Back in the day, we had our local watering hole called "Shooters" and on Sundays, they would have $1 beers and 10 cent wings. We would honestly be in that place for a solid 10 hours watching football on the big screens, pounding beers and devouring at least 600 wings between the 6 of us.
The place eventually went out of business (i wonder why) and that bar is still the barometer (see what i did there?) for every other establishment i've ever been in throughout my entire life.
We had a college bar that did “drinkin’ on Lincoln” on Tuesday nights. Five dollars for all you can drink domestic drafts and well drinks all night. They also had a wing special. I can’t recall exactly, but I think they were 25 cent wings which was still a great deal at that time.
I think it was late in my junior year or senior year that NYS passed a law making this illegal.-

Some of the best poutine I’ve ever tasted is from a concession stand at a hockey rink up in Highgate, VT. My son plays games up there a couple times per season, and I always get a double order.
My go to bar food is usually wings, but I also love some onion rings when I’m having a few beers. 🍻

Interesting. When you get married you don’t just gain a wife/husband, you gain a whole family. My mother in law drives my wife crazy. They fight like cats and dogs, and can only be around each other for a few hours before they start going after each other.My MIL is kid of a pain in the rear end, and can be really negative sometimes, but she loves me. Perhaps because she raised 3 girls. 😂

He was rarely there, but he’d be there in his Bronco on Fridays to pay everyone. As the only summer college kid there I was teamed with the only Black guy there, a guy named Peter. He was from the low country and spoke Gullah. We were basically unable to communicate with words. For some reason Peter was the only guy to bring his own tools every day. There was a trailer where you could get anything you needed, but Peter was either not welcome to share things from the trailer, or comfortable even broaching the topic. I found it to be eye opening and very disturbing.
There was some crazy heat wave and it was over 100 degrees every day for 3 strait weeks. BRUTAL! Guys were passing out on second floor roofs and falling. Peter was one of the casualties, falling and breaking his arm. I never saw him again, but I did hear that there was no insurance or workman’s comp, so I have to wonder what Ace ever did with him.
I will say, a summer of construction in blistering weather was enough to make me want to finish school and get a job with air conditioning.
I’m sorry. At what point was Peter asked to expose his bosoms? No one offered to buy him an appletini? 😏

I worked construction for 4 summers doing fireproofing. Heard a few “cat calls” to girls walking by the site, but never anything close to this. Weird…

A bit of advice for those who might be pondering marriage. Make sure you do your research about your potential partner, and also do a deep dive into her family history.
Mental health, medical, generational trauma, etc. You’ll be living with much of these factors down the line. Also, what does your potential mother in law look like? Genetics are powerful, and that’s probably pretty close to what you’ll be looking at every day for as long as you remain married. Petty? Maybe so, but true. 😂

I’ve been married for going on 15 years this June. Not all sunshine and rainbows, but I’m very glad I have my wife. So many of my friends have gone through horrible divorces though. Yuck.

Longlegs on Hulu was pretty freaky. Certainly overhyped in terms of scariness, but I’m not disappointed. Nick Cage’s character is terrifying.

Normally I’d respond with a resounding NO, but I’d give up a lot to get Myles Garrett. He’s the type of player that could put this team over the top. No need to make any big moves for the offense, IMO.

That’s funny. My brother, Ben, jokingly asked my son to call him “Drunkle Ben” one family Thanksgiving. My son (15) and my daughter (11) still to this day call him that to this day.-

My oldest named my mother “Mema” and my father “papa” when he was around 18 months old. It just happened. My mom wasn’t too thrilled at first, but it just stuck. 😂
My in-laws already had established names when my son was born bc my wife’s sister started having kids when she was like 17.

Man…if you’re not watching Severence on AppleTV, you don’t know what you’re missing. Currently in S2. The release a new episode every Friday. Just finished E3 last night. I wasn’t sure how they’d build off of S1, but the first few episodes of S2 have been absolutely brilliant.

I said it many years ago, but Syracuse moving to the ACC was terrible for their basketball program. It was the beginning of the end to the program. First couple years they had the residuals of still recruiting as a Big East player, but now that it's been this many years, you are seeing the impact. ACC is a different type of game than the Big East and the type of player you need to succeed in the ACC are not the type of players Syracuse is getting.
It was a necessary evil and mainly benefitted the football team, IMO. I do miss the old Big East. 😢 -

The level of pure physical strength and brutality required to pull off the acts leads me to believe it had to be OJ. Also, all the blood he left at the scene and brought with him in the Bronco and to his house. lol
He didn’t like Nicole flaunting around in that hot black dress. I think he was stalking her all evening while she was at dinner with her family, went to the house to confront her, and (as his agent stated at the end) Nicole pulled out a knife to defend herself. This sent Juice into a fit of rage, and Ron Goldman just showed up at the wrong time. I do suspect that Nicole and Ron were likely more than just acquaintances though. 😉

American Manhunt - OJ Simpson on Netflix was a good watch. Four episode miniseries. I had forgotten a lot of the details, as I was in HS when it all happened. Interesting to hear all the evidence that was not presented in court. Including the man who witnessed OJ ditching the knife at the airport.
Also, I’m positive OJ did it (of course), but I’m also pretty sure the police planted and manipulated evidence.
