Maybe it isn't so much not acknowledging it as not believing the Bills run D is that much improved over last year from adding Dareus, replacing Poz with a 4th in the depth chart GB LB, a and question mark in Merriman. I too am hoping that KC gets a VERY rude surprise tomorrow but they could just as easily be right as wrong. Tomorrow should show us EXACTLY how much improved the run D is. I am very looking forward to it!
What's the mystery? Johnson is trying to get more money now in case he does not cut it as a #1 now that Evans is gone. And Nix wants to see how Johnson performs this season as a #1 before he coughs up any more money. Net result is no contract extension until later. Pretty simple.
ESPN:
Golic (big surprise) and Schefter pick the Bills. The rest (including accuscore and "pick'em") pick KC.
Mortensen went for a couple upsets, Fish over Pats and Sea over SF. But not the Bills over KC.
ESPN Week 1 Predictions
Might not have to worry about that.

I would be shocked if Gailey did not make that statement.
What he actually thinks probably only he (and maybe Buddy) knows.
I have to say he does a pretty good job on the "lead the charge" commercials we were bombarded with this preseason though.
Only 44???? You negative nancy! I see it like this:
Bills return opening kickoff for a TD, + 2 point conversion: 8
Bills D gets one pick 6 per quarter + 2 point conversion on each: 32
Bills O gets two TDs per quarter (only 2 because they feel bad for KC) + 2 point conversion on each: 64
Total: Bills 104 KC 0
The author said he thought it was going to be a close game with KC winning.
Most Bills homers would write the same stuff but give the advantage to the Bills and have the Bills winning a close game.
A KC homer wrote it instead of a Bills homer. That's the only difference.
If you paid $25 for a Chinese one then no matter what happens you will get your monies worth just out of this season.
If you got one from the Bills store, Fitz will probably still be on the team next season as the backup at the very least.
So no, not dumb.
Sigh. Maybe that whaambulance is loud enough that is affecting your brain.
I never said to sign, or not sign, anyone. All I said was signing current players for future years is not a reason for being far under the cap now as the OP suggested. Please read and try and understand something before you complain about it.
No I do not. But I also do not buy the premise of the OP that the current lack of spending is a plan to resign existing players in the future either. Your premise, that they can't find players that will sign with the Bills in order to spend the money makes much more sense in my opinion.
My prediction ... If he blogs that the Bills are on the verge of greatness he is a true journalist who takes the time to analyze a team with great insight. However if he thinks the Bills are stagnant, making bad moves and signing mediocre players and coaches then he is a media hack that goes along with the status quo and hates small market teams in general and the city of Buffalo in particular.
So they do not want to sign better players that could make them a better team now. Instead they want to save the money now so that they can resign the key players from the 4-12 season last year? Even though if they spent the money this year on short term veteran improvements they could cut these players in the future when they needed to in order to fit under the cap? This is your logic? This theory makes the Bills front office seems so stupid that it makes you look like a "gloomer" in my opinion. LOL
I am not privy to the inner working of OBD, but I sure as hell hope you are not correct for the sake of the Bills future!
Say what you will about Sully, he is dead nuts on with this one.
The NFL should be embarrassed about their preseason policies on ticket prices including raping season ticket holders regarding preseason tickets.
Apparently the declared gate was 18,000.
