What? Marrone decided to go around Whaley, it was an attempt to undermine him. He asked for an extension for himself and his staff or he was going to opt out. Tried to blackmail the Pegulas and it didn't work. Anyone who has ever owned a business has had this happen. For this tactic to work the employee better have a very strong case, like Cowher vs Donahoe. Marrone is no Bill Cowher. Polian's decision was based on, by his own admission, he didn't want to make a long term commitment or work very hard.

This is correct. I'm warming up to Frank because what we know is that he has no ego. He would have no problem hiring a high profile OC. As far as Schwartz is concerned, he understands how the business works. He knows the Bills need serious offensive help. If Schwartz doesn't get a HC job there is no reason to leave.

Wow, sage advice. Who did Marrone want? Franchise QB? Well that should be easy. Just call Greenbay and tell them to send us Rogers. Better offensive line? Picked up one guy in free agency and drafted three. This was about evicerating Whaley and protecting Hackett nothing more.

I don't understand how this is a circus? Marrone tried a power play, probably so he didn't have to fire Hackett, and lost. There is no way Pegula was going to have his first major decision since buying the Bills be giving in to Marrone's demands. The team is better off without him. As for Polian, he is basically retred. Has a stress free gig at ESPN. Why would he want to take on a job with any NFL team? He certainly has nothing to prove, and doesn't need the money.

Pegula's first real act as owner could absolutely not be giving in to Marrone's demands while being threatened. No way he was going to do that.

I don't know who I want. I think the philosophy they had when they hired Marrone was correct. Hire some one that potentially will be the HC for years. Marrone was the wrong guy, obviously. I don't think Cowher would be in for the long haul.

In another thread last week someone ousted a quote from Hackett that basically said take what they give you and don't force the ball down field. That is playing scared. That is why they are ineffective in the red zone. That is why they check down. I agree that they shouldn't go with the up tempo, but that was what Marrone/Hackett was suppose to bring, innovation got thrown around a lot. My question is, what is this offense? What is their philosophy?

I've asked these questions in other threads. 1.) How is it that both QBs have exactly the same issues? 2.) I thought Marrone's offense was no huddle, up tempo, what is this offense?

How can both Orton and Manuel have the same issues? Inaccurate, inability to find reveivers down field and ineptitude in the red zone. I don't believe in coincidence.
