Warfare? Did you just say warfare? Ok, that's all I need to know with what sort of argument that I'm up against.
-
There is no equivalency between the two. These protesters resisted. They were warned three times to move back peacefully, and they declined. So no, I don't share your view on this, at all. And when you say "understanding that violence against the police is wrong", the mere fact that you are more outraged against people who resisted the police and got tear gassed (Gasp) over the true brutality against communities and law enforcement from these protesters, I think perfectly encapsulates the Orwellian society that we are living in today. No outrage for law abiding citizens who have their small businesses, property and dreams torched, but outraged for police officers attempting to restore order. It's disgusting.
-
If you are more focused on tear gas being applied on the protesters more so than the 4 police officers who were shot in St Louis, Police officer shot in the head and died in Las Vegas, the police officer who was ambushed and shot in Iowa, the national guard members who were ran over in Buffalo NY, the police officer who was ran over in NYC, the multiple NY officers who were gang beat up by rioters and the countless stores that were destroyed, then I don't know what to tell you, other than your priorities are all out of wack.

In other words Biden who was a senator all his life and VP for 8 years, could never do any of the things he proposed, when in fact they never federally prosecuted any of these sort of police abuses that occurred and that he passed legislation that contributed to "systemic racism". Joe "you ain't black" Biden has no authority to speak on this matter when he has been a part of the system that he just railed on all his life.

I just brought this up to my wife yesterday, how I at first cringed when I used to hear it. My mind has since changed. So to answer your question. I do

I wake up this morning sickened not just by all the violence and crime but at how utterly dishonest and destructive the media’s role. They have been beyond atrocious throughout Trump’s presidency but right now, they have reached new depths of derangement. It’s got me on edge today. Pathetic
-
This is absolutely insane. Cops being run over on multiple occasions, killed by gunfire in various cities and beaten in others. And the national media will pretend it didn’t happen. I hope the press secretary plays clips of them and scolds the media for abdication of their journalistic responsibilities and shames them publicly on live tv

This is loonier than Infowars

The way you know Trump had an effective speech is how much the media is foaming at the mouth. They are going nuts

The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19

Better across the board -
This is about as whipped up into a frenzy as I have seen the media and that is saying something. They are apoplectic and apparently lefties on social media are as well. The media is going to try to tip the scales as they always do and attempt to amplify every single thing law enforcement does that is perceived wrong. Hopefully they can quell these riots without too much violent incident.

Wow! Tucker Carlson is taking everyone down including Trump.

What was happening before wasn’t working. You cannot allow degenerate criminals to continue on destroying communities. The number one responsibility of our elected leaders is to protect their constituents. The local mayors throughout most of the country have been utterly feckless and have failed and a lot of it is because they are too afraid to be seen going against what they believe is their voting constituency all in the name of identity politics - that and they don’t have the stomach to do what it takes to protect their community. You cannot continue to keep doing the same thing over and over without changing the dynamic. Whether this was the right decision, we will see. But the dynamic has changed and that is certainly better than what we had yesterday.
-
This is quite extraordinary what’s going on. symbolic to walk through the ravaged areas. I support the decision 100% and I just hope that not much blood will be shed.

I think most Americans agree with the substance of the message.

If already posted, my bad but damn!

There will never be an honest messenger in the media while Trump is president. Which is why an oval office address where his message will be clear to 10's of millions of people will be completely unfiltered. They can judge for themselves.
-
I don't expect words to stop these agitators. No one's words will stop them. But it's important to communicate things to the public and try to let them know that you empathize with them and that you are doing everything possible to protect them.
-
I saw it, it was a good speech. But it's not enough. That was 2 days ago and each night that passes is getting worse and worse. That is not nearly enough.
-
Or Option C - Have a national oval office address - where 10's of millions will watch the address - 3 main messages Empathy for the African American community Where he discusses the wrongful death of George Floyd - How that it's the fundamental right of every American to protest in peace - and that how his justice department has two open investigations on Aubrey and George Floyd and that the country demands swift justice - How he will begin his "listening tours" (which they are currently pondering) of the African American communities on how to address this situation - Address the Riots - That this is a country of laws. -- And what we are seeing now is a complete disgrace and is dishonoring the name of George Floyd - That these rioters are not the same people as the peaceful protesters and that as a society we need to be able to differentiate between the two - And that outside agitators such as ANTIFA are fomenting hate - How local and state governments have a duty to protect their community What he is doing about it - That his Justice department will investigate these agitators and find out who is funding them - How he is activating the National Guard in various parts to provide support - That the Justice Department along with the FBI will actively look to find and place additional charges on these people who have traveled interstate who are partaking in the acts of arson/looting/rioting as this would be a Federal crime - How they will classify these people as domestic terrorists. Close it with that if the local and state governments cannot protect their citizens and community that he will get the Federal government to do it. Some of these things are already in place, but most people are not aware of them. I'm watching these videos and they are horrifying. There are rumors of this growing and moving into the suburbs. Heck even in my medium sized town of Melbourne Fl, which is solidly for Trump. I've seen people protesting peacefully. But that's during the day. And I've seen rumors that there is rioting set to happen and burn down the mall. Is it true? Who knows? But there is no reason to dismiss it. My wife is on complete edge and she doesn't even watch the news that often. I watch these videos and I see chaos reigning throughout the country and it's only growing with each passing day. And when I see Trump hide out in his bunker after he just got done tweeting "LAW AND ORDER", while protesters in front of his residence are growing and attempting to burn down St Johns Church. It just reminds me that he appears to be just like the rest of us, another simple bystander tweeting words in large caps. It would do him a lot of good if he can address the things that I mentioned.

Ryan Saavedra - big Trump supporter. This view is becoming clear with each passing hour. The growing calls from Conservatives wondering - Where the hell is Trump? - This is a complete abdication of leadership. And just to be clear, none of these people influenced my view of this. It has become increasingly clear over the past 36 hours that while the country is burning down there seems to be a vacuum in direction.

Coronavirus seems so less important now. Anyway, this seems relevant. -

Yep, the age demographic of these people stand about a 1 in 1000 chance of dying even if they did contract it. -
Sounds like Trump is not wanting to give an oval office address. The White House is claiming he has already done all he could do and that he is the "Law and order" president. I can tell you right now, there are a lot of people that are fearful of what is going on and it's spiraling out of control. People believe that this is going to start moving into the suburbs. This would be a really good opportunity for him to get out and nationally address it with actual real substantive steps on what they will do to help restore order. Because if this is all he can do, then it's not enough. And he will look just as feckless as the liberal mayors. Every time he tweets while all this is going is a reminder of this.
