I see your point and I really do agree. I understand the act of publicly transforming from a man to a woman is heroric and is award worthy.
What I have an issue with is that I felt the entire night was a huge publicity stunt. ESPN ran teasers every commercial for her award and left it until the end of the night as they knew they would get big ratings as it was Caitlyn's "first" public appearance.
Secondly, what offended me most is they made it all into a big PR move for Caitlyn. She didnt walk the red carpet, didnt speak to anyone.
In fact, she didnt even take her seat in the audience until the commercial break right before they announced her award.

I agree to a certain extent....
Jenner got a ton of money to do the I am Cait show, and I dont think cashing in on the experience makes him/her a hero

THANK YOU!
He CHOSE to become a woman
Jim didnt choose to get cancer, lose half his jaw, get reconstructive surgery, and eat through a tube in his stomach.
Bruce on the other hand, decided to do a TV special, and his own new reality show

I lost all respect for the ESPY's when they gave the Arthur Ash award to Caitlyn Jenner instead of Jim Kelly
There is no way what he/she went through was more scary than the battle Jim faced

TIL Cristiano Ronaldo funded the education of a 7 y.o. survivor of the horrific 2004 tsunami in Indonesia. The boy was found 21 days after the disaster, alone and wearing a Portuguese national football team jersey. The boy grew up to be a football player and was signed by Sporting Lisbon last year

For me its pretty simple.
I look at the following things.
1. The division they are in. --Do they regularly play against top competition?
2. How long did they play?-- Are they a one year wonder?
3. Are they consistent?--How are their stats over the 3-4 years?--Is there any drop off or are the numbers similar?
4. Measurements--Do they fit the part? Can their frame handle the toll the NFL takes on a player.
