  1. But couldn't Young fill that role, with the added threat of being able to pass?
  2. Tonawanda High School played with leather helmets, with face masks well into the 1960s.
  3. We had this discussion in another thread. It pertained to an article that gave off season grades. A poster with more knowledge of Tavon Wilson described him as a situational player, a hybrid FS/CB. II fail to see how this guy and Will Allen are going to fix the second worst pass D in the NFL.
  4. Consider this, they went to the Super Bowl with a D that was 31st against the pass, no running game and one WR. Who do people think got them there?
  5. Yes it is all Brady. I don't think this is the same Pats team that won with Matt Cassel. If you take Brady off this team they very well could become last years Colts.
  6. I am not knocking the Pats, I am knocking the grade given to their off season in this article. If the Bills had the same holes to fill as the Pats and the Bills made the same off season moves, the article would read as follows: "Bills have another head scratching off season. To fix their lack of talent at WR they brought in an aging group well past their prime. To fix the RB position they signed a back that has not rushed for 1000 yards since 2007! They lost a 10 sack DE and replaced him with a rookie, rookies rarely get 10 sacks. They did little to shore up the worst secondary in the NFL, Will Allen really? And a situational hybrid CB/FS doesn't seem like remotely enough. Grade D- Minus."
  7. Ok, so they lose a 10 sack DE to us and draft a DE. They pick up a LB who may turn out to be good. They had arguably the worst secondary in the league and they add a situational hybrid CB/FS and this is what makes it a great off season?
  8. I think the Bills grade is correct, but will someone please explain how New England gets a B-plus? The players mentioned are, Joseph Addai, Brandon Lloyd, Jabar Gaffney, Donte' Stallworth, Will Allen and Andre Carter. The only guy under 30 is Addai. Go to Pats roster click on each of these guys and look at their past production and ages. How was this a great off season for them? http://www.patriots.com/team/roster.html
  9. Prolly is the mispronunciation or in this case the miswriting of the word probably. I have tried to ignor it, so as not to be accused of being the grammar/spelling police. We could spend all day every day correcting the grammar, punctuation, tense, etc. on this site. However what this site is about is the expression of opinions, which is both fun and intellectually healthy.
  10. Welker did toast us, over 200 yards. I don't understand how the preseption is that New England reloaded or had a great off season. They still don't have a running back, they brought in some veteran WR on the downside of their careers and how did their secondary get better?
  11. I keep wondering the same thing. Does anyone know the answer?
  12. Firstly, when you get past LA, look at city populations and tell me which would be better for this franchise than western NY. Secondly, why change the name? Jets and Giants play in NJ, Redskins play in Maryland.
  13. Thanks I remember Burnett good player too short of a career.
  14. I have fond memories of the Old Rock Pile, but it was a dump and I'm not sure it was salvageable. There was also no parking. I remember going to a game with my father, two kids directed him to park in a driveway for which he paid them. After the game there was a really angry woman standing next to our car yelling at my father for parking in her driveway. She had been at church. The two kids didn't live there. My father kept apologizing, she kept yelling, I couldn't stop laughing.
  15. It is really about 30 minutes of live action, it just takes three hours.
  16. Lombardi coached in DC for one year 1969. He took over a team that went 5 and 9 in 1968, their record in 1969 was 7-5-2 second in the division. Not really bad.
  17. I was just going to write that. I agree, great team, great coach, good QB.
  18. "by virtue of outscoring their opponents". Is it possible to not outscoring your opponent and still win?
  19. I was thinking the same thing about Florence.
  20. Are you nuts! Fitz is a master at taking a knee! His kneeling prowess is how we defeated the Patriots. He forced Wilfolk to commit that unsportsmanlike penalty.
