  1. I'm glad to see the Bills have multiple first round picks this season. According to TBD, they are going to spend a first round pick on a DE to replace Mario, a CB to replace McKelvin and a safety to replace Rambo. That's in addition to using first round picks on an OLB and OT of course. Now it they can only sign them all!
  2. He was awfully good the first few weeks of the season. But he really needs to retire. Does anyone think he has been focused and working hard on coming back better than ever this off season while considering retirement? And then there are his injury concerns. In the NFL you've got to be 100% or you're better off not showing up.
  3. Don't pay for past performance. That's a losing strategy. You have to anticipate whether he will be worth it going forward. We'll see. And I'm not trying to save the Pegula's any money, but to a large degree it's a zero sum game. Money spent on LG will not be available to address other areas of the team so the investment needs to make a mark.
  4. Yes. Look no further than Kellen Moore and Ryan Fitzpatrick for 80% of the explanation.
  5. I think you are 100% correct. Although I wonder how many of the 53% would be ok with OJ marrying their daughters.
  6. I think he will have cost himself a lot of money. We'll see what kind of contract he gets but suitors will be wary given what he put on film.
  7. I think that this reaction was conflated with the happiness at the perceived discrimination being revealed. I strongly suspect that if you took a poll today the number of blacks who say they think OJ was innocent would be much less.
  8. I really don't see why you think that. If Williams comes back, then Williams and Graham with Rambo playing in spot duty is a pretty strong lineup at safety, IMO. Graham had 127 tackles last season with 2 picks. What more do you want? The only reason to consider Cromartie is as an insurance policy against Williams not making it. Personally, I think they're just going to draft a CB in the first couple of days and call it a day as far as the secondary goes.
  9. Agree 100%. Cromartie doesn't seem logical as a McKelvin replacement but he could be a safety candidate if they can get his salary demands down. Even there, however he'd be a very high priced backup behind Graham and Williams.
  10. Actually 2 fumbles, with 1 lost. But either way it's about average for a RB. I think the NFL average is somewhere around 1 fumble per 100 carries (unless you're NE of course). Key will be to see what happens when his work load increases.
  11. I'm more worried about fumbles than injuries with an upright running style. The injury concern comes from guys who try to run people over instead of avoid them. Backs who last always seem to avoid getting hit square. Guys who consistently try to plow over DLs an LBs don't usually last.
  12. My favorite play from that video series is the second one, where Corbin Bryant starts out behind Mario Williams and then, by running while Mario is walking, gets in on the tackle. The best part is that he has to juke by Mario to get around him after Mario stops cold in front of him.
  13. Maybe the coach was hitting on him. Answer should have been: "Why, are you looking for a date?"
  14. Johnny Cocharan successfully cast doubt on the entire LAPD. He basically implied that they are racist and incompetent, so how can they possibly be trusted to testify, investigate and collect evidence against a black man? So, even though there was plenty of evidence it was invalid because the LAPD collected it. If they had found a bloody knife at the time then he would have just said that they planted it or improperly collected/stored it or whatever so who knows if it was really OJs. I honestly don't know of anyone who though OJ was innocent at the time. Even my black friends who were happy with the verdict were happy because it cast light on what they say is systematic police discrimination and abuse against black people, not because an innocent man was set free.
  15. That's correct. OJs acquittal had nothing to do with lack of evidence. It's always about race. Always.
  16. I'm a little surprised. If he was really willing to renegotiate his contract then he would have been a decent backup. Better than Butler or Brooks to be sure. Even if Cromartie is the plan, I seriously doubt that they can sign him for less than McKelvin would have taken. Maybe they couldn't reach an agreement on a renegotiation. They certainly couldn't keep him at the current cap hit.
  17. On the other hand, this offense suits his skill set very well and he may have trouble in another setting. That's worth something too. The Bills made it clear when they dumped Levitre that they don't value guard play enough to pay one like an all pro. If that's what Incognito wants, then I have little doubt he will be released. Bills fans are cheap.
  18. You say that Taylor can throw the ball like it's self evident when it's not. Maybe I'm missing something, but can you name a game this year that Taylor won for the Bills by throwing the ball? Maybe week 3 vs Miami? Maybe. He didn't have a 300 yard passing game all season.
  19. I think your "analysis" is way too simplistic. Taylor is also a "QB like him", by which I assume you mean a QB whose running skills are their primary asset. By your standard, why will Taylor not suck too going forward?
  20. I realize that their current form is important and by that standard Taylor is playing better, but lets keep in mind that Kaepernick was playing at a very high level just three seasons ago. He was a major factor in SFs Super Bowl run. He has every measurable you could want and he didn't suddenly forget how to play.
  21. Would make too much sense for the NFL to do this. More likely that they add Wednesday night games next year instead.
  22. Actually, I'm a big fan of the ex-CB safety concept. You get their experience and leadership and they can usually still cover a little too.
  23. I just read the article. Moving him to safety in case Aaron Williams doesn't recover makes a little more sense.
  24. This is their backup QB. They're going to sink or swim with Luck. Let's not make more of it that it's worth.
