IMHO he has no role here, I personally doubt we keep more than 5 WRs as it is with all the bodies we have in the secondary and DL now.  So, I can’t see him coming back unless he’s willing to do it as a backup who doesn't get many snaps/targets.  I would think he wants a place where he will get more opportunities than what the Bills WR room offers him right now.  I wouldn't be against bringing him back as depth, but I just think he is going to prioritize a place where he can at least compete to start.

I wouldn't be against bringing him back as depth, but I just think there are better opportunities for him at this point in his career.

I will honestly be shocked if he isn’t a Steeler or Giant before the end of this week.  They both wake way too much sense right now

I agree fully with the bolded which is why I said he would need to be out of options.  I do think it would be the best place for him as he would fit into the role he belongs in as a 4thish receiver.

Steelers and Giants make sense from a roster pov however Steelers have no QB and the Giants are a mess.  I agree those are probably better spots for him from a financial perspective.  I am very interested in who will bring him in.  Saints are another team that could take a shot at him but again, terrible qb situation.

I could see him finding his way back here but to your point I think he has to try a couple of other places first.  If I were him though, I would give it another go with Allen and see if I couldn't trick another team into a large payday lol.

  2. I think he is looking at a few options:

Giants - Daboll and Chad Hall.

Pitt- just traded Pickens so they have a spot open and he played one of his best games against them.

Patriots - Money to burn and a distinct lack of WR talent

and that is just off the top of my head.

I could see him coming back to the Bills if nobody else wants him but I think that would be a last ditch move on his behalf (albeit probably his best chance to be productive).  I think Buffalo would welcome him back on a cheap deal and I wouldn't be against it.  I didn't love him as the #2 WR but I do think he is a very good WR 3 or 4.

Can anyone speak to whether or not Brady has less option routes that the EHP system?  He really struggled reading coverages correctly which led to a lot of the issues between him and Allen imo (eagles game immediately springs to mind).

  3. As my name might suggest I loved sitting in the endzone.  We were right in the middle of the row 2 or 3 rows behind the top of the tunnel.

I learned football strategy from madden (yes I know but seriously alignments, gaps, route trees, etc.) And that view is what I was used to.  High enough to see yards gained, always the first to know if a fg was good or not, and added bonus players came and went right in front of us.

That said I also love the 300s for the sidelines over the lower bowl.  It was too hard to see over the players and anything that happened on the close sideline was blocked completely.  Added bonus is the bathrooms at the top of the stadium are the best in the building lol.

  4. I just listened and this is entirely overblown.  He defended not getting a WR but at no time did he start yelling.  I expected this to be way hotter and louder.  When they switched the conversation to defense it was a very cordial conversation.

In hindsight, I wish we would have tried to trade up to 20 to get Harmon.  That was always my draft goal, to get ahead of Pittsburgh because I felt like DT was their choice and others would have gone.

I would have easily given up a 2nd to get Harmon.  We still could have probably traded up and at least gotten Amos, if not another DB.

Nothing against Hairston, but I wanted two impact players, and I feel like all the D-Line impact players are gone now.

Any hope/idea I had of DT being the choice evaporated with Beane's press conference and talking about needing 3 down players.  In hindsight I love the Hairston pick as a chess piece to matchup with Tyreke and Worthy.  That is a trait that was sorely missing from the secondary.

So funny, if you took this poll 2 days ago, Hairston wouldn’t have been top 4 or 5. I’m not saying he shouldn’t have been but Amos, Emmanwori, Campbell, certainly Johnson and probably Green would have gotten more votes. We just did this exercise. I like the pick. The voting here is hilarious though.

I have to imagine there is quite a bit of "in Beane we trust" with this voting.  Also I think people likely hadn't dug into Hairston as much prior to him being the pick.  As I mentioned above to Virgil, in hindsight a guy who can matchup with 2 speedsters we see at a minimum 3 times a year is a really important piece to have.

  6. @GunnerBill great work as always....

The Jets pick is interesting to me.  I wonder how much Glenn will mirror Campbell's time.  They selected non premium positions if they were the best players and had an excellent TE with Hock first then LaPorta.  The more I think about it, the more I like it.  I originally pegged them as OL but could see it.

It looks pretty certain I am losing my bet with @Kirby Jackson re: Shedeur but I am surprised to see only 1 QB in the first round.  Depending on how the board falls, I am almost expecting another Bills trade down (which I would support depending on how things shake out) so someone can come up for a falling QB.

Maybe the Eagles take a corner (but I would be surprised), other than that it goes all the way to the Jags in Round 2 at 36 before another team might take a CB.

  7. Well I tried to trade up but got lucky that neither team went ol.

With the 18th pick the seattle seahawks select Armand Melbourne ot Missouri.

Much needed help along the oline and the seahawks are very happy to stop his fall.  I think he goes much earlier than this on Thursday so I'm happy to grab protection for darnold and keep him from seeing ghosts!

Okay, I have to put this out there.

It would take all 3 of our first picks, but should the Bills be calling up with DT Graham on the board?

He could absolutely be the difference maker we need on defense, handles the run and pass.   It would be a huge get for us.

I know this trade up didn’t win the poll, but I don’t think anyone say Graham being here at 10.

It’s possible the Bears to RB here, but this is the sweet spot, IMO.

    Please make your case

Is it weird I would rather try to trade next years first instead?

Will we have our first RB off the board here...

    Begrudgingly yes.

With the 6th pick, the Raiders select Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise St.

He's a great RB and while I don't agree that the RB position is a dime a dozen I do think it would be more prudent to wait.  I just think this is what happens.  Carrol had his best success with a strong run game, Spytek (is there a better name for the GM of Tom Brady's team?) came from UM where they loved running the ball.  Jeanty is a great prospect but adding Mason Graham was also very enticing.  Him with Crosby and Wilkins would be a great defensive front.  That said I try to do what I think the teams will do so I picked Jeanty.

Dane Bruegler compares him to Milano in his ability to recognize plays and fly to the ball. There's a good case for picking him with the first of the two second-round picks, with CB and DT right before and after (in either order). Would be a forward-looking pick. I loved Bernard in 2023, but he was a lesser player last year: small, slow, and injured. A Williams-Schwesinger pairing might be elite in 2026.

Bernard having a down year imo was a direct correlation from Daquan Jones having a down year.  Which is why I think 1T is the most important position to draft and why I am hoping they come away with 2 of them.

With the 40th pick in the 2025 NFL draft, the New Orleans Saints select:  Jaxson Dart, QB, Ole Miss

We already had interest in Dart and considered making a move for him to come in and learn from Carr if he got into range.  But with the unfortunate news about Carrs shoulder putting his season in jeopardy, we increased our efforts to unsuccessfully trade up near the top of the round.  But once the board kept falling our way we decided to stand pat and trust our instincts and are thrilled to see him on the board.

We love the combination of size and athletic ability that really makes him a modern dual threat type QB.  Dart is coming off a college career full of eye popping performances, and we have admired his evolution from raw talent freshman to polished senior where he maintained his aggressive play style while reducing mistakes and turnover-worthy plays.  We believe having someone like Carr to show him how to be a pro is only going to increase his potential and ability to reach it, and we look forward to getting him in here.

@gonzo1105 and the Bears are now on the clock...
