  1. They're different but not separate. Both are violations of the rules. Its just that one already has a check and subsequent punishment in place, whereas the Patriots issue (so it seems) does not. If a committee was in place I feel they would have standard protocols for things like these ready. Inconsistent punishments always make headlines, this would allay some of that.
  2. So what I don't understand is, there's a rules committee so why isn't their a punishment committee? (if you will). It seems as though its all up to Goodell to hand down fines and punishments and he's very arbitrary (i.e. Ray Rice fiasco). I think they should have a committee, in a timely matter, to consistently investigate player conduct and rules violations and then decide on punishment. I say this because I heard that the NFL hasn't even spoken with Brady yet. A committee should have had him questioned within 24 hours.
  3. "...best.part?? ALL the wings I can eat!"
  4. The threads I saw have been about they who's not the why so many
  5. My original thought was that its like shooting bb's at a barn and hoping one hits instead of a carefully aimed shot. If I go to buy a shirt I don't look at many and just hope I find something I like. I know I want a blue one with buttons. So I'm thinking instead of looking at many coaches they should know what type they want (offensive minded, defensive minded, previous experience etc. But as T Master pointed out if I put all that money in a team I would want to be thorough
  6. I just assumed that because they track players all the time and seem to be able to fill in a roster spot because of injury fairly quickly that someone would be keeping tabs on coaches too. Just in case something like this happens and they would have a short list to pick from. Maybe because they haven't been this diligent in the past it seems a bit out of character.
  7. The Buffalo Bills have or scheduled to have interviews with 15 different people for the head coaching job. Should I be glad they're being diligent or nervous that they might not know what they're doing? I thought that teams usually had a contingency plan in their back pocket for situations like this.
  8. This is what I wear on my conjugal visits to Hernandez
  9. Darn it man, we told you twice.."Dark brown on the left"
  10. I think the Lions should look at it as the glass is half full. It was a David & Goliath game, the Bills were the underdogs and they were excited because they beat a really good team. If Detroit was 0-4 this never would have happened.
  11. Wasn't Steve the emergency quarterback? I seem to remember a game when we were down to our 3rd string and that was mentioned.
  12. Belicgick wouldn't be afraid to trade him to another team in the division. He's arrogant and thinks he's the smartest guy in the room.
  13. I'm amazed at how David Lee has ruined Fitzpatrick. He looks like he's pushing the ball not throwing it (If that analogy makes sense). I almost think that Fitz is overthinking his mechanics and not thinking about just playing.
  14. They're keeping an extra kicker this year so that's going to eat a roster spot for one of these fringe guys.
  15. This is where I heard it last, from todays TBD regarding estate taxes. http://www.wgrz.com/sports/pro_hockey/NHL/sabres/article/171360/120/twobillsdrive "Although Wilson, soon to be 93 years old, has always insisted the team will not be sold during his lifetime, he has given no assurances at all about what happens after he passes. He says he wants the team to stay in Buffalo, but nobody in his family wants to inherit and run the team. Since the Bills are worth close to $800 million, give or take a few mil here or there, and the estate tax would be substantial, Ralph's wife Mary and his daughters understandably would put the team up for sale. " I understand the other comment about a management team not getting profits, I was just wondering out loud that if Jim was serious about keeping the Bills here, this would be an option for him to do so and make a few bucks.
  16. Bear with me on this: I keep hearing how the main decision Ralph doesn't want to give the team to his family after he passes is because the estate taxes would be huge. Why couldn't Jim Kelly's group of backers, instead of buying the Bills, "loan" his wife the money for the estate tax and then they would become like a management company and she would be a silent owner? They'd get the Bills for a lot cheaper and the family would continue to get millions in yearly income. I know she'd miss out on a $800 million payday, but she'd still have a decent income from the team.
  17. So are your previous 3,120 posts this insightful? You a little angry because your Mom didn't let you have that second cupcake? I've been here for years and stuff like this is the reason I don't post much. I do appreciate the other guys though, giving some good answers. My point is, I can see a coach telling us that he needs to get his team prepared maybe once a season, but it's getting a little scary between telling us that and that the team still needs to learn fundamentals. Interesting. I've heard of a back-handed compliment, where maybe Chan's giving a back-handed self criticism. Great point.
  18. I think this is a legitimate question. It seems as though for the last three or four press conferences, Chan has been blaming himself for the losses. Telling us that it's his job to get the players ready and he's not getting the job done. Is he saying that to: A) Give the office an excuse to fire him? B) Protect his players (and coaches) from getting critized by the media about their lack of skill? C) Covering for his boss, Buddy and some poor draft choices? I know (and appreciate) he's a square shooter and I really want do like him, but if he continues not to like himself--why should I bother?
  19. Yeah I agree, we're not as bad as the stats say. I know in the past they kept Trent in as QB for too many games and then CJ and Marshawn as starting running backs for too long I was just thinking that they waited to pull the trigger on Shawne and now that they had to sit him they realize that he was holding us back. There were a lot of factors involved and it will take a few weeks to see how this all plays out.
  20. I was just wondering what your take was on today's defense. Is Washington's Offensive line that weak for the Bills to dominate like they did or was Shawne Merriman holding us back? Is the linebacker by committee approach they took today that good? A little of both? Was it because they had an extra week to prepare?
  21. Apparently the Jets just go to the "M"'s on their roster and realized he was still there. Link
  22. Or go to Dave & Busters at the Mall in Concord (North of Charlotte) there's usually three of us there yelling, hollering, drinking a few beers and having a good time....not necessarily in that order of course.
