  1. Wow! The Associated Press actually did some real journalism and went after Cuomo hard for his mishandling of the virus.
  2. Go to the tab Florida Testing at the bottom. Then go to Percent Positive for Laboratory testing - It will go back the past 6 weeks...But it's only updated until May 10th and not present. Which you know what it is at this time which is lower than May 10th. 6 weeks ago it was at 7%. You can imagine that it was even higher two weeks before then. https://experience.arcgis.com/experience/96dd742462124fa0b38ddedb9b25e429
  3. Yeah, two month chart and the rate has plummeted. I will try to find one.
  4. This is newsworthy. CDC just provided their best estimates of the virus and it includes a mortality rate of just .26%. WOW That would be in the lower end of where I had pegged it of .25% - .5% And look at how low the hospitalization rates are by age.
  5. Chef the way they look at these are not day to day as there are variances and quirks with the reporting systems. The way they view this is with 7 day moving averages. If you just imagined a trend line it would show that it’s declining Look where it was one week ago. In the 4’s. Just to put things in perspective the national average is at around 5%. So mid 2’s looks really solid.
  6. Florida numbers still showing very low positive test rates. That's the key, if that remains low then they can open up even more.
  7. The little told story of #COVID19
  8. Slow steady decline across the board. looks like about a 20-25% drop in deaths and about a 20% drop in positive test rate. With slight decline in confirmed positives. Week over week.
  9. I am typically not a Monday morning sort of Quarterback sort of analysis sort of guy. But this was entirely avoidable. Amazing how the media isn't honing in on this. Actually, it's not amazing, it's wholly predictable.
  10. Florida - With another good report. Florida received another big dump of test results: more than 50,000 results with roughly 1,300 new cases. For this batch: Statewide Positivity: 2.5% Positivity for initial Phase I counties: 1.66% Get ready for the media to report "Despite recently opening up their economy Florida see's 2 week high of 1300 new cases today in Florida"
  11. Not only are we seeing verifiable data to help support this conclusion but more and more voices backed with evidence are coming to this conclusion.
  12. File this under the category of "WGAF?" More on the Florida data chick - That mug shot tho
  13. Yep, there is not going to be as steep of a decline because they never had the incline they did. By and large most of the states had the “ideal” flattened out curve throughout with a few exceptions . So I wouldn’t expect to see dramatic drop offs as large states such as Florida, Texas, Georgia and California most likely won’t go too much lower. The states that can still drop off decently would be PA, MI, IL, CT and MA. The rest of the states are pretty low. My hopes are that the summer absolutely crushes the virus. That is a possibility but there are diverging forces working against it as people begin to get out more. If that R rate keeps dropping maybe we will be in for a good surprise.
  14. Improvement pretty much across the board.
  15. Just as many of us have said, the whole testing thing was overblown back when we were discussing if the nation would have enough for phase 1. Not only is there enough for phase 1, there is easily enough for phase 2.
  16. And this is why it is taking so long to come down to a definitive conclusion. you will need to read on down the thread
  17. They help, but that isn't the only factor either. The way the R Rate is explained is sort of like a slope. Once it begins to go down that slope, it's easier for it to continue on down. Same Vice Versa. It's sorta like a matter of inertia, kinda but not really.
  18. Here is an analysis by JP Morgan. It will surprise many people. Basically the R Rate is declining in places more so after lockdowns are ending. They concluded that the lockdowns may have been justified to begin with but now they no longer are.
  19. It's gotta be true or else De Santis would be absolutely crushed by the media and have defamation charges against him. You can tell that this tiny itsy bitsy information he had in his back pocket which gave him all the confidence to rip her to shreds to then just throw that out at the last moment. OMG
  20. What the hell??? Really? Is that true?
