This was Jake Paul giving his friend Tyson one last huge payday. He had chances to knock him out and didn't. No one wanted to see Tyson get knocked out and he was not going to do that to him

Exactly right.  Jake Paul made 40 million and Tyson made 10 million off this fight.  Jake could have absolutely murdered him in there, but that was never what this was about.  Say what you want about Jake Paul, but the guy is a freaking marketing genius.

    Of course

My uncle is a professional boxing trainer

    I've always liked pugilism

Paul has hands without a doubt .. I think he's a legit pro prospect and tysons age worries me .. he has power and he is crisp

But a part of me thinks Tyson could be Tommy fury still

Tyson has to sleep him within the first 3-4 rounds, or it’s a Paul Dec all day.  We shall see.  I’m intrigued.

I also am an avid combat sports fan.  What do you think about Jones/Stipe tomorrow?  I predict Jones 1st/2nd round club and sub.

Yea what time in fury is a club level professional boxing

And diaz is a tough as  nails black belt when jiu-jitsu... Who has train boxing and has a good 1-2 and chin

But he's not even a club level pro boxer

Mike could absolutely beat any club level fighter today

I don't think he could beat a contender

Again, I’m not saying that Jake Paul will ever be a cruiserweight contender.  Not a chance.  I don’t think he would win against anyone in the top 25, but people completely dismissing his boxing ability are way off.  He’s low-level, but actually a pretty technical boxer.

And Mike Tyson is old AF.  I’m concerned about his cardio even with 2 min rounds.

Edit: and Nate Diaz is a very good striker, FTR.

I don't think this is a real fight.  I don't think any of Jake Paul's fights have been real fights.  I consider this a sideshow similar to McGregor v Mayweather.  Maybe this one doesn't end up with a YouTuber knocking out a retired has been and both participants in this farce get to look good.  Perhaps a controversial decision.  That would certainly set up well for a 3 fight series.

This is the only scenario that I can see Mike Tyson winning this fight.  If the outcome is pre-determined with the idea of having a rematch.  Jake Paul has stated in interviews that he is making 8 figures just off this fight alone.  I would imagine Tyson is also being paid a lesser but large sum of money.  I’m sure it would benefit everyone involved financially if this fight was a draw or a controversial decision.  Based on pure boxing ability and endurance, Jake Paul should wipe the floor with Iron Mike.  While not “championship caliber” boxers, Jake did perform very well against both Tommy Fury and Nate Diaz.  He’s no push over at all.

  5. I have an office in our school district administrative building that I share with two of my colleagues, but I’m not there often because I’m in the schools working with students.

That said, I prefer having an office outside of the schools so that I have a quiet place where I can do my paperwork without constantly being bothered by teachers and administrators when I don’t want to be.

Tyson is a literal monster. If he still has it mentally (I imagine he does) and he can move his body at all he will overtake him easily. There have been few fighters to ever fight with the rage that Tyson ever fought with in the history of the sport.

Jake Paul (as much as I despise him) is going to win this fight.  With the 14 ounce gloves and 2 minute rounds, I don’t see Tyson knocking Jake out.  I would guess that Mike has 3 maybe 4 rounds in him before he turns to mush.  Wanna bet?  😂

    How about one?

Aren't they retooling Lewis Cine as a linebacker?

This would be somewhat interesting, IMO.  Not on early downs obviously, but an extra safety/LBer in Nickle/Dime packages.  The guy plays physical. 🤷🏻‍♂️

  8. My wife is making her Italian sub dip for the game.  It’s basically all the ingredients you’d find in an Italian sub, chopped up and served with a sliced baguette.  Pretty tasty.

I’m doing eggplant parm for dinner.  Our neighbors just had their baby this week and my wife wants to bring them some food, so a perfect opportunity for me to make a few pans of that with some of my father’s famous garlic bread. 🤌🤌

Now that we have started a new thread for the new year, putting out the request from you guys that have "someone in the know" about potential recruits that can fill out next years class.  I am wondering if there is any info on Anthony and Costanzo??

I haven’t heard a great deal recently, but I do know that Joe Tipton from 247 just gave Cuse a crystal ball prediction.  I would say we have a pretty good chance.  No idea about Costanzo.  I’ll ask around.

  10. I’ve been to a handful for Michelin star rated restaurants in my life, and have really enjoyed the experience every time.

Most recently, my wife and I visited a college roommate of mine in NYC.  One of the nights we went to Thomas Keller’s Per Se and did the 9 course tasting menu.  Just to make reservations I had to put down an $800 deposit (200/person), and I believe the bill was around $450/person without tip.

My buddy and I ended up splitting the bill, and it was north of $1300 per couple but it was well worth it.  Once in a lifetime experience.  No single ingredient was used twice during the meal.  I thought that was kind of cool.
