  1. This team is puke! They should remove the 'B', and call themselves the Buffalo ILLS. 'cuz watching them makes me physically ill. hindsight is 20/20, but in our case I think it can be a fair assessment of the absolutely horrific job Modrak and Guy have done this decade. Do you realize, that of the players you just mentioned, we would have our defensive line fixed? If we only drafted Ngata instead of Whitner, and Orakpo instead of Maybin. I also would have made it impossible for DE Cameron Wake to have gone to Miami. This is all in only 3-4 seasons. We'd finally have a pass rush, and replacements for Schobel (who is only getting older) and Kelsay (who is waaaay overpaid and should be cut). I still would have drafted Wood, and I probably would have followed suit on the Peters trade. But veteran offensive lineman were available in Levi Jones (who looks solid with the 'Skins), Kendall Simmons (we waited too long) and Runyan. This roster needs a complete overhaul. Chambers is horrible. As is Scott. Bell and Meredith are projects. And anyone who thinks that Fitzpatrick is a capable back-up, does not know his a$$ from his elbow. Constantly throwing behind, around, below, above, and everywhere BUT on target does not make one a capable #2. The overhaul can start with the 2 morons in the front office- Modrak and Guy.
  2. You forgot an all important, continuous category: CHRIS CHAMBERS The guy does not belong in the NFL. And how many times do I have to say Orakpo would have been a better draft choice than Maybin? How frustrating is it to constantly watch the Bills have absolutely NO pass rush against the Patriots?
  3. I'm so tired of wasting my time even watching these damn Bills, and coming to this board to post about it. Yeah, I know, some smart @$$ will write 'then stop writing', but following this team for the past decade has become an experience in the depths of masochism. I really am not in the least interested in self-flagellation or mutilation, but watching this abysmal team week-in and week-out hurts. I can't help but care because I love the Bills, but how am I being rewarded for supporting this team by Mr. Wilson, Russ 'Barnum & Bailey' Brandon, and heckle and jeckle (AKA Modrak and Guy) in the personnel departments? This team is actually getting worse. If I was Trent I'd twist my ankle too, to simply save my LIFE from the jailbreak of defenders constantly pouring through the line. How many times did we see #99 of the Patriots look like a star today? That is an extraordinarily sub-par player there, and who is responsible? Once again, Chambers. On one play, Chambers did his best defensive lineman "swim" move, allowing #99 into the backfield and blowing up the play. What Chambers forgot to realize, was that he plays on the OFFENSIVE line (or maybe he does realize it and is just doing a Pro Bowl job of being offensive). The guy sucks. Then, Scott pulled similar moves a couple of times, allowing defender Banta-Cain- who was at one time on waivers from the Patriots- look like a stud LB and blowing up plays in the backfield. Van Pelt does not deserve to hold the headset of an offensive coordinator, let alone call plays. That first drive was magic, but then that idiot (was it Gaddis?) was flagged for a false start. on the freakin' 2!!!!! The only other highlight drive was the defensive 3-and-out the Bills forced on the Pats to start the second half. Otherwise, this was an embarrassment. I give Incognito credit, he had a couple of penalties (the block in the back one was a joke), but he played solid for someone coming in with only 2-3 days of practice. Reed having his head up somewhere dark with 4 minutes to play and dropping that sure TD. Reed fumbling a kick return. Maybin being offsides ON AN ONSIDE KICK THAT WE RECOVERED!!! The only Bills players in this game who were worth a damn were 1.) Fred Jackson, 2.) Poz, and 3.) Incognito. What happened to the 'O' after that first drive? How did they fall apart? Why did they leave the run game? I'm so sick of this franchise, this ownership, and this inept front office. I really don't know how as a player (especially on defense), they can keep taking the physical pounding that is the NFL game, keep losing, and keep coming back. Say what you want about injuries, but this team is not good enough. I'm so sick of 'Tampa 2', and its predication on a porous run 'D' and zone coverage that leaves pockets of 10-15 yards for teams like the Patriots and Welker to exploit as they constantly move the chains. If I was Owens I'd quit. I would not want to be on this team next year. This has got to be THE most pathetic team in the league. Now the Redskins have Allen. Most likely will get Shanahan as well, despite all of the backtracking. Seattle is rumored and has names it is targeting. Cleveland is close to terms with Holmgren. And what are the Bills doing? Watching the rest of the league correct themselves, while we sit coddling a blanket promising to shake things up and nothing happens? Brandon, Modrak, and Guy are OUR Vinny Cerrato. They are rot in our organization. Their heads need to roll. If not, I'm done. three seasons of 7-9. Now 5-11 when Brandon has the nerve to say, after the Cleveland loss, that the front office "did everything in its power" to field a winner. It was a nice try to attempt to distance himself from Jauron, but Brandon is pathetic. Modrak and Guy are proven losers. If Brandon and the front office worked so hard, why has the team REGRESSED? Answer: because Modrak, Guy, and Brandon are not competent. We have got to get a top notch NFL GM that has built a winner before.
