  1. I'm not sure what we can learn of the Bills, but they will need a lot of work. There were missed assignments on way too many plays. Guys didn't know where to line up, and what the play was. ... I guess that is what preseason is for. It was just the first preseason game, so I'm not too concerned, as long as there is an improvement in next weeks game. Hopefully, we'll get some of our o-line starters back for that game. Trent looked bad, but same as last season, he is losing faith in the players around him. Our O-line looked like the worst unit of the team. But they did have 3 starters missing. Is it just me, or did Arthor Moats looked completely lost out there. He looked like he has not been studying his play book, or the speed of the game is too much for him.
  2. 2nd on Daryl Talley. He still gets no respect.
  3. Don't bother. Ain't no reasoning with "chicken little" mentality.
  4. After reading the actual article, it seems someone is jumping to conclusions without much info. All they said was Hardy "looked like he was getting into shape." That does not automatically saying he is flabby and becoming the next Mike Williams. It does not say anything about his work ethics, or lack of either. Only thing concrete is Hardy had surgery this off season, which will not prevent him from participating in training camp.
  5. I would not want to trade away picks for a left tackle. We are still at least another year away from being a contender. Never mind the o-line and suspect qb situation. Out Defense is going through a major change. It will take at least a year for them to get the new defense down. We need to just hold our draft picks, since they will be early in the draft position. Oh, by the way Fitzpatrick may have a strong arm, but he has poor accuracy. No way I'd want him to be the starter. We should find out if Edwards or Brohm can be our qb. If not, next year will have a terrific qb draft class.
  6. This almost feels like an Eagles fan message board. ........... Let's run all our players out of town!! We already had demanded Jim Kelly to be benched in favor of Todd Collins.
  7. K-9. I think your assessment is dead-on. I don't think think the Bills are offering more than a 3rd, and I wouldn't want them to. Gaithner might be considered a solid LT, but not great. Plus, he has a foot injury that he may have to get surgery on. That could put him in jeopardy of not being able to play this upcoming season.
  8. You gotta have heart to keep taking a beating like he did, and come back for more. He lost confidence in his team. That's different than not having heart. I don't think Edwards is even an average qb at this point, but he was decent, before he lost his confidence. If he could get his confidence back, he could be a decent qb again. Russell, I think he does not want to put in the work to be even an average qb.
  9. It is a bad idea to bring in JaMarcus Russell. He is the qb version of Mike Williams (former Bill). The Bills would be using a roster spot on him and paying him nearly a mil/year to sit on the bench eating Buffalo wings. For those that want JR here, might as well lobby for all former 1st round busts to take up our roster spots. We can bring back Mike Williams, Lawrence Phillips, Tony Mandarich, and Desmond Howard. I'll take Edwards or Fitzgerald over Russell. They may not be as physically gifted, but they have heart and will put in an effort.
  10. BillsVet. Thanks for doing that. That is good work and interesting. I remember many Bills fans clammering for Ted Gin Jr. As Bill Polian once said, "if you start listening to the fans, you will be sitting with the fans."
  11. Or perhaps the Bills are sticking with their plan, that it will take them couple of years to retool the team, so they can be consistently good for many years. At least, this is what I hope is going on. They can develop their left tackle of the future throughout the season. Both prospects can pass block against speed rushers. they need to develop against double moves, bull rushers, and run blocking.
  12. Perhaps this is why Bills didn't draft Clausen or Tebow or McCoy.
  13. perhaps the Bills felt Bell is now ready to be their LT. After all, he really did need more time to develop. Hopefully, with some playing experience and an offseason to get stronger, he can be at least an average starting LT. He does has all the physical gifts to do it. Wang could also be ready next year or two. I think the Bills are on a 2 year plan. They are rebuilding the team over couple of drafts, as they should. You don't build a solid long-term team over night. Next year is the year to get a franchise QB. There could be 6 qb's drafted in the 1st round. This year really was lacking in good qb's, outside of Sam Bradford. Next year, Bradford may even have fallen to be only the 3rd or 4th qb picked.
