  1. I don't think being a player is a requirement for being a good owner. If fact, given the brain damage suffered by players, the exact opposite may in fact be true. Which leads me to believe that the Donald may have played the game at some point
  2. Either am I. How is stating how Trump is a flake and not a viable candidate for owner a tangent? You expressed an opinion on how Trump is a possibility and I merely stated examples why my opinion is that he is not even close. Simple as that.
  3. The Donald a silent partner you ask?
  4. The Donald is also interested in being Governor of NY, President of the US, if Miss America did porn, and whether or not Obama was born in the US. Most of the others mentioned are certainly possible, but not him. If he is Jim Kelly's plan that would be sad.
  5. It's not quite that simple but close. There are other considerations such as contract/cap ones.
  6. Trump will do whatever makes Trump the most money and publicity. He likes Jim Kelly but I don't believe he gives a rats ass about Buffalo or keeping the Bills there.
  7. Same for me. But for me it would be the NHL team , particularly a top tier team, I assume you feel the opposite Time will tell. But it's nice to know there are possibilities that allow the Bills to stay in Buffalo.
  8. That was my first thought as well. But people are going to watch on turkey day no matter who is playing. So why not. But I don't want it because I'd probably have to watch live with all the commercials. I'd rather have it be teams I don't care about so I don't have to pay much attention (basically everyone but the Bills).
  9. The Bills can't pass that up can they? Isn't that part of the whole revenue sharing thing along with parking where home team gets 60% and visitors 40%?
  10. I don't see why not. A domed stadium that could also be used for concerts year round with an attached hotel-casino. Git er done!
  11. Awesome idea except for the fact that owners can't have anything to do with gambling.
  12. This was discussed in great detail in this thread. There is a lot of good information in it. http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/166653-report-lease-buyout-does-not-exist/
  13. Could still be. Note that Mr. Wilson was the sole owner but Mrs. is the controlling (not sole) owner. She could just be the head of the trust which would not be unusual. Not much else is know at this point. But it's a slow news day so this got a lot of traction
  14. http://www.buffalobi...98-b83b955dfec1 I would have quoted the next line in the article as well, but didn't want to get a warning point for quoting too much. But this is nothing unexpected, and certainly is not a guarantee of the Bills staying in Buffalo any more than it is a guarantee that they will leave. Simply part of the process. Go on about your business. Nothing to panic over, or rejoice about here.
  15. This. And you are being extraordinarily generous calling him potentially average. He inherited a good, near Stanley Cup team and turned them into the absolute last place team we see today. That is his legacy. How he lasted as long as he did is a mystery to me. Were I Pegula I would have fired that piece of **** about 2 seconds after I signed the papers making me the owner of the team. !@#$ him.
  16. No decision to be made there. No one in their right mind would give a loan to a group that has "hope" as their business plan
  17. Maybe Rodman could get Kim Jong-un to put up the funds.
  18. Not even close to the same thing. BFA wants to buy the team (which the NFL doesn't even allow any more, so seems kinda pointless) while this discussion (misguided or not) is just about funding a new stadium with no team ownership. EDIT: Oops I take back part of that. BFA doesn't want to own the team, they want to lend another group the money to buy the team. A subtle distinction but at least should be allowable under the NFL rules. Getting it past the other owners is another discussion. http://www.buffalofanalliance.org/buffalofan/The_BFA_Plan.html
  19. How exactly? A new owner will look at the business case and decide to move or not (unless it's a white knight). A shiny new stadium may help if all other things are equal, but chances are any new city would also have a shiny new stadium to offer as well. And Buffalo being what it is, all other things are likely not to be equal.
  20. Yes but where is the fun in that It doesn't.
  21. Born in NY but not WNY, and has his life and business on the west coast. Would probably want to move the team there and can afford the $400 mil penalty. Plus I have never seen any interest from him in sports teams. But yeah a Zuckerberg type that lives in WNY. Anyone know any?
  22. That's an interesting concept. Are there 200,000 people in the world that care enough about the Bills staying in Buffalo to essentially donate $4000 to the cause with no expectation of any return. Assuming that would guarantee the Bills staying if the money was raised.
  23. And in his next breath he said he could not guarantee he would keep them in Buffalo without looking into the business aspects. Which is the most truthful and intelligent statement anyone has made so far on the matter. A bit surprising it came from The Donald
  24. I have stopped going in recent years, but I have gone to many games over the years and had a season ticket for a couple seasons that ended about 3 seasons ago.