  4. The only 'upset' I had today was my stomach, after watching this puke of a team play like it.
  5. First off, STOP with the Martz stuff. He has been run out of wherever he has coached and will not be a solution. And NO to Billick as well. Phew! Now with that said, I hope what you are proposing occurs, but I think that it would be near impossible. I would love for players like DT's McCoy and Suh to fall to us, but I don't see it happening. If we get a starting LT out of our first round this year, I will be satisfied.
  6. The good thing is, 2 of those 3 are gone (well, we don't know how much influence Levy still has whispering in Ralph's ear), and 1 left. Guy MUST be fired!
  7. that was next on my list...
  8. Yeah, the team I thought the Bills USED to mirror was the Redskins (I say used to, as the 'Skins have recently changed their fortunes by losing Cerrato and hiring Bruce Allen). Now, the Redskins, having brought in outsider Sherm Lewis to run the offense, have begun to use wasted picks Thomas and Kelly. Thomas is starting to look good. Kelly, well...he does look like a bust. Why can't we work Hardy into the lineup? He's supposedly done nothing but rehab and study.
  9. There needs to be nothing more said. Modrak and Guy must go.
  10. I believe that injuries are a result of several factors. Obviously, the extreme contact nature of the NFL has always led to injuries. But the sheer volume of IR'd players, and certain types of injuries were simply unheard of a decade ago and are as a result of a couple of factors, IMO. For the Bills, we play an aggressive, defensive style with an emphasis on defensive speed as opposed to size and strength. When we are playing most teams that employ a bigger team philosophy, as the game wears on and the offense cannot stay on the field, our defenders get worn down and beat up. Another factor IS the increased size of today's player. These forces moving and stopping suddenly cause greater force per collision, and are harder to stop once started. But perhaps one of the biggest influences is the amount and types of anabolic drug use of today's NFL. Torn tendons and muscles are as a result of too much muscle size/ force for the supporting tissue (tendons and ligaments) to withstand. Can anyone site achilles tendon tears, biceps tear, pectoral tears, or tricep tears in the players of the 80's and 90's? Now, we all know that anabolic steroid use was heavy in the 60's and 70's, and I doubt that it was truly eliminated in the 80's and 90's. The NFL likes to boast about its drug testing program, but it has been proven that they are simply the best of the worst. The cost to truly test is exorbitant, and not even the Olympic Games truly test properly. We also see that rogue chemists and drug manufacturers (Ex: BALCO) have mastered designer drugs, created solely to beat any test and to stay one (or more) steps ahead. Then again, alot of injuries are just a freak accident on a play.
  11. Holmgren already said "No". Evans could use a pay reduction, but should not be traded. Though I do like the Brandon Marshall idea. I got it- lose Owens and get Marshall. Now i can get behind that one...
  12. I think that this is a bogus argument. On the surface- you are right. But success begets success. I will direct you to the Jim Kelly and Bruce Smith draft picks. Kelly and Elway both refused the teams that picked them (Buffalo and Indy, respectively). Kelly spurned the Bills to play in the USFL with the Houston Gamblers, and Elway was traded to Denver. Bruce Smith was also quoted as not wanting to come to Buffalo, as was Bennett, etc. What they did not realize was obviously that they were all highly talented players being collected by one smart and savvy GM in Bill Polian. Once they started winning, no one said a thing about not wanting to be in Buffalo. In fact, Kelly, Tasker, and Kelso still live there. Thomas recently moved back to Buffalo from Orlando. So, on the surface, you are right. No one wants to come to Buffalo because they are NOT WINNING. We get a proven, NFL GM in place, and things will start to change.
  13. Not yet... ...I'm finishing up my Marketing degree...
  14. Thank you for those comments, and the case you make is what I have been saying for over a year now. Modrak and Guy are the 2 sole constants (with the exception of Wilson), during this decade of mediocrity. We've had numerous coaches, quarterbacks, linemen, running backs, etc, etc, etc. The ONLY things to remain the same in terms of the football side are Modrak and Guy. What have they proven, during this past DECADE, to warrant their continued employment? They should have been fired when Jauron was sent packing.
