Watching Rex Ryan slam his headset at the end...
EasternOHBillsFan replied to Spiderweb's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Teams like the Patriots, Steelers, and Colts T.C.O.B. and they act like machines rather than members of a zoo. That is what separates them as champions from teams like the Jets and Ravens who want to turn the week into a circus sideshow. If the Colts weren't so banged up this year, then the Jets would have NEVER gotten past them in the first place. -

Hell NO... what good is a coach that talks all of this @!# but can't even get to the Super Bowl? See Schottenheimer, Marty. Chan Gailey has the same number of rings as a HC... ZERO. I like Gailey, and I wouldn't trade him in for that blowhard. You earn victories not by bluster, but by EXECUTION! -

The Jests were so hyped up for that game that they expended all of their energy. This is a great thing for the Stillers, and to save us from endless Jests bulls***, the Stillers have to win next weekend, and they will. -

Okay Mallet, make me a believer
EasternOHBillsFan replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm glad someone else is paying attention, and it is not just one or two games with Mallett, but a body of work that shows his tendency to lose big games. I am NOT blaming him for the dropped passes, but when his team did make all of the plays such as in the Alabama game, he threw the worst pass you could throw in a "win the game" situation after blowing a big lead. This is his MO, like it or not, and I'm glad you were paying attention! -
Did anyone else see this? Bruce Campbell: Davis unhappy about Campbell, McFadden This is very insightful.

EasternOHBillsFan replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If you watched Mallett play against Alabama, then you know what to expect at the end of an important game- he is incapable of closing the deal. Last night, he did the same exact thing... when his team needed him to make the throws required to win the game, he inexplicably falls flat on his face. Forget all the talk of mobility and reading defenses- if you cannot win the big game and fail consistently, then you won't make it in the NFL where most teams are built from the same schools like Alabama, Auburn, Ohio State, etc. I have been wrong sometimes in the past regarding some draftees, but he is anti-clutch. -

Official Shanahan Thread
EasternOHBillsFan replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think that is a lot of hooey- I think Shanahan saw he wasn't going to be able to have the large amount of power he was seeking nor a team with much talent as he saw it, and declined. We just got plain lucky that he rejected Buffalo- he has proven that without a Hall of Fame QB and a talented team, he's just no good. -
Official Shanahan Thread
EasternOHBillsFan replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Who does Washington have at the skill positions? Not hardly enough for an elite quarterback like McNabb, and it shows. I blame the Redskins lack of front office ability and talent while the coach does a miserable job. I hope he goes to Arizona where he can lead a quality team to victories, a team that badly needs a quarterback. Anthony Armstrong? An old Santana Moss? Shanahan has a poor history of working without a ready-made team, and so yet again he fails. -

Irregardless is a word and just because you can't find it on Microsoft Word's dictionary does not make it automatically not a word! Here ya go, here's your crow: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/irregardless -
What did you do when Stevie dropped the TD?
EasternOHBillsFan replied to UB2SF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My first reaction was like this- "Ohh MAN so close!!!! It's OK, lets move the ball and kick the FG and win this $#@$!" I was furious when Chan chose not to attempt the FG and punted. -
Hines Ward calls out the league
EasternOHBillsFan replied to Rob's House's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kelly Holcomb and Rob Johnson actually put their teams in position to win in the playoffs. Lee Evans had both Losman AND Edwards to play with, guys who did NOTHING. -

They are faced with some stiff competition- very hard to penetrate that lineup. -

Lee Evans has endured some of the worst quarterback play in Bills history- Bills fans should never forget it just because now he's finally diminishing... -

EasternOHBillsFan replied to Bills99999's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Shane Macmurray will be back in a Bills uniforum next year, because his akillees will be heeled. Fitzgibbons is making is so that we don't be having to draft a corderback in the draft, and I'm feeling an offendsive lineman or a defendsive one in the first round. When he hits Stevie Jenkins or Lee Ebersol for a big play, it only makes it moor obvious. Stop hatein on my man Fitzgibbons and give him a chance to sheen!!!!! -
Is there a worse TV Analyst than ...
EasternOHBillsFan replied to VirginiaMike's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My BAD list, past and present: Phil Simms - always seems to question plays if they are obvious or not on the replay Dan Dierdorf - makes outrageous statements several times during any game he does Pat Summerall - bores me to tears with his drawn out, monotone delivery Joe Theismann - tries to be controversial with his opinions, and comes out arrogant Matt Millen - poor analysis and tendency to favor certain teams Tony Kornheiser - just flat out bad on all counts Todd Christensen - the worst of all time; judgemental, whining delivery, forever questioning half the play calls- fingers on a chalk board to me. -
Did George Edwards sit down with Wade Phillips
EasternOHBillsFan replied to 1B4IDie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The market value of swizzle sticks would have taken a dramatic downward spiral, resulting in layoffs. WHAT IF we had had Ted Marchibroda as our offensive coordinator for the entire Jim Kelly-led Bills teams in the 90's? WHAT IF we had kept Bill Polian instead of the finance guy? Damn, there are some what ifs with regards to management, huh? -
Did you EVER complain about Bruce Smith or Phil Hansen not tackling when they had a good shot at a man?? NO, and so when you don't have to worry about it, you don't NOTICE IT.
-
Johnson ALMOST made a big play. McKelvin ALMOST made a big play. Kelsay ALMOST made several big plays, but yet he didn't MAKE the big plays save one. That's why I was constantly yelling at the TV, especially when he had Roethlisberger clean and didn't fully wrap him up. Bruce Smith or Phil Hansen finished their tackles... ALMOST making plays isn't how you win.

Can Fitzpatrick Overcome His Choking?
EasternOHBillsFan replied to NaPolian8693's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thank God some of you weren't around when Jim Kelly played in 1986 and 1987, the original gunslinger, or else you would have said he was a choker as well. Luckily there are some who understand that football is a team game, and that just because someone is a starting quarterback doesn't mean every loss is their fault.