  14. I too hope TE shows vast improvement with a better line, and coaching. I also hope Brohm develops into a starting caliber qb. Brown is a nice scout team qb. I never have been a Fitzpatrick fan. If these qb's don't work out, next year will be a great year for drafting a qb. There are currently 6 possible 1st round qb's. Even the 6th one is better than this year's #2 qb. I for one am glad we did NOT draft Clausen, Tebow or McCoy. Why draft a qb just to draft one. next year will be the year to get one.
  15. How many great nose tackles were in the draft last year? Year before that? Please show proof, other than regurgitating someone else's opinion.
  16. I wonder what kind of draft pick we could get for some of our fans?
  17. I have to 2nd the Ronnie Harmon vote. I think he should win the most over-rated Buffalo Bills rb award.
  18. Does anyone remember Jeff Wright? He was our NT after Fred Smerlas left. He was considered undersized for a NT, but did well. In fact, San Fran offered the Bills a 1st round pick for him, and we turned it down. Kyle Williams could work in the 3-4 and be very productive. If we have creative defensive coaches, they could be able to devise a hybrid scheme that works around the strength of our players. That is what Wade Phillips was good at.
  19. If we were to draft Spiller. Now what? We have this possibly good to great RB. Who's going to block for him? Who's going to get the ball to him? Who's going to get the ball back from the other team for him? This is going to take 2 years for the Bills to rebuild. We need to straighten out the lines first, then work your way out. We already have Fred and Beast Mode, at least for a couple years. Bills need to get players for positions they don't have quality and quantity in.
  20. Taking a RB would be like us taking a DB. We have far more pressing needs, and we already have a starter at that position.
  21. I have no problem with the Bills giving Bell a long look. They would be foolish if they did not. You have to examine all options. Bell has the physical ability to play there. He has some experience now. He looked good against pass-rushers trying to go wide on him. That shows his speed and quickness. His problem was with double moves and bull rushes to his right. That can be fixed with more experience and strength training. This is not a guaranty, but it is possible. That sure would put the Bills in a good position.
  22. the Bills have too many pressing needs to say we need to only target one specific player in the draft at #9. They need to draft the best player available at #9, between OT, DT, and QB. They have a slightly less need, but wouldn't mind the best player in LB or DE. As long as they come out of the draft with starting quality OT, DT and LB, I'll be happy. Then, they can fill out depth and competition to starters at the other positions. You'll notice I left QB off the list. That is not because I think we have a good on the roster right now, but I don't think we will be good next year, so we can wait to get a QB at next year's draft. Then, we would have a solid team surrounding the new QB and make a run at the playoffs, like Pittsburgh did with Ben Rothlisberger.
  23. Physical tools can be learned. That is why they have gyms and speed camps. Maybin was picked because of his physical tools, not because of his game experience or knowledge of the game (or lack of). Campbell is this year's version of Robert Gallery. He was a physical freak and had fantastic numbers in the combine, much like Campbell. What is Robert Gallery doing now?
  24. Not Campbell. He'll be picked by Al Davis with the 8th pick. Then will turn out to be a freakish athlete, but not a football player. I want #1 OT Bulaga or OT Anthony Davis 2 NT Cam Thomas (would love this pick) 3 OLB Eric Norwood 4. OT Ed Wang (good depth and competition for RT) 5. DE Daniel Te'o-Nesheim (6' 3" - 263 lbs.; 12.5 tackles for losses and 9.5 sacks in 1 season) 6. QB Jonathon Crompton, Tennessee (http://walterfootball.com/draft2010QB.php) 7. NT Al Woods, LSU (could be solid in rotation) 7. RB Michael Smith, Arkansas (for punt and kickoff return, plus capable of being a home run threat)
  25. I have watched the the games. I haven't seen him rounding his pattern or jogging when he knew he wasn't getting the ball. I always saw him going all out on his routes and making quick cuts. Please provide the link to where you came across that Lee Evans can't run routes and cannot run block. Here is a link to ESPN where they say Evans "is a #2 wr with #1 wr skills". They said that about him when TO was coming to the Bills. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=5538 Please provide only facts, since we are quite capable of making our own opinions.
