  1. Journalist's often interview many more people than the number they use in their article.
  2. I didn't say that. You made most of that up in your own head. I have worked as a journalist and no editor would ever allow 25 anonymous sources. The way it's supposed to work is that you work hard to get your sources to let you attribute them as closely as possible and have to be willing to not publish people if they won't agree to a level that is sufficient. For example, a former coach says he doesn't want you to use his name, you suggest to use, "a former coach on the Bill's defense" or something like "former positional coach from Carolina". That's not what is done here. The entry level guy who cuts film can be referred to as a coach.. the person selling pretzels can be a team source that passed through one bills drive (oh, every single coach who has ever entered the stadium could also be a coach who has passed through one bills drive.. opponent, interviewee for a position someone who visited the stadium) so you can see why journalists would want to be as specific as possible. That's always been loose in sports writing, but this is egregious. The big reason for this is to allow the reader to gauge how reliable the source is and second.. to examine why the source is sharing this information. In this case, it's sort of odd that it happened a couple years ago and we never heard a peep about it. As you can easily see, I have thought McDermott needs to go for awhile now due to the amount of drama around this team, but I have a strong opinion about responsible journalism and I'm not willing to unhinge myself and forgive bad journalism because it advance my own agenda.
  3. He literally did not say that. Once again, why does everyone else have to do the work for you? Why are you a leech and refuse to do your own work?
  4. That's not true and Dunne doesn't even claim that.
  5. If he worked for a publication that had editors, this never would have been published. You can't have that many sources and not name them.. or even try to accurately attribute them. However, given McDermott's confirmation of the 9/11 reference and the constant drama that seems to surround this team the last couple years.. it's time to move in another direction. The organization needs some fresh air.
  6. Regardless.. there's just too much drama with this team under McDermott. He's got to go.
  7. Is there a single named source among the 25?
  8. Now let's play my favorite game.. Name the magical, mythical expert Football man owner who's had a bunch of success at winning in the NFL
  9. oh, look two accounts with next to no posting history.. posting right after one another.. I wonder what's going on here.
  10. Win. Even with a win.. need Houston, Pittsburgh and Cleveland to lose. Even with Cleveland losing.. that means the broncos win and they have the tie breaker so if the Bills lose they're further out.
  11. In a vaccum, yes, but therumors around the team is basically they were about to have the players revolt if they put Zach on the field again.
  12. The ending to the half was amazing. The jets offense is truly generational.
  13. Waiting for him run to McAfee when he gets hurt trying to come back too soon about how the modern medical industrial complex shot an arrow into his knee
  14. Ya'll ruined an amazing opportunity to have every reply in this thread just be "Yes" and mess with the OP's head.
  15. ~Lifestyles of the rich and the famous They're always complainin' Always complainin' If money is such a problem Well they got mansions Think we should rob them~
  16. You say that with a lot of certainty given that my phone knows when it's turned on it's side and can even tell when I'm laying down. I think you'd be surprised by what they could do.
  17. Jets haven't scored a TD since forever.. of course this defense is the one to give it up.
  18. Modern defenses are not the 3 and out machines we recall from yesteryear. The philosophy now is to let the other team rack up yards and stats. If they want to score, they have to march down the field and stay disciplined and mistake free the whole way. Defenses have embraced that a mistake on offense is much more damaging than a mistake on defense as long as that mistake is not a big play down field. When Dorsey was hired, I expressed concern that he and Josh both are guys who like the 'big play' and I wasn't sure Dorsey would be a good complement to Allen because I didn't think either one could remain disciplined and take what the defense gave them consistently play after, drive after drive, game after game. They get impatient and will try to force a 'big play' even if one isn't there. I was mistaken in thinking that they needed to get Allen to change and accept taking the underneath stuff not as an outlet after several seconds when there's no chance at a big play (and he's been amazing when he does it). I had thought that he'd eventually embrace it. However, It's not in his nature to be that sort of QB and they need to adapt an offense an offense that Allen will run and find a way to deal with the difficulties that if they can't get guys open on the 15+ yard routes that's he going to force it so they need to find someone who's plays don't end up with multiple receivers within a couple yards of each other way more frequently than they should be..
  19. We just saw in the AFC East where a coach hired the GM and the GM fired the coach with Adam Gase and Joe Douglas.
  20. Regardless of the reality of whether McDermott is "the problem".. it's clear there's issues that he can't resolve. The next guy may not be able to resolve them either, but they need to move on.
  21. Davis knows it's a contract year, right?
