  1. There have been some Haynes worts comparisons about motivation.

for more than that i have become no longer interested. If we get him it will be a focal point about our ability to draft i the first round. I see too much risk for us.

If you folks dont know already i am a M.D. fan from 'Bama. Not just be he fits well (i think/ DL flex. can play more than one position or scheme) but i guess his style of play. From what i have seen. He sees the field and pursues till the whistle kinda guy.

intangibles/character are a + also. in comparison to fairley bowers.

You make a good point

  2. Mayock said he has Sherrod in the 2nd round. Mayock isnt always right but if he is into the 2nd we probably draft him.

Love has had a very bad week at the senior bowl he will be lucky to be a 3rd round pick. He looks like an OG to me.

looking at this roster, if we can get some depth on the DL and LB, it looks like a very good lineup.

Mayock is smoking angle dust. Sherrod is tearing up the senior bowl. He's the real deal....long gone before the 2nd round.

Agree with your assessment of Love. He just looks awkward out there.

  3. I like the fact that Buddy came right out and said, "We had gotten small around there -- 225- and 230-pound linebackers -- and it's hard to stop the run with that. We gotta get bigger."

All the fans watching our linebackers getting carried 4-6 yards deep after their initial hit on opposing RBs, or watching RBs flat-out just run over them are finally being told that what we have seen over the years is not an optical "delusion". Really started to get annoyed with all the post game comments from our linebackers and DL about playing their gaps and fits better. Heck, most running backs are as big if not bigger than our LB core - that's not good.

I guess it is unreasonable to expect them to say, "I need to get bigger and stronger so I wont be pushed around any more".

Nix with the fix - this is a better front office... get'er done Buddy.

When I saw this Buddy quote, it gave me a sense of relief. My worst fear is that we take Von Miller with the #3 pick.

  4. Sounds like Demarcus Love has stuggled so far in Senior Bowl practices. Was hoping he could be a 2nd round steal as a RT prospect. Still, it seems there are quite a few prospects who have a very bright RT future. Let's hope we land one of em'.

Yeah...I watched him closely in the Sugar Bowl. He got absolutely abused by Cam Heyward. IMO...very unimpressive as a run blocker.

  5. They said he was a situational player when they took him ...

Well maybe situational at first as they worked him into the offense, but.....ah screw it!! I will appeal to the masses on this message board, and stop defending the Spiller draft choice. Okay...he's a bust and a terrible waste of a draft pick. We might as well trade him for a 4th rounder while we have the chance.

  6. Of course not....that's what the #11 overall pick is for.

LOL...I agree with the sentiment, but I highly doubt that Buddy & Chan's plan for Spiller was to be a situational player. They knew Lynch was not included in their rebuilding plan. I think they envisioned him as sharing the workload (rushing) with Jackson, and being more heavily involved in the passing game. It's funny how things work out sometimes.

  7. BIG difference between Maybin and Miller.

Miller has been performing at a high level for close to 4 years...with the last two seasons in a row being considered stellar.

Maybin only had one season of decent college level play.

I'd prefer a guy like Fairley or Dareus with our #3 pick, but I wouldn't complain over Miller.

Having watched several of Miller's games, including the bowl game, I would say that my biggest concern would be his lack of size and strength to defend against the run in the NFL. Another criticism of Miller would be his inconsistency with playing to the whistle....he often looks lazy giving up on plays. IMO...he has not demonstrated the ability to be a solid run defender in college. That being said...I doubt that he could be an "every down" linebacker. No doubt, he is an exceptional pass rusher and has established a body of work. The question is...do we draft a "situational" player with the #3 overall pick? I think not.

  8. If the Bills let Florence and Whitner walk and then have to waste their #1 pick on a hopeful replacement, that would be a sign that the Bills are just going to dwell at the bottom of the league as usual. You don't build a winner by constantly trying to replace your few good players because they leave. You need to keep them so you can build up talent at other positions. Frankly, I'd rather see Green than Peterson, but really if the the Bills don't go DL or QB with the top pick, I'll be disappointed.

Agreed that a lot hinges on what they decide to do with Drayton Florence. If they let him walk, we are left with a huge hole in the secondary. McGee is oft-injured, surely on the down slope of his career. McLovin shows huge potential at times, but is too inconsistent and makes too many mistakes to be our "shut-down" guy. Youbody, Corner, and the rest....who knows.

Morale of the story....make sure to re-sign Florence. If not, Peterson may be a decent choice in round one (IF he makes it past Denver).

  9. if we could trade down 3-4 spots and pickup an extra 2nd this would be a great deal to get some talent on this team. say the browns love aj green and would give us their 1st and 2nd for the 3rd pick and we still get dareus while giving us an extra 2nd to get another lb or right tackle.

Don't let the pre-draft rankings fool you, after the combine and other workouts, Dareus will likely be picked in the top five.

  10. I think in judging QBs many Bills fans judge the grass always being greener elsewhere. Tebow would have been our savior but to do this ignores the fact that with our OL and with our D keeping the O off the field and on its heels likely the same O problems Tebow had would happened here (and likely would have been worse.

I think that basically almost any vet would have done better than a rookie with our O (except maybe Bradford who I think is the real deal but he likely would have been far worse here than he was if we had him). Fitzy is likely not our answer for the future but I think he performed better here than we would have with any of the rookie QBs.

 Me fail English that's unpossible - Ralph Wiggun

  11. I don't know about Cleveland, they seem set on McCoy, I see them getting a veteran QB in FA before drafting another one early

I don't think they're set on McCoy, I just think he was better than Jake Delhomme (which isn't saying much). Let's be honest here...McCoy played okay, but he didn't exactly "light up the stat sheet." I wouldn't be shocked if Holmgren pulled the trigger on a QB at the #6 spot...especially if AJ Green is off the board.

    8 games...74.5 QB rating, 60.8 completion% 6 TD's 9 INT's

  12. They will ALL be on offensive cooridinator #2 for next season.

Tebow, Clausen, and McCoy all lost their HCs and Bradfords OC left town to take over in Cleveland. This always seems to be a "scape goat" excuse as to why a certain QB never developed - like Jason Campbell and our own Losman and Edwards.

It may be interesting to see how each improves/regresses from this year to next.

Tebow and McCoy both showed promise toward the end of the season. Clausen just never had a chance to succeed, playing in that putrid offense. It will be interesting to see what happens with them. I suspect that Carolina will draft a QB early to compete with Clausen. Same with Cleveland.
