Chip Kelly HC! (possibly for the Browns)
judman replied to 13player's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My concern about the Chip Kelly offense are described below. I'm not saying no to this system, but consider it before you buy in. It is the 3 and out... When that offense fails to gain a first down, they only take 45 seconds (or less) off the game clock. Now look at our opponents next year, teams with quarterbacks like Drew Brees, Matt Ryan, and Tom Brady (2x). If the Chip Kelly offense is off the field the defense has to be on point and do it on short rest. I remember watching a Bills game back in the K-gun days with Paul McGuire in the booth. The opponent's defense (I don't remember who it was, sorry) had our number. After multiple Bills 3 and outs, and a gassed defense they game quickly spiraled out of control. -
It was time for Chan to go, no question. That being said, I liked Chan, he seems like a good man. To my knowledge there were no major gaffes such as Jauron's "It's hard to win in the NFL." The players seemed to speak very favorably of him as well. Hell, Stevie even sounded choked up on his WGR interview. In his comments the other day he said he would be 'pulling for' the Bills. I'd like to see him have some success as a coordinator somewhere. I don't think he is going to be a HC in the near future at the NFL level, and he is no spring chicken. That being said, best of luck to Chan.

New Stadium on the Horizon?
judman replied to Tim Anderson's Lunch Pail's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I look at Heinz Field, an open air stadium in a smaller market (relatively speaking) that was built for about $300M. It seats in the mid 60K range and has a natural grass surface. That makes the most sense for this team and this region. I don't have a specific location preference, but I'll float that the Batavia location makes more sense to me than the Falls location. -
The Eagles were down tough against the G-men. With Vick on the bench, they put in Trent "Captain Checkdown" Edwards who lived up to his nickname within 2 plays of me tuning in to the game. I smiled broadly and let out a hearty chuckle.

I like Nassib. Could be sweet if we could draft him while also dealing for Cousins-or-Flynn. And while we are talking 'Cuse, Peter King mentioned Doug Marrone's name (HC @ SYR) in his MMQB column a few weeks ago as one of the top 5 coaching names being tossed around among a group of insiders he spoke with. He has turned that team around.

Just an FYI, I don't think I have it in me at this point to speculate. This season has been taxing... Reported on PFT. Both are household names to the average fan. Thoughts? Finley Bowe

This Town -Sinatra This town is a lonely town Not the only town like-a this town This town is a make-you town Or a break-you-town and bring-you-down town This town is a quiet town Or a riot town like this town This town is a love-you town And a shove-you-down and push-you-'round town This town is an all-right town For an uptight town like-a this town This town, it's a use-you town An abuse-you town until-you're-down town This town is a losin' town It's a miserable town It's a nowhere town And I am leavin' this town You better believe that I'm leavin' this town Man, it could never be uptown It's bound to be downtown This town, bye-bye Bye, bye, bye, bye, bye-bye Epic- Faith no More Can you feel it ,see it, hear it today? If you can't, then it doesn't matter anyway You will never understand it 'cause it happens too fast And it feels so good, it's like walking on glass It's so cool, it's so hip, it's alright It's so groovy, it's outta sight You can touch it, smell it, taste it so sweet But it makes no difference 'cause it knocks you off your feet You want it all but you can't have it It's cryin', bleedin', lying on the floor So you lay down on it and you do it some more You've got to share it, so you dare it Then you bare it and you tear it You want it all but you can't have it It's in your face but you can't grab it It's alive, afraid, a lie, a sin It's magit, it's tragic, it's a loss, it's a win It's dark, it's moist, it's a bitter pain It's sad it happened and it's a shame You want it all but you can't have it It's in your face but you can't grab it What is it? It's it What is it?...

I just watched the last season's DET/GB game rewind on NFLN this past weekend. I'll admit, the thought crossed my mind... -

I think if Manning wanted to fail, he would have visited Buffalo this past off season between visits to the Broncos and Titans. -
Cheatriots Update Version 10.0

Probably to get suspensions over with before playoffs start. Just my hunch. But the NFL would want that for their beloved pats*. -
Just dial it back a bit... I think being emotionally invested in a professional sports team, any team, is unhealthy for grown men and women. We have no control over these things. These boards are about the limit of input we have, and that is next to nothing.

Colin Kaepernick [get 'er dun!]
judman replied to buffalover4life's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They traded up to get him in the second round of that draft. Kaepernick is a keeper, they will deal Smith before they let him go. The way I see it, we had our chance on Kaepernick and passed. There were a few of us here, myself included, who wanted BUF to get this kid. Now we get to watch... -
If he was injured at 40+ points, coaches got some splainin' to do. What a great opportunity the pats* had to hand Mallett the keys for a quarter...
