Absolutely, passion, intelligence and a big ego. Kelly & Flutie had them, and showed when they played.

I couldn't agree more. Physical skills are certainly important, but mental agility is often overlooked. I felt the same way about Levi in the 4th quarter. Realizing he is not getting much work in practice, he still attempted deep balls; something the other two QB's failed to do. Levi showed poise, and although missing his receivers, he didnt' appear depressed when he missed. I hope this kid pans out.
-
I disagree, Washington did very well, while the Bills looked like they couldn't figure out what to do, after catching the ball.
-
Trent may have a good arm, but their are no active synapses in his brain bucket. He makes terrible decisions, and show's no remorse, as if he doesn't get it.
-
Makes you wonder why he placed TE on the top of the heap? Edwards is like Rob Johnson, either he runs out of bounds, backwards or gets sacked.

As a Native American
Phil Hansen Forever replied to 3 left feet's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You make a valid point, the Redskins logo and name are not only culturally insensitive, but racially as well. I have no problem with names like the Blackhawks, Fighting Sioux, but naming a team after a culturally offensive slur is wrong. I would agree with you in your examples; nobody would allow them today, but we tolerate the Redskins. -
If Chan is right, the guy they were looking for was Levi, and not Clausen. Let Brohm and Brown do their thing and see where things end up at the end of the year. I do agree with the other posters, I was pissed when they selected Troup over Clausen, but then again, I'm not the COACH, only a fan. I'll give Gailey a chance for couple of years, like I did the last three misfit coaches. Hopefully, he can make a change in Buffalo, and not for the worst.

I agree with you there. I don't mind him running around, if ONLY he would throw the damn ball. When you are 3rd and 11, you don't chuck the ball 2 yrds and hope the receivers can run the rest. We need Flutie back, or someone like him. Big ego, fair arm, but a brain and a heart that match his ego.
-
Only funny if he would have removed the comment about TO. Trent isn't going to change, and Bills fan's will have to endure another painful year of watching TE running away from the defense and chucking the ball low and out for 3-5 yards, tops. But, I'll grant you the song was funny a year ago.

Not just slower, but their inability to tackle their opponents is more noticable than in years past.
-
Put it to rest, it's a year old and Trent isn't any different.

ELIMINATE THE MISTAKES
Phil Hansen Forever replied to Mike in Syracuse's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with all of them, but one. Maybin's roughing the passer call. The replay did not show any contact with the head, he had a firm grasp of the upper chest, but nothing around the head. It was a bad call by the refs, and Theisman who babbled on about protecting the QB. -
The only reason he looked good in the beginning was the Redskins were just getting started. They got embarassed in their house and then turned the game around.

Joique Bell is a possessed man
Phil Hansen Forever replied to Skoobydum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bell showed serious promise last night. Ran like a raped ape and never slowed down. I thought Levi looked very good too, even though it was only mop up duty. He has a rocket arm and at least tried to make points. -
And Joe Theisman said!!!!!
Phil Hansen Forever replied to hamtenp's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good catch, I remember his blunder but missed the dates! What an idiot, you would think even the lowly NFL Network would put this guy to bed. Theisman is desperately needing an OPTIRECTOMY soon, before he hurts himself. -
And Joe Theisman said!!!!!
Phil Hansen Forever replied to hamtenp's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Everytime Theesman (right pronounciation) speaks, I want to puke. He is so full of himself and lets everyone know it. He just can't keep his yap shut, or at least talk about what is really happening. The whole game was that way, camera crews missed plays, the announcers talked right through other plays, and Theesman blunders along. I had to turn the volumn down too, as his voice is nearly as irritating as Madden. Both should be put to pasture and left to rot in HOF. -
A sign of COACHING yet to come?
Phil Hansen Forever replied to SoggyHog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I couldn't agree more. The guy clearly bobbled the ball and then pulled it in across the goal line, but his knees were clearly down first. But then again, Joe Theisman said it was a touch down, so it really must have been, since he is NEVER WRONG! -
I completely agree with you. It's as if he had horse blinders on and can't see past 15 yards or so. He telegraph's his intentions and then misfires. He looked okay in the first series, but as soon as Washington put pressure on him, he returned to mediocrity once again. I thought with all the QB coaching this kid has undergone, he would have made some progress, but he is literally a block head and for some reason cannot or is unwilling to change. It's going to a be a very long year if TE is our QB and Levi is on the Practice Squad

Let the Levi Brown experiment begin now!
Phil Hansen Forever replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nice analysis tipster. I concur. Trent looks scared and very apprehensive. He didn't do as many checkdowns as he usually does, but he returned to the deer in the headlight look once again, when pressure was applied. Fitz looks washed up, like he came in from a 3 day binge and just woke up. I though Levi looked pretty good for a rookie. He at least had poise, and guts enough to throw it. There was no "check down", he thought it out and let it fly. I would rather lose the entire year, if we could let this kid develop as the starter. He has potential. -
If there is TRULY an open QB competition
Phil Hansen Forever replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Amen! Trent was back to his old tricks again, and Fitz looks tired and worn out. Either let Brohm play, or put Levi to work. For a rookie, that kind looked poised. -
The NFL network is sooooo biased!
Phil Hansen Forever replied to Glory Bound's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As the other posters noted, the home team gets primary coverage in the first half, then the visiting team. However, you are correct about the bias. When McNabb was 3 for 7, Theisman reported he was doing an excellent job and proved he was as good as ever. At that time, Trent was 5 for 6, until the interception that Theisman had to over exagerate as usual. Theisman routinely denegrates the Bills, and Paul Maguire said the same thing when they worked together. -
Trent Edwards' confidence
Phil Hansen Forever replied to The Helmet of's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's encouraging, but wait till Capt Checkdown goes against the Redskins. Each year, he looks "great" in camp, then reality sets it. From the reports about Friday night, he was back to old habits and unable to find anyone open. I wasn't there, just reading the reports of others and the media. -
For you guys that are there, if Whitner is pulling in INT's, he is catching them from Capt Checkdown? If so, has the passing game remained horrible like last year?
