damn. an actual murderer...wow. he looks so...normal
-
how about the fact that as a jet he almost always carves us up. isn't he like 4-1 v. the bills? EDIT: couldn't find vinny's won/loss record v. the bills, but i just found this: in 9 games played vs buffalo he has a qb rating of 93.0, completed 62.5% of his passes, 15TDs and 6 picks. 209 yards passing per game. sacked 11 times, fumbled twice, lost one. all-in-all, i'm sure he wishes he had gotten to play the bills a little more often in his career.
-
see it?! i felt all the way down here in carlisle! aye caramba!
-
i'm not. that same effort by the bills would have gotten them blown out in miami today.
-
trust me, he would look like matt kofler behind this line.
-
me too. TD truly deserved the benefit of the doubt for the first few years, because he was basically stuck with an expansion team. but think that by this time we should have both starters and backups capable of converting on first and goal from the one yard line! there is no friggin excuse for that, and it's not like today's the only time it's happened! it seems like every week, we're making somebody else's defense look like the !@#$ing steel curtain on a critical short yardage play. i am with you- completely sick of it!
-
dude, i'd be feeling pretty good if i was you. five more minutes and the fish probably win that game, even with all the mistakes. i think miami's going to be in the hunt all season.
-
mark, i think the problem is that this defense just WEARS DOWN as gomes progress! now you could make the case that it is because the offense always goes down the crapper in the 2nd half, and that's hard to argue with, but really, how often does this "great" defense step up and lay the wood to people in the 4th quarter? we usually see the opposite.
-
it's hard to tell some times because the perspective you get watching TV doesn't show enough, but i THINK he spent most of the day in single coverage. if that's the case, i don't think he did a bad job. problem is, the only way you could tell for sure is if you were at the game!
-
well actually (and not that anyone should care), i think you can stick a fork in me too...because even though the old abs and groinals are back in top shape, i managed to tear medial meniscus in BOTH knees during the rehab process , so i had to have both knees scoped before i ever got back to running again! it has been almost six months and they still hurt like hell, and i will, after all, be turning 40 soon, so i have to wonder if my days of serious training may be done for good (where is that "crying like a little girl" smiley when you need it?). frankly, it is a very tough thing to deal with...until i stop and remember how many people have REAL problems.

koy detmer huh? is he under contract for next season?
-
i see he is starting to limp around out there vs. the cowboys. trust me everyone, you can flush the toilet on him for this season. if he is your fantasy QB, get ready to cut bait. i sustained the same injury he has last fall; it started when i tore the tendon holding my ab muscle to my pelvis (although i don't have 24hour access to an army of dr's and trainers, so it took me a little longer to get diagnosed). it is a weird injury. you think you're going to be fine because it just feels like an abdominal pull. so you keep training. but the ab tendon tear changes the alignment of your pelvis, so that the groinals get overworked, and therefore severly overtightend. so then the pain spreads into your adductors, whereupon you can't accelerate, and can't move laterally. the lateral thing wasn't an issue for me since i was training for a marathon. but when i did repeat miles on the track for speedwork, it hurt so bad that it took me 200 meters to get up to the speed i was trying to run. and from there it only got worse. i survived the race, but i had to cut way back on training just to get to the starting line, and ran a good 6-8 mins slower than my fitness should have allowed. long story short- in january, i had the surgery to repair it by the same doc (william meyers) who will be doing donovan's surgery. he is recognized as the best in the business in this technique. depending on the cause/severity of the injury the surgery involves one or both of the following: -stitch the tendon/fascia of the ab muscle back to the sheath that surrounds the pubic bone, where it will grow back together quite nicely. -cut slits in the sheath around the adductor (groin muscles) to let them "release" back to their normal length. my recovery from all this has been complete, but the process was SLOOOOOWW. so when mcnabb has the work done, it will be 2 1/2- 3 months minimum before he can play, because he will risk tearing the same tissue apart again if he comes back too soon. so as you have read, the guy is screwed. every game is going to hurt worse than the one before, guaranteed, and when he finally breaks down and has surgery, he will be done for sure. the only good thing for eagles fans is that there is no one better at doing the repair than dr. meyers. so he should be fine next season.

the guy is right- this team is still terrible. and as i suspected, the qb change was inconsequential. the result would have been the same with losman at qb, because we still suck across both lines. period.

it does get into your blood, doesn't it? last sunday at 4 o'clock i was so pissed off i vowed that this week, i would do anything...ANYTHING... other than waste another 3 hrs watching these #$$%&!!! losers blow another game. after all, is life not TOO PRECIOUS to waste 3 hours of a beautiful autumn sunday (and they're ALL beautiful) on the couch swearing at the tv??! but 7 days later, i laugh at that sentiment. who the hell was i kidding? at 1pm today i will be exactly where i always am... -

he's called at least two of our games...he did the ATL game too. i think he is very astute, and i respect his opinion more than most, since he was out there playing QB in the NFL practically yesterday. -

ESPN's Lenny P says it is Holcomb on Sunday...

of course i do! i just don't think that him being benched right now is the worst thing ever. maybe he NEEDS to take a step back for now? frankly, i have no idea, but i will wait till the game ends to reserve judgment. i just can't believe how much reaction there is over this. -

one positive regarding the defense is that we are gonna get a lot more of anderson this week...long term, he is gonna be much better than edwards i would wager. the more plays the better as far as i am concerned. -

Am I the only one who believes this NOT is a gigantic issue either way? This team would be 1-3 with either Bledsoe, Losman or Holcomb at QB, because we suck across both lines. Maybe Mularkey has a good goddamn reason to start Holcomb and I, for one, don't think he's an idiot. He knows his job is at stake if he can't get these guys to stop underachieving. Personally, I really don't care who he plays as long as we win. And as far as Losman's development is concerned, if he is the kind of QB who can't handle being benched when it is obvious to the whole world that he is playing like ****, then he is no good to us anyway. -
wow what a difference from the the nearly unwatchable 04 version! i may have to splurge for center ice after all!
