Meh, that stuff doesn't bother me so much. QBs are often full of themselves and cocky--that was Jim Kelly to a tee. As I've said on the board a few times, what I worry about with Rosen is whether or not he's committed to football. He is extremely intelligent and has multiple other focuses besides football (economics, politics, etc.), so I would need to be convinced that he isn't simply using football to make enough money to pursue those endeavors (not that I would blame him or knock his character for that; I simply wouldn't want to make the investment in moving up and drafting him if that were the case). For example: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2722587-josh-rosen-qa-ucla-qb-on-injuries-ncaa-and-post-nfl-goal-to-own-the-world "I want to get my MBA. I want to create my own business. When I'm finished with football, I want a seamless transition to life and work and what I've dreamed about doing all my life. I want to own the world. "

Not even close... Though the best movie fight scene ever, by a country mile, is Andi and Rama vs. Mad Dog in The Raid: Redemption

As you know Gunner, yours is one of the mocks to which I pay the most attention. Great stuff as always! A few of my own opinions: - I share your sentiment that Chubb is the #1 player on my board; him dropping outside of the top-5 would be astonishing IMO - I think Orlando Brown is going to drop. He's so physically imposing, and he got away with being an average athlete in college, but I think low-built speed rushers will eat him alive in the NFL, and ultimately I think that drops him a bit. - I also have Cortland Sutton falling out of round 1. Good player; maybe even a great player. I think his relative lack of athleticism in comparison to guys like Ridley, Cain, and Washington will drop him to day 2. - You pulled a "bandit" and crossed up a name--the Texas OT is Connor Williams (Connor McDermott is on Buffalo's practice squad)...as I said last week--too many years of idiosyncratic draft prep can do that to a guy Just FYI--Lamar to LAC at 17 was going to be my McCaffrey-to-Carolina pick for this year, but you went ahead and hosed that up for me...again.

AJ McCarron wins grievance vs Bengals, is UFA

I didn't say that Taylor would want to go there; you brought that up. Again though, since you did, I'll opine: if you're Taylor, and a team that wants to pay you as a low-end starter or bridge option, then you probably go there instead of signing for less money as a backup. -

Well, that post you quoted was in reference to McCarron. But since you mentioned it, I think Arizona would be a good fit for Tyrod, since they may want a veteran that won't kill them for a year or two. -
I think they're very likely to re-sign Leonard Johnson. The bigger concern is depth behind their top 3 IMO

Gil Brandt: Best Fits for the Top Free Agents

Star would be quite the departure from the way they've operated thus far...he'll be over-valued on the UFA market. -

Hubbard is, IMO, a better fit at guard than tackle. If they pay Fleming anything above the league-minimum, then they haven't been paying attention IMO. Fuller would be a huge get, but he's going to get PAID IMO. -

The best situation for him would be either Denver or Arizona IMO. Denver has a top-5 pick to beef up their OL or run game and two very productive WRs; Arizona has David Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, and a GM that's willing to spend on talent. -

That's something to consider as well; IMO, that could easily be passed off by McCarron's camp by pointing to the fact that the Browns have Kizer and two top-5 picks, so they have no need to be aggressive with a QB in FA. -

Pass. Great player when he's motivated, but too many off-field issues and on-field lapses for me. I'll go the value route and sign either DaQuan Jones or Justin Ellis. -

Not sure--if I were McCarron, I'm guessing that I'm not going to get the contract this offseason based upon my NFL body of work, so what I'm looking to do is put myself in the best situation to produce. If I can play for a coach where I know the offense, and put myself in a position where I can potentially be on the UFA market again next offseason, that's pretty much ideal. -
It varies. Mrs. Bandit and I are in an egg share with local organic farms, so we've had all colors/types. White, off-white, yellow, blue, green, pink...and they all taste exactly the same The thing to look for, IMO, is the color of the yolk--it should be a deep, dark orange, which is indicative of a hen that's foraged for insects and worms.

Players like familiarity, and he played for Hue Jackson for 2 seasons in Cincinnati. Cleveland also has a ridiculous amount of cap room, and can afford to give him a front-loaded deal that doesn't hurt them down the road if they cut ties with him. Plus, he'd have a great opportunity to start. -
Why I would be happy with Lamar Jackson
thebandit27 replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think you're having a very hard time following the discussion that we're having. The above story is nice, and it adds some context to Ferguson's career. It does not, however mean that he's got more experience, or even more valuable experience, playing the QB position than Lamar Jackson, which (along with your claim of his superior leadership ability) was the bone that I picked with your post. I'll say again: you're welcome to your opinion on Ferguson, Jackson, and every other QB in this class. I only took issue with a fact-based argument that was inaccurate. Hopefully this clears things up for you. -

Swing and a miss I never once criticized your evaluation; everyone's entitled to an opinion. I said that your claims of certain players' superior experience and leadership were incorrect and unfounded, respectively -
Agreed...unless a few stragglers like Deonte and Wright fetch more dollars than we expect, the trio of Matthews/Brown/Gaines is pretty much it for CFAs lost

thebandit27 replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No, you claimed that two players with fewer starts than Jackson had more experience, which isn't even an opinion; it's flat-out wrong. You also claimed that they were better leaders without providing any substance Lastly, you decided that I simply look at numbers and don't actually watch these guys, which is both pompously presumptuous and ludicrous. But yeah, it's not you, it's me -
Yeah I drew the wrong file from the mental archives Too many years of idiosyncratic draft prep will do that to a dude

Keep offering up your assessment of whether or not I actually watch these guys without doing a scintilla of research It would take all of 2 minutes of looking into the archives to see the draft prep I put together every year for the last decade on this board But you're in too many of a hurry to prove your superiority to yourself Maybe there's someone on the board that's impressed by it... -

I don't think that's a problem. It's not 2017 by any stretch, but I think you'll see at least 4-5 corners go in the 1st this year.
