  1. I was hesitant to put Brown in round 1 prior to the combine because he labors to get his feet moving laterally and gets eaten up by low-built edge rushers and guys that have decent ability to bend the corner. I coach power lifters, so (hopefully this doesn't come off as pompous) I know a thing or two about length:strength ratio and leverage points. This is a dude that hasn't been putting the time in at the gym. Period. There's no excuse for a guy that weighs 35 lbs less than him and has longer arms (Oregon's Tyrell Crosby) to put up 3 more reps than him. No real deal-breakers for me Vea is going to leave scouts drooling this week. Payne packing on the size is nice to see, but he's already acquitted himself really well as a run defender; it's whether or not he can give you that inside push as a pass rusher that's the question (I feel like we say that about the Alabama down linemen every year). If my boy Rasheem Green shows well in the 20-s and 3-cone, he's going to jump to round 1. 2. IMO his one chance to show that he belonged in the NFL as a tackle was to look like he had the dominant level of strength to drive guys off the ball. Instead, he looks uncommonly weak. He already looks too big and lumbering to handle any EDGE guys that have decent bend...I may be over-stating it, but he could be in for a monumental fall if he doesn't look smooth as silk tomorrow.
  3. He is going to destroy the combine
  4. How many reasons do you want? 1) The corner is 5 years younger 2) The corner plays a position that is in higher demand 3) The actual cap hit of the corner's contract is $4.25M

  6. That's where I've had him going for a while now. IMO, the NY team shocker will be when the Giants take Josh Allen at No. 2 overall.
  7. I could see losing a rep or two for every inch of arm length--we talk about changing leverages in our gym all the time (mostly due to changes in chest circumference when gaining/losing weight); 14 is pitiful for a 6'7-1/2", 345-pound man. I compare him to Tyrell Crosby, who's 35 lbs lighter and has longer arms, yet did 3 more reps.
  8. I see you, Will Hernandez... Dane Brugler‏Verified account @dpbrugler FollowFollow @dpbrugler More Will Hernandez with 37 on the bench
  9. I would assume it's because 225 is a standard strength benchmark. If you're a college football player, and you can't rep out 225 lbs, then you haven't been hitting the gym. Case-in-point: I'm not a football player, and even at my lightest (I competed in the 148-lb class last August) I can blast out reps of 225 first thing in the morning.
  10. Adios to the 1st round for Orlando Brown... 6'8", 360 lbs, and 14 bench reps? Dude, I get that the arms are long, but that's just pitiful For context, Tyrell Crosby is 35 lbs lighter with longer arms and did 3 more than that...and to me, that's understandable. Crosby isn't girthy, and you can only push so much with super-long arms.
  11. Bicep tendon Also, some early bench press numbers for OLmen: Q. Nelson - 35 K. Miller - 24 C. Okorafor - 19 B. O'Neill - 22 S. Quessenberry - 25 F. Ragnow - 26
  12. As I said elsewhere, it'd be 2 years, $10M, with a $7M signing bonus and a 2018 base salary of the vet minimum. That gives him an AAV that's higher than both Domata Peko and Brandon Mebane--33 year old DTs with zero pro bowls between them that average $3.75M and $4.5M, respectively.
  13. I wasn't throwing shade at the OP, I was pointing out that this had been coming for a while.
  14. Another trade option that I've mentioned on this board would be LAC WR Travis Benjamin. They have Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, Tyrell Williams (assuming they tender him as a RFA), and Hunter Henry under contract as their top 4 options in the passing game (assuming Antonio Gates retires or moves on), and they can shed $4.5M of cap space if they move TB. That's without considering that Melvin Gordon caught 58 passes last year. Benjamin has been productive in the past, has been mostly healthy over the last 4 seasons, and would bring the speed element that Buffalo lacks.
  15. No need...he's ESB and that's all there is to say about it
  16. Watch this kid's drills carefully...if he puts up mid-4.5 speed and shows some short-area quickness (20-s and 3-cone) and explosion (broad and vertical), he'll end up a round-2 guy.
  17. I have him as my WR4 right now behind Ridley, Washington, and Sutton. I liken him to Reed because he reminds me of a RB playing WR. He's compact, low-cut, tough, and has good short-area quickness. I don't really see a gear beyond his initial breakout speed, and I don't see him being much of a red zone threat without the size or explosiveness to challenge coverage in tight quarters. He's a day-2 guy for me.
  18. Very solid cap numbers
  19. I think that's just a bit low for him--I have him as a day 3 guy; rounds 4/5

  23. No...but out of necessity (because you have zero warm bodies at DT other than Washington, who sucks) I do it anyway
  24. The key, IMO, will be reducing his role by bringing in two other starting-level DTs.
