to love franklin this year.  Pff has him very highly rated as well.

I suspect he'll win the poll because everyone knows safety is a need. I just personally have no interest in drafting a safety anywhere in the top 75 picks. It's too easy to find good players at that position later in the draft. Especially in McDermott's defense we don't need studs at the position, just smart players that can learn the defense and stick to their zones.

I love Bullard here.  I also dont think the team should try to find a diamond in the rough if the opportunity to get a very good player presents itself like it has here.  Bullard would immediately jump into the starting lineup and upgrade the position.

Value and need matchup nicely here.  Do you really want to lean on a 4th round or later rookie starter? I don't.  Add in that I like Bullard as a player and this was an easy choice for me.

  5. @Alphadawg7 and the cardinals are back on the clock (dang dude leave some picks for the rest of us lol).

With the 34th pick the new england patriots waffled an awful lot on this pick but ultimately settled on Xavier Worthy WR Texas.

I get that ad mitchell looks like a better football player but worthy has produced more over his career.

My favorite trait of Worthys is how he sets up defenders to miss.  Sometimes he changes speed, sometimes jukes but you can tell he understand how to set up the defender and then take advantage of their mistakes.

I wanted to go ot here but the value didn't match the pick.  Then I waffled between McConkey and Worthy.  For all the injury concerns with Worthy, McConkey has actual dealt with them.

I'm curious.  Were you considering WR?

No i was thinking about cb there but ultimately decided ot was more important.  After grabbing flowers last year I will be very surprised if the Ravens go wr again in round 1 especially since flowers was a hit.

Wr is certainly in play in round 2 and beyond I just think ol made more sense.

Wow, 30 whole minutes have passed and @section122hasn't made a pick yet.  I guess he doesn't care about this

    😈

😂 I have to do SOME work at work lol.

With the 29th pick the Ravens select JC Latham OT Alabama.

The Ravens already traded their RT and are all of a sudden long in the tooth along the offensive line.  Latham is a mountain of a human at 6'6 and 342 pounds.  We thought about the best available as CB is also a need but are going to play into the team's strength and protect our MVP.

@NewEra and SF are on the clock.

We have one trade back offer with the Packers:

    Green Bay would do 41 (490) and 58 (320) and 88 (150) for 28 (660) 60 (320)

You good with closing the poll at 3p est?  I think we have enough information

Set to close at 3.  I narrowed it down to the 2 options if anyone feels strongly either way make sure you get in your vote.

Anyone who voted for any of the other options please recast your vote.

FWIW I would do that trade lol.

If it's for a QB then throw out your sheet. If Penix or Nix are there someone will want to get them in round 1 to get the 5th year option

While I agree you throw out the sheet, I still think it is a difficult proposition.

Drafting after the Bills are the Lions, Ravens, Chiefs, 49ers, and Panthers.  All are set at QB.  Then you have NE (likely drafting one in the top 3 and if not are you going to help a division rival?), Cardinals (set), Commanders (def taking one at 2), Chargers (set), Titans (first maybe but very doubtful after they took Levis last year), Panthers again, Commanders again, and Packers.

Just looking at the 2nd round, the first team that might think about QB is the Falcons at 43 (invested in Cousins or the Raiders at 44 (if they didn't take one of the 2nd tier guys in the first).

I still think your original premise of just trade back 5 spots for an extra 3rd is flawed at best if not a pie in the sky dream.

I forgot to mention, we can’t draft the same player twice.   Can you please remove AD Mitchell?

We already know that’s the preferred pick, so this is meant to be what our second option would be.

My apologies for not mentioning that sooner

This is why I think the Bills like Franklin from Oregon. His tape looks fairly similar to Diggs IMO

The players Carolina wanted are gone.  We tried to trade up, but were denied.  At this point, we’d have only cared to get a 5th year option on a QB, but they are all gone too

I took him out and added some people back in just in case people didn't want to vote for Legette.  It was a pretty tight race between them this time and last time though so I don't think too many people will end up caring about the minor mix up.

Trade back 5 picks and get a 3rd and then use the 3rd to trade up from 60 to around 35 and get 2 of those guys

This isn't realistic.  Going back 5 spots nets you an early 4th rounder.  The first realistic chance to get a 3rd rounder is dropping to 36 and getting the literal last pick in the 3rd (100).  You could also do 40 and 78 for 28 and 133 but that is a large drop back.

I think the best way to help Bryce out is to protect him. Ekwonu gave up 11 sacks last season. When your left tackle can't pass block anyone with any speed off the edge it doesn't matter who is playing receiver. But again it kinda depends who is on the board.

I 100% agree with you.  I just think their owner values style over substance lol.

  13. 9 minutes ago, GunnerBill said:

Carolina and Washington for OTs is the other possibility. Because there is that run behind us - Baltimore, San Fran, KC who are all in the OT market. Really depends how many have gone and which ones are left.

