  1. toilet paper, water, and staples are off the shelves in the piedmont here. luckily it's all domestic product. Greensboro is 3 hours / 120-130 miles from asheville / 60-80 miles from the nearest severely effected areas.
  2. Thank you. She's in a hotel room with 4 other people and her daughter, as we heard.
  3. Edited post to add it.
  4. Family we know lost her house, business (she's a veterinarian and trying to help her employees, too), and the lives of friends... If you want to donate directly to an individual...
  5. Friend of ours who owns a tattoo shop is a direct person. Diamond Thieves of Asheville. He is posting receipts, supplies, people picking them up, etc. I can get you his venmo. Also, a local brewery, goose and monkey in Lexington NC is helping organize supplies to send up. You can view them on Facebook. They're working with people I directly know, a farmer and vineyard.
  6. You may have missed it earlier but it's annoying as ***** because I co chair a fundraiser that happens the first Saturday of every October. We already have solid $$$ input as of last week and expect a good turnout. But we can't celebrate the event, we had to change tons of messaging and signage. And we have to compete for people wanting to help wnc. We have shifted 45° to get what we are doing to help WNC. It's because of this event I haven't gone up there myself. I've been asked by 2 groups and have opportunities with two more. I can find the right spot. My wife's office manager owns 3 vet hospitals up there with his wife and has been coming down here to ferry goods up there. Between him and people we know taking stuff and buying directly we know a lot of helpers.
  7. Let me ask some folks I know who's making a difference and who needs help. If you're bored go find Greg Biffle on social media. Former NASCAR driver and helicopter pilot working with groups to go in immediately and help. It's amazing video.
  8. BuT i Am A hOaX tHeY sAy. What's funny is if anyone here has a boots near the ground ability to verify what I'm saying it'd be you. 🤣
  9. You're stupid and smell bad. Is there a particular direction you'd like to aim with assistance? There are a ton of groups. I'm sure non religious - otherwise Samaritan's purse is good. If you want pets/livestock/animals, high risk elderly, food pantries (most are religious), childcare/assistance, etc... I can find the right one.
  10. Hickory is fine comparatively. Statesville further east, hickory, and Gastonia are hubs to get things spread out in the Carolina region. Up in va the furthest in anyone is getting us Damascus/Abingdon. Just below to west Jefferson/white top somehow didn't get it as bad. Wytheville is a staging area there. Bristol TN and VA are also forward operations assisting. Unc school of arts has revitalized the area, bud.
  11. You haven't been here. Wait until you hear how well Winston Salem is doing. Add to the conversation or don't. You're just becoming another crayons or Tiberius. The bar sinks lower and lower for you.
  12. Via auto. 140 via direct shot. Your point? Nothing within 60 miles is structurally available. Hickory is as close as possible for outside staging. At least until last night. Asheville airport is ok now. By this account fort Bragg is too far away despite it being the primary federal hub for this operation. Think smarter, not harder. Ok... Why?
  13. Ok so you expect Duke Power to come out and make an announcement on this? Do you really think there is any world where this would be said? Your prestigious ass is saying my friends, who you seem as Cletus and toothless aren't good enough? I want to make sure I follow you here. Oh and just for fun. The weirdo party of the libertarian? Which I am Your party wants to have children get lap dances from troons, chop off parts and replace them while dressing as furries, import 3rd world nations, and start wars. I'll take my actions calling your party names over the the party you belong to wanting all the aforementioned.
  14. i put up an account that is the same i've heard from Duke power companies up there and volunteers. they're being gamed up there. you and stojan are discrediting the source because he does not have some M.D., PhD by his name... i mean, stojan is so educated and high above us he doesn't care that there are men with testicles to go help in times like this that barely know how to change a lightbulb. stojan's virtue is so strong that he can judge with just his little fingers instead of getting up off his ass an onto his feet to do something. those volunteers in asheville have a bigger scrote than he does.
  15. shocking you wouldn't take into account that i am here, have multuple friends and contacts involved in the efforts and you just dismiss it because you're confirmation bias would be destroyed and your feeble mind can't think for itself. honest question, when you're doing daily tasks do you talk to yourself just to make sure you're doing it right? i can see it now... "i am putting on my shoes. i tie my shoes." "i am petting the bunny. i am petting the bunny soft." i mean, seriously... you just discredit this post because why? do you not believe me and the first hand accounts people are telling me? lineman removing bodies tangles in powerlines. running out of body bags. fema on the perimeter and standing down until assessors have taken their bean countines numbers. which part do you not believe? is it personal because you don't believe me? is it because you just don't want to believe? why, stojan? you're not a stupid.
