  1. I suspect that same conversation was had a year ago from Bills fans about Marrone as well.
  2. God I hope that's not true and one of the criteria for hiring Schwartz in the first place was his ability to largely use the players already in place. It would sadden me if, after all the time and expense of assembling some talent on the defensive side of the ball, they have to retool yet again for Schwartz's scheme.
  3. What about when the Bills fire someone after one year?
  4. Boy that would be a tough pill for him to swallow. The Bills make some good $$$ plus it keeps the Bills season ticket price lower. Giving up both of those things only for a football advantage with no business advantage must go against every instinct in Mr. Marketings body.
  5. If Denver ends up winning in OT I will bet the Madden prediction next year
  6. Oh heck yeah. I am looking at my weather app telling me it is 6 degrees outside right now. Give me Honolulu with or without a all star game!
  7. Yes perhaps. i think it was a monumentally stupid decision to have the SB in a open stadium in the northeast in February. If this years is bad enough I have to assume the same mistake won't happen again. I don't want weather deciding the superbowl. As to why I feel disdain for those that spend thousands of dollars to watch a sporting event, I don't know. It should just be a fool and his money if anything. Probably a character flaw. Not that this has anything to do with Madden picking the superbowl winner. My apologies for the derailment
  8. As has been mentioned in other threads, Schwartz probably wants his own guys so no reason to stop Pettines guys from moving to Cleveland. Jets fans could have made the same statement this time last year when Pettine brought these same guys to Buffalo. Silly me thinking next training camp would be spent watching the offense because the defense would be stable.
  9. Yes, a blizzard, a huge blizzard I say! So much you can't see 2 inches in front of your face and they have to postpone to superbowl Monday! Then on Monday the freezing rain wintery mix they are currently calling for so all the fools who paid thousands of dollars for a ticket can sit in it all day and watch the two teams ice skate around the field. King Roger looks like a fool for having it there. Simple awesome. I'd watch that game start to finish ... even the pregame!
  10. This as well as the O'Neil thing make perfect sense given Pettines long history with them both.
  11. And a good trade with a east coast team for a beast of a running back
  12. But to put things in perspective, the NFL divisional playoff games drew an average of 34.3 million viewers. And the NFC championship game, 55.9 million. I almost never watch all star games as they are pointless. Some of the lead up stuff like the hockey skills contests and hoops slam dunk contests are fun. But the all star games themselves, pass.
  13. Yeah usually that kind of thing is written into the contract in the first place, one way or the other. The same is true of the LB coach they fired recently. Usually if the employer has an out, so does the employee. The NFL is a bit unusual though as they are a monopoly. Agree completely.
  14. Non-compete agreements are largely unenforceable as it violates restraint of trade in most cases. I had a company file suit about that once but as soon as I stood up against it they backed down knowing it was unenforceable. Of course my salary and job profile is not in the same universe as a NFL head coach or coordinator (unfortunately)
  15. My personal opinion is teams should not even be able to prevent coaching moves if the move involves a promotion. That's what the Bills did with Pettine and O'Neil and I am happy they did the right thing. Failure to do so would be akin to a restraint of trade violation which would not be tolerated in a non-monopolistic environment.
  16. Denver by a field goal in overtime.
  17. I couldn't care less what he does now that he isn't with the Bills.
  18. Bring on the freezing rain baby! That's what I want to see!
  19. I had no idea those two went back so far. He was on the Bills only for one season as well. Let the new DC pick his own guys. I don't see this as an issue for the Bills at all, and apparently the Bills agree having granted permission for the interview.
  20. I believe one of the purposes of the Toronto series was an attempt to do the things bolded above. The theory being if the people are interested it makes selling corporate boxes and advertising all that much easier. If no one gives a **** about the Bills in Toronto, why would Toronto based companies advertise with the Bills? The other, and in my opinion the biggest, reason of course is to make the Bills a buttload of cash. And the Toronto series certainly has done that very nicely.
  21. Do you really think Schwartz would agree to come to Buffalo to run the previous DC's scheme instead of his own? I don't. If that's what the Bills had in mind they would have promoted from within. But the Bills got someone with experience and success as a DC. All in all not bad given the circumstances.
  22. I'm sure they had no clue who Pettine was until he was announced. Like a lot of Bills fans a year ago, they wanted a "name". What they also failed to realize is no "names" wanted the job.
  23. I was hoping it was a pic of a smokin hot Jill. Disappointing.
  24. You are obviously very passionate about the Bills and Buffalo. But to players and coaches, football is a business. If you think of it that way for a minute you will understand.
  25. Geez if the Kubiak thing happens and the Browns manage to trade up to get a QB they like (with what, 8 picks in the first 3 rounds that should be possible) they could have something in a couple years.
