Whoa wait . You mean having a strong a running game should matter? But didn't that poster in the Browns trade Richardson thread (is it Dave McBride?) emphatically say that there is no correlation between a strong running game and winning? Blasphemy I say. Lol

Lets turn our attention to Baltimore
prissythecat replied to dascottbills28's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Although, Baltimore certainly has holes, I would worry about our susceptibility to the deep ball. It seems that Flacco might feast on us all day with our depleted secondary since throwing deep is the one thing he can do with consistency. -
Nope. Am not posting another "woe is me" type thread since its a given that the Bills will go through struggles with the new coaching staff and new personnel. Hopefully we see improvement during the course of the season and not regression. To change things up a bit, lets talk about the following talented teams with some proven coaches whose wheels seem to be falling off early in the season: 1) San Francisco : Is Kaepernick a half season wonder? Except for the season opener where he passed for over 400 yards against a suspect Green Bay defense, he has been awful this year. Do you think San Fran would have been better off with Alex Smith? And where is their defense? It seems to be MIA. 2) Pittsburgh: Age and injuries taking their toll. Whatever happened to that vaunted front office? They have not really addressed any of talent and depth gaps that have become apparent in recent seasons. 3) The Giants: Poor pass protection and no defense = 0-3.

Doesn't the Barbarian have Manziel as his no1 pick in his 2014 mock draft?

Rogers signed to colts 53 man roster
prissythecat replied to clearwater cadet's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Rogers didn't show the Bills anything that made the FO want to continue to invest in him. The Colts have been struggling this season. No evidence yet that they will have a nice offense. -
I would argue that those teams had other issues that dragged them down. AP's awesome running last season was neutralized by some pretty crappy QB play for instance. He kept them in games but Ponder often just gave the ball up. When CJ ran for over 2k, didn't the Titans have a revolving door QB issue? The Jags also have not had any acceptable QB play in recent memory. Maybe the real conclusion should be that you need a reasonably balanced team to do well. You can't just have one dominant aspect and expect to do well. Brees has had some huge passing seasons as of late but the Saints went no where since there was no defense or running game to speak of. When Rodgers had that record setting year two season ago , didn't the Pack exit the playoffs early because their defense couldn't do squat?

Were you one of the guys who used to clamor regularly for the coaching staff to start Brian Brohm ? ;-) The question to ask is : "Has Easley shown enough to coaches during practice to merit giving him that spot over TJ?" . I would suspect the answer still is "No".

Wannsteds squad just lost the game.
prissythecat replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nothing wrong with their decision. Football is not a card game since skill differential matters and not everything is up to chance. -
Mario deserves praise for his game

I still think its a shame we didn't get Skelton . -
JETS D looks really good ... Offense, meh ...
prissythecat replied to DallasBillsFan1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree . I think it's not just the Jets D. Brady doesn't have any good receivers to throw to at this point with the recent loss of Amendola . Makes it hard for the Pats to get anything going . -
Mark Sanchez: "I won the QB Competition"
prissythecat replied to K D's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How long would it take to try to rehab the shoulder without surgery ? And is there a guarantee he can throw effectively and without pain ? -
Mark Sanchez: "I won the QB Competition"
prissythecat replied to K D's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think this is all moot at this point since Sanchez is likely out for the season now if he has surgery? No way he will perform at an acceptable level if he doesn't have it done imo. -
Lol. So they don't need to suit up for the Jets for instance?
-
Hmmmm. Kaepernick, Wilson, and Newton rushed for 22, 7, 38 total yards respectively. The read option mattered very little this weekend.
-
That injury is only possible if Sanchez was actually a woman. I think you mean "labrum" lol.
-
Sanchize's career stats: Completion % YPA TD Int. Rating 55.1 % 6.5 68 69 71.7 Those aren't really the numbers associated with a good QB. I would tend to say that Sanchez is very limited and you can only rely on him to manage the offense on a team where the defense and running game predominate. He cannot carry a team on his back like a Peyton Manning or a Brees for instance.

To defer or not to defer that is the question
prissythecat replied to D521646's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There are a number of interesting articles about the decision to receive or defer. Below is one of them. From the stats cited in the article, it seems that team that choose to receive the kickoff first on winning coin toss actually do less well than those who defer. "....Since the start of the 2010 season, flip-winning clubs that have opted to receive first are 185-209 (.470), versus 140-115 (.549) for those deferring." A lot of folks here clamored for the Bills to draft Geno though. Maybe he will surprise us and actually look good lol.
-
Yes. I'm sure Brady will make the Bills regret a few things. But it won't involve any plays to Aiken since he was released by the Pats last week.

Biggest bust in last half decade?
prissythecat replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yah. Wasn't quite half a decade. But it was close since he was drafted prior to 2007 season start (6 years) ;-) -

Jamarcus certainly should be at the top. The Raiders at this point have paid him close to 40 mil for sucking for a few seasons. -
The Raiders will be starting Terrelle Pryor this weekend rather than the much hyped Matt Flynn. I wonder what happened to the one game wonder who threw those 6 touchdowns (against one of the NFL's worst pass defenses ) that a lot of people got so excited about.

(Update) Jim Leonard back in Buffalo
prissythecat replied to RayFinkle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Saints cut Leonhard. -
During the playoff game that Denver lost to New England by 45-10, the New England defense (which wasn't a very good one ) was certainly kept off balance since they didn't care whether or not Tebow passed or ran lol.
-
What exactly are Tebow's strengths as a QB?
