  1. Gotta have a reliable pass rush for that.
  2. This would mean no Siran Neal IMO
  3. They CAN play in year 1; they just have to make a 53 man roster. I think the rule makes sense. If these guys want the best shot at making it in the NFL, they're going to need time to transition. A full year on the PS to learn the game, in the same environment, without having to worry about change of scenery, will be huge for his development. Nothing else could increase his chances of making an NFL roster next year more IMO.
  4. I think he's meaning someone that can play this year if a RB gets hurt.
  5. I don't worry as much about the OL because Greggo's teams have often been flummoxed by QBs that can get the ball out quickly to shifty WRs. But if Allen isn't in rhythm, then yeah, the importance of the OL holding up gets magnified.
  6. I think it has the potential to be a very competitive game. The Jets have a lot of talent at the skill positions (TE excluded). By now you all know that I was a Robby Anderson guy from his Temple days (the bowl game in which he handled then-Houston corner William Jackson sold me for good). Enunwa can make plays down the field, and Crowder is a shifty inside slot guy. Their top 2 RBs are as good a tandem as you'll find outside of Cleveland. We've studied Darnold enough to know him well. He can make any throw and he's athletic. The key with him is taking advantage of his mistakes with the football and committing to covering longer on broken plays. Their OL can be had. The OTs aren't great pass protectors, and who knows how much Osemele (who I loved by the way) and Kalil have left in the tank. Defensively, they're on year 184 in a row without anything resembling an EDGE threat (or at least it feels that way). The front 3 are solid, but the corner group is lackluster for my taste. Buffalo will need to be very effective at pressuring Darnold and staying sticky in the secondary. Offensively, Allen needs to stay in rhythm and let his WRs win their 1-on-1 matchups. My biggest concern is that the game could come down to special teams. Because our coverage units are generally terrible.
  7. Hah! In general, if you get to QB3, you're probably in trouble, but having a guy in the fold that's got experience running a pro style offense and can get the ball out quickly is probably as good as you can reasonably hope for.
  8. Wow. Well done Shady. Really. Good form.
  9. I like the Davis Webb pickup. He's probably as good an option for a disaster backup as you'll find at this point
  10. Clearly he agreed to sign his tender because Seattle agreed not to tag him again next offseason. That said, Houston looks just awful for this trade.
  11. LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
  12. Not 2018 Wisniewski. He was brutal.
  13. Maybe. But again, the blanket approach of "don't invest in RBs" is an oversimplification at best Absolutely
  14. Not when they paid Lamar Miller they weren't
  15. Ok good. It was a late night that ended with a few beverages, and I'm a light weight now, so who knows if I'm making sense at this point.
  16. I suspect they'll find someone better. Tyree just did not look good at all.
  17. I'm confused...isn't that the exact point I was making?
  18. I happen to think that there's no one way to build a winner. If you've already got a QB you can win with, and a solid OL, and you think that a breakaway RB is the final piece, then sure. If you're the 2017 Giants, and you are more or less starting from scratch, then no, you don't take Saquon #2 overall.
  19. 31 IIRC Also not the point. Point is, I keep hearing people say that RBs aren't worth investing in, but I see teams like NE and Seattle spending 1st rounderd on them, the Rams and Texans paying big salaries to them, etc. We aren't talking about poorly-managed bottom feeder teams here.
  20. Reed had about 30 tackles and 1.5 sacks per season before his breakout last season, one in which he scored a lot of cleanup sacks thanks to guys like Clark and Ford applying pressure.
  21. Like I said: Duke just didn't show enough in games for other teams to be hot after him. The Bills, on the other hand, saw him in practice every day for 3 months. If they wanted him in the PS, they had the inside track all along.
  22. Is that what I said? Try addressing the point at hand
  23. Jarran Reed was ok as a rookie; though I thought I saw that he fell out of favor recently. Wagner is great. You need more than he and Clowney though
  24. They signed multiple FA RBs in back to back off-seasons. They drafted a RB in the first round They went from a pass blocking LT to a run blocking mauler. While the rest of the league was going pass happy, NE loaded up to railroad teams with the run...and won a Super Bowl doing it