  15. I agree. I find it sad that the Redskins got the guy I was hoping we'd get in Bruce Allen. Now Shanahan is rumored to be talking with Washington as both he and Allen are good friends. Man, there was a time, when Buffalo was leading the league in getting better. Drafting Kelly, Thomas, Reed, Smith, trading for Bennett, signing L. Smith and Kenny Davis in the old Plan B. Step by step, the pieces of the eventual 4 consecutive Super Bowl teams were being accumulated. The only thing that the Bills lead the league in now is mediocrity. And they sure are consistent at it. If we don't have a real, proven GM and a front office minus Guy and Modrak, I'm done.
  16. It's WaRRICK Dunn, as in WARRICK.
  17. H2O, we NEED a new front office more than a new coaching staff! Modrak and Guy have had 8-9 seasons to prove themselves. HOW have they justified keeping their jobs?
  18. Right. That is my fear too, bud. IF, we come out of this offseason with Modrak and Guy still on the team, and 'Barnum & Bailey' Brandon still calling the shots, it will PROVE conflict of interest having someone find their own replacement, and it will also allude to the sorry mental state of Wilson as he allows those WITH AN INTEREST IN THE POSITION to find their own replacement. If this front office is still intact next season, I think I may be done following the Bills, or any team for that matter. Who knows, I might fall in love with my (now) home team Washington Redskins. I hope that I'm wrong...
  19. We're better off without 'em. I used to respect Holmgren. His disdain is not based on any facts; for Cleveland is less of a thriving metropolis than Buffalo. I'm starting to get concerned, however, that the Bills are allowing coaching and GM candidates to slip through their fingers like sand in your hand. If this happens, and we come out of this with the same front office structure, then it will, IMO, prove that Brandon is working to save his own skin and not seeing the bigger picture of creating a truly competitive and viable NFL franchise with the Buffalo Bills. It would also suggest that Wilson is closer to the mental state of Al Davis than any of us could fathom. I promise not to jump to conclusions, but this waiting is killing me. Why wait until the end of the season when 2-5 other clubs will be also conducting coaching and GM searches? Why force us into a situation where we have to bid for services of a few against possibly teams with bigger payrolls than ours? True, there is a flood of candidates this year compared to years past, but there are only so many to go around. I sincerely hope that we are not sitting around.
  20. I remember him. Where is Ferguson these days? I thought he went way of Arizona...
  21. I could not agree more with you on the trigger part. There is an article in today's Buff News from Allen Wilson- that Shanahan is now in talks with the Redskins for the coaching position (even though Zorn is still the head coach at the moment), and that when Shanahan talked with the Bills it was UNDER THE UNDERSTANDING THAT (BRUCE) ALLEN WOULD BE PART OF THE DEAL. Now, that was MY Christmas wish list. A competent, proven GM with a talented head coach. Bruce Allen going to the 'Skins hurt me, as I really wanted him in Buffalo. Brandon was supposed to have an 'in'. Apparently, that 'in' was not enough, because as soon as the Redskins post was available he was hired an hour later. Since Allen was not currently on a team, it would not mean the Redskins violated any league tampering rules. However, as you suggest it also implies that the two parties (Redskins and Allen) had talked before. And I will tell you- as much as I now hate Holmgren for his arrogance towards coaching the Bills, he was absolutely right when he blasted the Redskins for how they handled Zorn when they brought in Sherm Lewis. Zorn, if he was smart, would resign. First Lewis strips him of his play-calling, now Shanahan is in talks about coaching the SKins WHILE ZORN IS STILL THE COACH! Talk about classless! And I am starting to get a little jittery about any future Bills moves. Allowing Allen to go the Skins, and not being more proactive in signing him WHEN HE WAS AVAILABLE, reeks of conflict of interest. Ralph talks tough, and allows Brandon to conduct the search. From where I sit, and with Allen and now possibly Shanahan going to the Redskins, Brandon is obviously not working hard enough at this point. I'm worried that the Bills are being too casual about all of this, when they really need to be extremely aggressive. We NEED a competent and proven front office. This week, one major possibility came off of the market.
  22. Uh, by 'scumbags' don't you mean Democratic/ Progressive baffoons who keep making moves to increase OUR taxes while they consistently find ways not to pay their own?
  23. Surprised? I would be unhappy too if I was constantly subject to the taxes in this nation's greatest Socialist Welfare State. Well, that...and the general lack of sunshine.
  24. First things first, you once BOUGHT a Rob Johnson jersey?!!?!?!??!?!?
