  1. What a refreshing new perspective worthy of its own thread. It's not like there is a pinned thread discussing this already or anything.
  2. Man that is the perfect one line synopsis of Spiller.
  3. But if he plays in the NE game and he sucks, the excuse will be that he is still injured (see some of the spiller threads/posts recently). So this year is done for Manuel's evaluation. Let the healing begin.
  4. Maybe this is why you don't enjoy watching him play?
  5. I don't give a !@#$ about the Pats*. What I want is a healthy Manuel next season so the Bills can see what they have in him with no excuses.
  6. Little point in Manuel even playing that game. Just consider him as being in the offseason and get the body healthy. Give Thad an audition for backup and see if he is Thad the Impaler or Thad the Impaled.
  7. Exactly and I'm not sure why this is hard to understand. I enjoy watching the games with my family in the comfort of our home and in 75 minutes considerably more than being there. Some prefer the stadium experience and that is great as well. It's all good as far as I'm concerned. I certainly can understand people not wanting to sit in freezing rain for 3+ hours watching that game. If there is complaining to be done, it should be about the blackout rule. And that has been done to death many times before.
  8. Geez I might not even bother to record and watch the game .... ahhh who the F am I kidding
  9. Nah, no such thing as Christmas shopping anymore in this Amazon age. I'll be watching the game during dinner as usual with my family.
  10. You used to be able to change the zip code on the smart card to get around that with the DTV receiver. Ahhh the good ole days.
  11. Isn't the blackout deadline Thursday at 1pm? I know there are 16,000 tickets left and you would have to be very fiscally irresponsible to buy a ticket from the Bills at full price when you can get one almost free on stubhub. But for Brandon to declare a blackout already?
  12. I went into this season thinking that 8-8 (slow start and picking up momentum the last half of the season) and Manuel steadily showing improvement defined a good season to me. But the team has been erratic, as has Manuel. And the coaching, particularly Marrone and Hackett, has been below my expectations. I would say my expectations were fairly reasonable, and I am mildly disappointed. Next season should hopefully show dramatic improvement across the board.
  13. More "culture" nonsense. This team gets a new coaching staff every 3 years, and lots of new players every year. It's like people think some voodoo priestess put a curse on the ralph or something. If you have quality coaching and players, particularly QB, you win. If not you range from mediocre to putrid. With or without the voodoo.
  14. Like most playoff bound teams, when there is nothing to gain from winning and everything to lose by having starters injured. Being Bills fans though we have forgotten what that is like
  15. Spiller so far in his career rips off some nice long runs, but a lot more of his runs are for little or no gain. It's not a matter of him being hurt, but rather just a fact of life for a scat-back. Hackett not realizing this is far more puzzling.
  16. You can think of "conventional wisdom" as statistics-without-the-math. You know from experience what generally works best without the actual numbers being crunched. But thinking that NFL head coaches base a lot of their decisions on fear of being second guessed is asinine.
  17. Only if the Pats* are playing to win and not playing to not get injured.
  18. Hey, you never know!
  19. No I don't Assuming 16 games per week that's 2.65 million viewers per game average. Even at $5 per game they would need 525000 viewers each. And that's assuming the NFL would get every penny collected, which they would not. There are some large market teams that might be able to average close to that, but not most in my opinion. The hard core fan of football would also balk, I think, at having to pay per game.
  20. Probably sometime Sunday.
  21. If it would increase their profit, then that is what the NFL would do. DTV pays a huge amount of money (over $700 million a year) for the exclusive rights in the United States. A Canadian satellite provider also carries the sunday ticket as well and also at least one cable provider in the great white north. 700 million is a LOT of pay per views
  22. According to sportsclubstats.com: They probably don't assume 50% likelihood though
  23. I suppose a 3rd is not out of the question ... maybe. But higher? Who in their right mind would give that for SJ13? Remember, Buddy Nix is no longer a GM
  24. Possibly, but I generally don't think in terms of contract. Which admittedly is tough in cases like the 100 million dollar man.
  25. Neither actually. I think decent slot receiver who will get you some yards, but chokes on the big plays and is immature for his age.
