  1. Totally feel the same way at the end of the game. That drop felt so deflating...maybe in week 2 but that just can't happen in the conference finals...it felt like the beginning of the end, although we did hang around score-wise but just couldn't flip the script in the 2nd half. KC just felt like they were a better team having a better day. Players, coaches, red zone, all of it. That said I think our ceiling is much higher than what we showed that game and i'm excited for the future of this team. It was a fun year! Winning the division and sweeping the AFCE, watching Josh arrive on the scene, knocking the dolphins out of playoff contention, nationally televised games (although I prefer Sunday 1pm game day beers any day) and winning two playoff games! After all these years is a shame that fans didn't get the gratification of being at the stadium to take it all in, however we still got to experience the best Bills season in recent memory...and your write-ups are a big part of the home experience. Thanks again for the efforts this year Virg! All the best in 2021 and I look forward to the opening week thoughts in September!
  2. Thanks Virgil great summary! I'm very much enjoying watching this season unfold...still a bit tentative and its hard to believe sometimes, but I'm enjoying this ride
  3. That Office skit was good for a smirk or two...I appreciate his creativity there...
  4. Its my Mom's bday Saturday, the family was trying to organize everyone going out for dinner but I immediately kiboshed that plan and talked the wife into us hosting. That said, we need to figure out some eats that will go with the tailgate vibes that can also pass as acceptable to serve the fam. My brother's girls will be coming so I need to confine 6 kids under the age of 9 to the basement so we can focus on the game. My attempt at dry January is going to take a hit on the 4th day...I have a pile of PBR's leftover from the holidays in the garage to finish up anyway
  5. Thank you for these write ups Virg! I always look forward to them...even going back to the "Bill days" these have become part of my complete game day experience...thank you for keeping the tradition rolling. Two in one week is amazing work. Something about that game yesterday just felt special...prime time against America's team for everyone to see. The text messages from friends started rolling in mid-3rd quarter....but the Bills fan in me just couldn't accept this was happening until the final kneel-down. Even the wife (who humors me watching the Bills all these years simply because I do) even commented "geez...their quarterback is really good eh?" ....its been many years since we could say that and it feels great!! It totally agree with you....feels like perhaps the biggest win in 20 years. Happy Thanksgiving weekend down there to you and yours! Go Bills!
  6. I have a soft spot for most of the northern belt teams...GB, CHI, DET, MIN, CLE, CIN. That list ends about there tho.
  7. I was listening to the game on the radio and the announcer stated that on that longer Allen run in the 2nd half that Josh had passed Tyrod's team record for QB rushing in a season...was that officially true? Virgil, thanks for a great season of write ups and keeping them going as part of my weekly Bills experience! Happy New year to you and to all TBD'rs!
  8. This stiff arm run and the Kyle Williams touchdown are probably the two best highlight memories I have of the past few years...I jumped off my barstool in the garage for both...and that doesn't happen too often
  9. As always thanks for the write up Virgil! It was more enjoyable reading your take this morning than it was watching that game yesterday.
  10. This post pretty much sums things up as I see it. Last year was McBean's first go and a "show me" year to see what they had. They decided a full re-build was in order and literally blew up last year's team to eat dead cap and acquire draft capital. 2018 was never about making the playoffs again...this year was guaranteed pain. The older vets they signed were supposed "good character" guys who were necessary to fill out the roster and field a team for the season. Next year the reconstruction starts. As mentioned above there is no guarantee the rebuild will be a slam dunk (like the sabres example) but nothing McBean has done on the tear down makes me think they will automatically blow the rebuild.
  11. In my 20's and single it was a little hole in the wall sports bar that was around back then called Dailey's Cafe. Now in my early 40's with kids and living north of town, Bills games are for the garage on the big screen. It gets me out of the house and a TV all to myself. Lots of good eats and a few of the neighbors pop by and for some pints and Brady trash talk. Sometimes we tinker with a project while the game is on, but mostly its just holding up the bar and lots of PBR. I real am looking forward to the fall!
