  1. Well said. But I disagree with the "hate on Losman" part. I never understood that mentality either. He didn't draft himself in the first round, and it is entirely possible that the Bills ruined his career. Hate on the people responsible for drafting him in the first then ruining him (if indeed they did).
  2. Not Cassel. Jason La Canfora ‏@JasonLaCanfora Matt Cassel quickly signs with the Vikings, as long expected, and as first reported by Jay Glazer
  3. And I'm supposed to get excited over a bunch of [slightly] inferior FA signings because the Bills have such a solid roster all they need is depth??
  4. Well, look at the current state of the franchise. That's a easy conclusion to come to. Reasons that come to mind to sign with the Bills ... Money No one else will give you a job You figure you can start on this team and hope to look so good during the season you get the big contract either from the Bills or somewhere else The franchise is a mess. Maybe Marrone can turn that around in a few years. But right now it is a mess. EDIT: Fourth reason ... You believe that Marrone is going to turn the franchise around in a very short period of time.
  5. Currently (1960-2012) 370 wins and 426 losses (I'm ignoring the 8 ties) for a .465 winning percentage I believe.
  6. What they don't (or choose not to) understand is that it is a business to both the team and the players.
  7. If they stick to Nix's philosophy of building through the draft and when you are close to contending supplement with FA's then if all goes well it should start in 3 years or so (maybe 2 if the stars align and God smiles down on the Bills).
  8. If I stumble upon Selena Gomez in my bed I won't remember FA either ... unfortunately both are about as likely to happen. But there is no need for a QB to do that, no one will remember the 1st day of FA by the 1st day of the draft.
  9. According to ESPN: To be honest, if Pettine wants him then I have no issues with the signing. I have at least some confidence that Pettine knows what he is doing.
  10. Very true. But having no viable QB and a completely new coaching staff (again) might be. But I don't believe Buddy is even trying to sign any free agents yet anyway.
  11. Superbowl?? Are you high? They haven't had a winning season since 2004 and that was a staggering 9-7. Brand new and largely inexperienced coaching staff, an aging GM, no QB, and a marketing guy running the team for an owner living on borrowed time. Superbowl? How about the team make the playoffs for the first time in 14 years first.
  12. Anyone good with phone systems? Call Nix and Tebows agent and hook up the lines and get the party started. Maybe hire those deadspin kids to do it. They seem to have Buddy's number already
  13. No worries. That old fox Buddy Nix is playing possum. First he arranges for that phone call recording "leak". Then sits out day one of free agency after losing his RG and cutting the best QB on his roster (not saying it was a bad move for the long term, but he was the best QB on the Bills roster). Don't you see? He is lulling everyone into a false sense of security, then he will pounce in the coming weeks and go FA shopping in the bargain bin to fill most of the holes. Then fill the rest with the draft! In all seriousness, Nix has stated in the past that you build through the draft and when you are close to contending you supplement with free agents. The Bills are rebuilding again and are not close to contending. Nix knows this and is sticking to his philosophy. What seems to be an aberration though is last years free agency, unless Nix really thought they were close to contending???
  14. If you are happy maybe you should flip your avatar I highly doubt that Jauron did, or Gailey and Stache did either. It is clearly a rebuild again. The good news is that player wise at least, the Bills would seem on paper anyway to be better off than when Jauron or Gailey arrived.
  15. Drinking heavily .... remarkably the same thing all the Fitz haters are doing now.
  16. OK, that made me laugh. Thanks Or maybe catfish agents now.
  17. Finally! I haven't seen a good wager post all day!
  18. Bungles resign Geathers. Just scanned down the list of "teams interested" and did not see one Bills logo. Mildly depressing.
  19. Whoops. They changed it to the Titans now! According to nfl.com no deal yet. Ravens still interested and Browns as well. EDIT: Now showing signed by the fins.
  20. I was wondering that too. But the kids called the TB GM and Nix called the kids (returning a call they made), and the kids just made it a conference call i gather. Doesn't sound like wire tapping to me, but I also am no lawyer.
  21. I've heard that a lot the past 13 years. Still waiting for it to make a positive difference.
  22. According to http://www.nfl.com/freeagency it's the niners.
  23. Apparently they tried to do that but Fitz did not agree. Joe Buscaglia ‏@JoeBuscaglia League sources tell me #Bills offered Fitzpatrick a 4-year deal at a $3M base, with opportunity to earn additional $4M per yr in incentives.
  24. The Titans seem to think so. Time will tell I guess.