Washington I could see especially with their 1st round qb.  40 and 78 for 28 and 133 match pretty well point wise.  Dropping 12 spots though would be worrying for me.  I could see any of the Ravens, Panthers, Chargers, Patriots, and Titans taking a WR.  Possibly even the Lions and then that cupboard is looking pretty bare.

Carolina I think will be going WR to help out Young in any way possible.  There are a few teams/picks I feel strong about and that is one of my strongest feelings.  OT isn't splashy for Tepper and their receiving corps is terrible.  Thielen is way past his prime (although he surprised me last year), I probably like Diontae Johnson more than most but his hands and attitude are certainly a question.

  14. 2 minutes ago, GunnerBill said:

All 5? Six QBs have gone.

Fat fingers lol. I will be surprised in the real draft if one of those guys isn't still sitting there however I didn't really hate any of the logic/fits for people and where they went so perhaps I will be wrong.

I think the best chance the Bills have of a trade back is someone coveting a qb.  Without that bait I don't see it.  Also as I mentioned, I really don't see how the value lines up to get a 3rd back.  If they do trade back, it will be for an additional 4th which maybe gets paired with 60 to trade back up but I'm not sure I just don't see a good trade back partner/scenario.

If @Virgilcan package those two Carolina picks in the 2nd for our third and first I think it is worth it. That 5th year option for Carolina is important, especially if you want a QB this year. The problem is there isn't a good QB for you... so... hmm.

@Alphadawg7 the 1st for our first does not get us in the second. we need youth now.

I think all 5 qbs going already really puts a damper on any trade back prospects.  Maybe maybe someone trades up for an OT but there really aren't any players standing out on the board at a premium position.  If someone does come up it likely would be for their choice of WR which I don't know the Bills should do.

Also to get a 3rd back in comp, they would have to move pretty far back when you look at the trade chart as there isn't a natural partner where value is equal or better.

I voted Worthy.  Can anyone voting for AD Mitchell tell me why you want the less productive guy from the same team?  It seems strange to me.

  16. AD Mitchell won the v1.0 draft.  Please note the trade back option.  If you are a team interested in trading up please send @Virgil and @Alphadawg7 your trade proposal.

If the player you want isn't listed in the poll please put their name in the post below and I will add them if their is enough interest.  Poll will be pared down as needed.  If the player you originally voted for has been removed, you can vote again.

Here is the link for the draft as it is ongoing:

OFFICIAL TRADE:  Cardinals and Giants are swapping picks and @BuffaloBillyG and the New York Giants are now on the clock. Details of the trade below.

    Cardinals send:

    #4, #138, #162 (1863.6 value points)

    Giants send:

    #6, #70, and #107 (1920 value points)

The cards are seeking 3 first round picks to come off of 4.  I would be shocked if they gave up on MHJ for this little of a return.  I understand the points work, I just don't think they would do this.

That said, they are still positioned to get Nabers at 6 and got extra ammo.  5 has to go to Minnesota for a QB now which leads the Cards to safely still get a great WR prospect so maybe it isn't as crazy as I think.

My point, in sum as you didn't read the thread, or maybe didn't comprehend it, is the Diggs thing is overblown by the media.

I was fully on board with this statement right up until the Bills paid an extra 3 million this year to have him off of the team as opposed to on the team.  I was 100% certain there was no way they would trade him as financially it didn't make any sense.

I have no idea what was true not true in regards to the media stories.  I have no idea about the relationship between Josh and Stef.  I do know if a team eats 31 million dollars to move on from you and it costs more to not have you vs having you, they don't want you.  That is indisputable to me.

Naturally that leads me back to wondering how much fire their was to the smoke.

  19. @Alphadawg7 and the cardinals are on the clock.

Well I was fully ready to select Jayden Daniels here at this pick but he has already been taken.

With the 3rd pick, the New England Patriots select Drake Maye QB UNC

While there was an offer to trade back, getting a qb in this draft is the highest priority for the Patriots*.  Maye isn't my favorite prospect in the draft which means he will probably be a stud (I hated Herbert coming out).  That said Maye has a strong arm for those cold NE winters and still has room to grow.  He is lethal up the middle of the field and can throw at different speeds and arm angles.

The new rankings reminded me of a comment I wanted to make about Mock1, I was surprised RB Jaylen Wright wasn't picked. Someone will covet that speed at the position.  I was considering him at 68 for the Pats  because of the run on WRs.

Ps. Not that I put much stock in his Mocks, but Reuter has a new 5-round mock out and he as the Bills taking my guy Tez Walker at 60.

I only looked at wrs bc that is the position that interests me the most for obvious reasons.

MHJ and Nabers stayed the same.  However almost every other wr moved up in the overall rankings.

McConkey went from 43rd and the 8th wr to 31 and the 6th ranked

Roman Wilson had a big jump from 68th to 51.

The later guys are where the big jumps really happened. Jalen McMillan from 98 to 74, Javon Baker from not in the top 150 to 85, Jermaine Burton from 118 to 95, etc.
