There should be a national dialogue in getting back to work

ADP report came in much stronger than expected. Such a huge difference from the expectations. -
The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
Magox replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Really? So it’s ok to get COVID if you are protesting for social justice? Man, even the health experts are racist. -
This is for all you minimizing the looting and rioting And yes you are minimizing it when you make this the secondary issue. Truly awful. I support whatever it takes to get these communities under control. Don’t blame the guy Filming it, he called 911. But the guy who killed him filmed it live on FB before it was taken down

If there ever was a civil war, I know who I’d put my money on lol

@Jauronimo I suppose you will retract your statement? Considering we now have an official statement from the United States Park Police Even if they had used Tear gas, I still wouldn't had been outraged about it considering the circumstances. We are in times of the most lawlessness that we have seen in our life times and the situation is still not under control.

We're on your side, we're on your side! lol

Isn't this the report that the media has been hyperventilating about? And then this

I didn't see this until now. And thank you. I agree and am desperate for a real honest nationwide debate on policy. In a way, that is why I was hoping Bernie would win so we could at least to a degree have a more stark contrast in policy between the two competing visions. Bernie wouldn't have run away from his vision and Trump wouldn't have either.

At least you thought this out. I disagree with some of it but in spirit I think we are at least in the same ball park.
-
My my my. Well what do you know? For the record, I don't want the US military to have to do this. But if local and state governments cannot protect their citizens and communities, then this is the rational response.

The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19

You don't say -
I hate to say this, but I am so angered by the vacuous and dishonest arguments that are being made from those on the other side, that I agree with the characterization of battle lines. I just hope that the majority of the country don't have these lawless views.
-
So Rob was right, you do believe that these grievances justifies and supersedes law abiding citizens rights and protections. That's twice now that you have pretty clearly implied this.
-
You are not getting it! You nor I can quantify how many are participating but what we can quantify is the actual damage that is occurring. The end result whether it was only one person or a million doesn't matter. What matters are the people injured, lives lost, businesses torched, housing projects destroyed, items stolen, people put out of work due to this (which are tens of thousands if not more), people feeling threatened and communities being destroyed. This has now hijacked what was a well-intentioned atrocious murder that was perpetuated by a heartless bastard. There was near universal agreement that something needed to be done, now because of all this crap that is happening, the focus has shifted. And rightfully so because there is a lot of tangible human suffering that is occurring because of these riots.
-
Who gives a flying flip if you believe it's a "tiny portion" of the people out in the streets. The fact is that there have been thousands of small businesses destroyed, many law enforcement officers have been injured, some have died, communities have been destroyed, housing projects for low income folks have been torched. This is the reality! So again, you are minimizing it by saying "tiny portion". Tiny would be a few businesses, maybe one death. A few people injured. That would be tiny. Thousands of small businesses is not tiny.

This is what an oppressive authoritarian state looks like, which is a view that is shared by some on this board and in society. This view needs to die quickly. Like I said, Orwellian.

Take your awful takes back to the Stadium Wall!

I love chess. I usually play it seriously for about 6 months out of the year. Not all at the same time but on and off and it's all online. But when I play, I play like 10 games a day. I usually fluctuate between 1950-2050 range. Sometimes when I'm really hot, I can touch around 2100 level. I thoroughly enjoy Sunday mornings, drinking coffee and playing chess.

By not forcefully condemning it to the max, falsely and dishonestly making an equivalency to peaceful protesters being abused and hardly discussing it is a form of tacit minimization. The idea that people are focusing on this as opposed to the true abuse from the looters, rioters and arsonists is as I mentioned Orwellian. And for those of you who are partaking in this patently repulsive notion, yes you are part of an Orwellian construct. This is IN FACT a societal condition that is destructive to the welfare of our free and open society. We have laws for a reason, and just because an injustice in the system occurred and even if it is systemic, it doesn't give the right for these people to not follow the laws. This is pure destruction and there are shades and elements of 'The purge' that is taking place. This is pure anarchy. But this is "Warfare" they say. Warfare!
-
So no tear gas? Wasn't that the justification that was used for "warfare"? If true, it just gets worse and worse for these people attempting to make these INFOWAR sort of looney claims.

I want everyone to know, that Governor Murphy from New Jersey believes this: In other words, via his dictate, those law abiding rubes who were protesting about their livelihoods being destroyed, again by DICTATE, that the protests from "nail salon" owner's isn't nearly as important as those that protest for social justice. Who the ***** is he to say something like that? These people disgust me. I don't know if I have felt as angry about our political discourse than what we are having right now. The counter argument is completely vacuous and bankrupt. They don't have a leg to stand on.
-
Is this true? about the tear gas? Not that it substantively matters to me, because they were asked to move and they didn't listen.
-
Your false equivalency is sickening. You are part of the problem. Of course not, they are sick. They disgust me.
