  1. Can't recall his name, but a respected Dr. in neurology has made the point most players will not qualify for disability. It's not due to whatever condition they may be in though. Reason they won't qualify is the agreements they made w/ the NFL. More or less, the players agreed to something few will ever qualify for. Junior Seau, if he was alive today, would not qualify for disability.
  2. This isn't Madden football. 7th rd pick at the most. RG3's potential ceiling is getting lower and lower.
  3. Best way to get rid of a person is to simply ignore them. Don't respond to their posts; no matter how ridiculous they may be. Mike Golic called it this morning when talking about Marshawn Lynch. The number one way to keep a person from hammering you w/ questions/remarks is to practically blow them off. Eventually they give up and move onto something else.
  4. Fred Jackson has slowly become one of my favorite players to ever wear a Bills jersey. He plays very well and is all class. Haven't liked a Bills rb this much since Thurman Thomas. And yes, I would puke if Rice became a part of the Buffalo Bills.
  5. Carter can't be happy about his team anymore. Simply terrible. How is what Peterson did not equivalent to what Rice did? In my opinion, what Peterson did is far worse. Sure, two different things happened, but both are beyond sick/wrong. And let me add this has to open a small window for Rice. If it's okay for Peterson to continue playing, why is it not okay for Rice to play? Of course I feel both should be banned from the NFL for life. Just saying Peterson's possible slap on the wrist will make it easier for Rice to get back in the NFL.
  6. For cancer free, 5 years is considered as the minimum. Wording on Kelly's situation should've been different. Hopefully things work out for Jimbo and his family. Let me add things vary from cancer to cancer. Some types of cancer are considered as incurable. As in yes, a person may have gone 5 years w/out a reoccurrence, but w/ the type of cancer they have it may be expected to return w/in x amount of time. It's all based on the type of cancer an individual has.
  7. I grew up hearing it in western New York. Every time I mention it in the south I get a response like seq004's. Have yet to meet a person in the south that has ever used it. I still say it though. Just cracks me up when a person scratches their head and says "Don't you mean rocket science?"
  8. Agreed. When Pegula bought the Sabres, he went in w/ the perception of Lindy/Darcy being in year one. Erasing almost everything they did prior to his ownership. I believe Pegula, if ends up owning the Bills, would give Marrone and Whaley the same opportunity. And I'm all for that. The Bills have been a bit more liberal in the draft/offseason. That's not typical front office Buffalo. Keep Marrone/Whaley. Wouldn't be surprised if they found a way to get back into the first round of next year's draft.
  9. The reason he is a class act can be summed up in two words. Proper parenting. I understand his biological parents are divorced, but to my understanding all four, includes step-parents, did anything and everything to make sure he knew how to practice proper morals and values. He's made mistakes. Nobody is perfect. All in all, the guy is a class act. Not many child prodigies are able to be that.
  10. 15 pages and counting. JohnnyGold has to be enjoying this.
  11. Ha That was funny. Have been a Bills fan for 30+ years. Thought Olberman's comment involving the Bills was hilarious. Partly because it's true. More offended by his attempt to slam soccer. It's a great sport.
  12. Just started reading this thread. Was waiting for someone to say that. It's equivalent to a final play in American football. Clock could be at 0:00 for x amount of seconds. An American football game doesn't end until the final play is over. A penalty can also put x amount of seconds back on the clock in American football.
  13. If I had been that rookie, I would've said no. That is ridiculous. There is something known as common sense. I have no pity for a person that throws away something like this. Simply pathetic.
  14. Agreed. I do think he very well may end up owning a % of the team.
  15. As a Sabres fan, I would love it if he became the new owner of the Bills. Most of us have seen what he has done/doing for the Sabres and the hockey community. And I like to think he'd TRY to do the same for the Bills. So please do not think I do not want Pegula to be the new owner. If he bought the team, they'd probably be playing in Buffalo w/in x amount of years. I'm just trying to be realistic. Pegula seems to have a strong devotion to the Sabres, and that is a good thing. I also believe it's a reason why he won't buy the Bills. It's just a "gut feeling" I have.
  16. I'm not saying that isn't possible. I understand many owners main responsibility is to simply remain rich. And that's it. I'm looking at Pegula only. He does not seem to be the type of guy that will throw money into something and not be highly involved. It's Pegula I'm talking about. Not all owners.
  17. Take a look at what Pegula is handling downtown. Time is money. Buffalo should be grateful for what the guy is doing. And I'm not just making reference to the Sabres. I think it is fine for a person to own two teams. But I have to ask. Have you been following Pegula's ownership of the Sabres? If you have, you'd have an understanding of why it'd be very difficult for Pegula to own the Bills. He is devoted to his hockey team.
  18. There are only 24 hours in a day. W/ everything Pegula is involved with, I just don't see how he'd have the time to own the Bills. Remember, owner's do have their responsibilities. Staff can only do so much.
  19. He only mentioned the NFL. Didn't say football as a whole. In my opinion, the NFL game has changed far too much over the years. A change in the wrong direction. If the Bills left Buffalo, I'd have no interest in it. I enjoy watching high school and college football. I'd continue to watch/support the game at those levels. Just because one doesn't support the NFL doesn't mean they're not a football fan.
  20. Couldn't agree more. In the past there was an understood grooming period for qb's taken in the draft. Not like that today. EJ plays 10 games and people already want him kicked to the curb. Shows you how much the NFL has changed.
  21. When I ran track for Mississippi State, all athletes had random drug test. I was a distance runner, so I drank a lot of water to stay hydrated. Got called in for a drug test. Sample was diluted. And boom, I was being "randomly" selected for drug test left and right. Pretty sure a few of the players at the combine w/ diluted samples did the same thing.
  22. Partly depends on who is available when the Bills are on the clock. If Robinson or Matthews is available, draft him. If not, go w/ Ebron. In my opinion, Ebron is not a top 10 pick. Buffalo may consider trading back a few spots and take him there. W/ a trade the Bills may pick up another 2nd round pick. I can't wait for the draft. It'll be fun to watch.
  23. Shocked when I saw the headlines this morning. Hope he and his friend did not experience any pain. Goes to show we should all be thankful for every day we have. May he and his friend rest in peace.
  24. Incredible game last night! The final play did bring back some bad memories. After the kick, Alabama's crew was on the left side of the field. They did not "fan" out to cover all lanes. Nick Saban called his team out on that. The bad memory I'm making reference to is the Music City Forward Pass. Bills weren't covering all lanes. Got suckered in to covering one side of the field. Not happy w/ Bama's loss. I'm not a fan of them, but it would've been pretty nice to see a team possibly go for a 3rd straight BCS title. Now just in hopes the SEC wins it's 8th straight BCS title. If Auburn beats soon to be ranked number 4 Mizzou, they deserve to be in the title game. Ohio State's schedule was very weak. Plus, they gave up over 600 yards to Michigan yesterday!
  25. People, here's what bothers me. After the great come back drive in week 2, many were saying how excited they were about EJ. After a poor performance in week 3, it's the complete opposite. Doesn't make sense to me. Give the guy time. If he turns out to be what we all hope he turns out to be, great. If not, move on and find another QB. But please, don't change your opinion from one week to another. The guy is a rookie w/ a young/weak team in front of him. Give it time. After time has passed, make your judgement. Don't make a radical move from one week to another.