  16. hey @stevestojan... be careful where you think you want to donate. this has been reported all across the region and in every natural disaster. the red cross, united way, all of these big fancy groups come in and take the assts from the people who collected them and have been there from the start. there have been reports they come in and empty local churches, centers, and such in the communities to truck off to other locations away from where they're needed. it's all a big shake down.
  17. fema and gov has issued stand down orders to private groups. a friend is working disaster relief as a coordinator for a team of 50 responders and is their designated person. the team consists of volunteer firefighters and emt. they let her know what she needs and she is ferrying the stuff from stations and donations to them daily. they've sat on their ass for two days but found back roads in and went to other communities yesterday to finally begin helping. talked to supervisors from Duke Power who are cleaning the roads saying bodies just strewn about but there are tons of aid workers sent in and sitting around. duke power cannot do anything officially to clear the ways but the line crews are opening the roads. line workers are cutting trees off roads, out of the way. but, again, they're saying they can't walk more than 20' without seeing a dead body just rotting there and they're not allowed to touch them. the communications too busy to let anyone know where to get them. they're also being told to stand down because fiber optic lines are up with power lines and to leave power lines in place in the way. groups are asking to just get some D6's to go in there and make routes in via road but are being told it would damage the road for repair later. this is more direct contact with more people working up there. every. single. person.....EVERYONE is saying the government is underwhelming to AWOL on this response. and some of these people went to New Orleans to say it is worse.
  18. not watched the visuals or all 22. too cheap but anytime i saw him against the ravens and earlier in the year when facing man coverage he didn't distinguish himself to get into a catching solution. also, i think it is fair that josh is not throwing the ball into these windows like he has before. shakir is the only one he is putting the ball into certain windows with. what struck me was that kincaid is running routes that are predictable and don't seem as original as they could be - maybe it's all my interpretation. right now we need a big bodied TE who can sit down in a flat like keith mckellar would - knox we need a solid number 1 who can beat the defender with position and get the contested catch - a TO type who can fight for the ball and maybe coleman will get there we need an underneath guy who can run inside our outside and take the hits and make the catch - beasley - and shakir maybe better than him we need a man who can get open and shake coverage and play backyard ball - Stevie johnson. it should be curtis samuel we need a rb who can run a wheel route and break through or leak out to catch a big gain when josh scrambles - thurman but now james cook if we get those three solutions above we can use dalton kincaid to split a seam, and be a big swiss army knife it's early. caffiene kicking in. but gosh i wish we would have pursued derrick henry. it'd have been huge to just punish the light boxes and 2 high safeties we face with josh.
  19. I want him to live forever. He's a great man. It'd be awesome if he trolled everyone and said he was running for president.
  20. Just my dad. But he's dead. And I never liked him anyway. Your moral high ground doesn't make a bit of difference here. The tribalism is so weird. It's one thing to be a fan of a sports team and cheer that on with a passion. But it's another to take that same tribalism and put it to politics. Neither Josh Allen nor Chuck Schumer give one fudge about you, me, or anyone.
  21. I don't respond to you. Do me the courtesy of not responding to me. 😘
  22. No. I'm an atheist. The rest of what you said did not have enough substance to credit a response. Do better, bud. Id be as worried about e coli, dysentery, giardia water contamination. I know it's not me. But I hate Asheville. I don't have a particular reason and it's not at all a political mindset. I just can't stand it. It's too expensive for what it is, it's not as fun as people make it out to be, everything is too busy and too expensive. The hotels there are all remodels crapholes. Walking down the street over people who are high and passed out is annoying. You'll see random vagrants just assault people at least once a night for no reason. Boone, West Jefferson, blowing rock, places like that are so much better. Imo Oh, and I co chair a fund raising event going on this upcoming weekend. It's could not be timed worse. 😐
  23. The rescue route maps advise anyone this way going south and swoop back. My wife is going up Thursday for 4-5 days of relief aid work. She gets a new map every 4-6 hours. 🤣
  24. Get north and come back is my bet so yes 26. I don't know the north route. But for us in Greensboro to get in we have to go to Charlotte, then face west until 26 can get it up. If needed maybe catching 19 up and finding 58 back toward Abingdon. By all accounts everyone has seen has said you have to go further west to backtrack behind all of this. Also, download scanner radio and listen to the repeater in Mecklenburg county for shortwave ham radio. The news there is working well.
  25. What's the route you can take ? 81 ok?
