  1. It sure is. They have enough data now for that ELO model to be very accurate. Comforting that it picks the Bills Sunday by a wide margin
  2. Buy a FireTV stick from Amazon ($40) or some other capable device, or laptop/tablet I'd have to guess. Quite frankly if I didn't have a firetv stick already I'd just hook up my laptop to the TV via HDMI.
  3. And if you live with any wifi power users like I do, set your router to block wifi for everything except your device during the game. Yeah my wife is going to be pissed but she will get over it
  4. That's just Rex. He runs his mouth and says what the fans want to hear. Paints his pickup and so on. Did the same things with the Jets. That's all part of the Rex Ryan package.
  5. From the Yahoo web page: Roku Press the Home button on the Roku's remote control. Select the Web Video category button in main menu. Select the Yahoo app.
  6. DirectTv will skate because all they have to do is claim that the NFL denied them access to the feed, which I'm sure is true. It's the NFL, if anyone, that is culpable for this.
  7. 9:30 eastern is 8:30 central which is what Chicago is on. Plus it is only on Yahoo via streaming so who knows what bars will be doing that so early on a Sunday morning for 1 game, and the Bills Jags at that. Probably better off bringing a device like a FireTV or laptop/tablet or the like with you and watching it in your room over the hotels wifi. Or asking for the kindness of a Chicago based Bills fan to let you intrude early Sunday
  8. Right from the Yahoo page for Apple TV: For Apple TV 2 and Apple TV 3, select the Yahoo icon from the home page. For New Apple TV, go to the Apple TV app store and search for the Yahoo app.
  9. Got the Yahoo app but see no mention on it yet for the game. Does yours show anything or do we just wait for Sunday?
  10. That's the Dead. This is Bills/Jags
  11. Yeah I was going to suggest that as well. Generally with commercials removed too which is very nice. But being only on Yahoo stream though I'm not 100% sure that will happen.
  12. There are windows apps, even free ones, that can record what is on your screen. But you are right, a timer is too much to expect
  13. That's 6:30 AM in the west remember too. How many out there will get up (or stay up I suppose) to watch a game between the Bills and Jags? Two top teams maybe, but Bills/Jags? Exceptionally light demand is my guess.
  14. Never had any issues with my fridge denying me a beer on any day at any time.
  15. Yeah i have early adopter syndrome for most gadgets But I won't get another unless they open it up a lot more than they do now. A Windows SDK at the very least, not just via chrome. Google is almost as bad as Apple. One guy had a .NET open source thing he had fairly far along, until Google shut him down. Lost a lot of respect for Google at that point.
  16. True enough but I cannot afford to upgrade everything in my house and I do not believe the Chromecast supports it yet. I have primarily a windows household, tablets as well as phones. Casting from Chrome pretty much sucks at least on wifi.
  17. Bills versus Jags will have about the fewest people possible watching at 9:30AM eastern (6:30 in the west) and IS the trial run.
  18. I have wireless N, most up to date. What I'm watching on chrome on the desktop is fine, its when I try and tab cast (which is what I suspect this game would be) that there is a problem. Lots of stutter on the TV. Youtube and things that have support for chromecast built in does work much better. Plus I have lots of people and gadgets that suck up the wireless bandwidth at any given time. FireTV and other devices that get the stream directly rather than indirectly from another device like the chromecast does is just a better design IMO.
  19. So based on the comments in this and other threads, I think it's safe to say that Rex's honeymoon period is over
  20. I have one too and was planning on using it. Any trick to getting the yahoo app on it?
  21. Plus, Chromecast BLOWS in a wifi environment. I would not recommend it at all. The others or firetv (stick or box) are fine. But the easiest and cheapest is a laptop, tablet, or phone with the HDMI connection to your TV.
