  1. Don't you think you're being more than a bit presumptuous here? It's completely normal for my kids to say "dad, my favorite Tae Kwon Do teacher is Mr. [Smith]", and when I ask "cool, which one is Mr. Smith?", for him to say "he's the one with brown skin". My kid is 6, and that's by far the easiest way to identify the teacher he's talking about. And yes, this is a real life example. That's not weird, and it's not labeling Mr. [Smith] in a dangerous way no matter how hard someone might try to be offended by it. Ya think? See post I just responded to...
  2. Dude...it's totally normal for people to observe the color of someone's skin. It's NOT normal for people to treat others with disrespect because of the color of their skin. I don't think there's anything slippery about either of those statements.
  3. To be fair, last year it was Shady running into Ducasse for -1...no holding required
  4. He removes any mystery as to why that's called a "whip" route
  5. If I were them, I'd be trying to run right at Oliver as much as possible. Try to wear him down in his first NFL game, and do so as early as possible. What you don't want to do is let the Bills get you into 3rd and long situations and let Oliver (and Hughes and Murphy) be able to use their speed advantage, because that would have the opposite effect.
  6. My kids always describe the way a person looks when I ask them to tell me about the people that they meet. He's tall. She's short. He has brown skin. Being able to describe the way a person looks is totally normal. It would be really, really weird if kids didn't observe those things.
  7. Unless he shows a miraculous turnaround from his injury, yeah, you have to think he's a goner.
  8. "Make the new guys puke" time should've been over back in training camp. You're prepping for a real game now, Greggggggggggg. Perhaps it'd be a good idea not to tire out your team before the most tiring game of the year? Just a thought...
  9. Hopefully he's running routes by himself on Sunday, while active against the Jets
  10. Did you already forget 2018? https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/los-angeles-rams/todd-gurley-16734/
  11. I refuse to be offended by the fact that people have different cultures and backgrounds.
  12. Who. Cares. It's clear what he means: he's a white kid that Dawkins can relate to, and apparently he feels that it's not all that common for a black kid from Jersey and a white kid from Cali to relate like that. Is Josh a white kid? Yes. Is he "swaggy"? Apparently. Ergo, he is a swaggy white kid. I'll bet you any amount of money that Josh read that quote and thought "whoa, cool". I'm a white dude. If someone calls me a white dude (which happens by the way, because--get this--I'm a white dude), do you know what my reaction is? It's "that's true, I am a white dude".
  13. I remember Collinsworth talking about this in the TNF opener last year. He said that by the 3rd quarter of week 1, you're as exhausted as you've ever been. I cannot imagine for a guy like Bell what it's going to be like. They're going to have to work in Montgomery quite a bit I'd imagine.
  14. Really all depends upon the leverage that the deep safety is playing. Unless you're talking Ed Reed or Earl Thomas, there's a really good chance that--assuming the QB puts him in conflict early in the route--he's going to show his cards by turning his hips. At that point the ball comes out to whichever WR is on the other side. It's most likely going to be the guy running the fade route because that corner has the sideline to help limit the WR's space, but defenders do funny things when the pressure is on.
  15. No, no way. I expect that they'll put Darryl Roberts on Brown since he's the only guy that they have who's sub-4.4 and has decent recovery speed. You can figure that they'll use inside combo coverages to try to limit Beasely; I sincerely doubt that they'll let Poole go 1-1 with him. I'd expect that Adams will play an integral role in closing off space for Beasley to work inside. My guess is that Trumaine draws Zay Jones or whoever is on the other boundary. It would probably be a good idea to put Foster in several times and see if he can draw a 1-1 matchup with Trumaine, because that's a huge opportunity to smoke him deep. I'd run mirror routes with Foster on a deep post and Brown on a fade. Assuming Maye has center-field duties, it's up to Josh to put him in conflict and get enough air under the ball. Big opportunities in the deep passing game if we're willing to take our shots.
  16. I understand the skepticism, but let's remember that we've seen folks join this board and end up providing reliable info in the past. Of course, we've seen the other kind too...I guess I'm saying that we should give the newcomer the benefit of the doubt for now. If he's full of it, he'll get the ban hammer soon enough.
  17. ...then he'll have about 900 yards and 7 TDs, and will have been worth every penny they paid.
  18. It's just a guess, but I think they want to see if Ford can survive the baptism-by-fire at OT well enough to keep him there all year. Like I said at draft time: Ford is a guy that you draft hoping that he can play OT, but knowing that he can play guard.
  19. Hah! Yeah, once. I was in a serious drought during college, and made the mistake of going out with a girl from Niagara Falls a few times. She was really good-looking and liked me a lot, so I figured I could do a lot worse to end the drought. Then, after 2-3 dates, the crazy started to emerge. Turned out she was not only a cutter, but a stalker too. When she figured out that I was about to break things off, she secretly stashed her house keys in my glove compartment so that she had an excuse to see me again. I made her meet me in public to get them back, and I brought a friend...and she showed up with her hair all chopped up (and dyed), about a half-dozen new piercings, and waaaaaaaaaaaaay more makeup than I've ever seen her wear. I gave her the keys and got the heck out of there. Years later, I was at a cruise night event in the Falls and she saw me (from like 100 yards away)...she came up to me and basically said "let's go to your car"...my word, the crazy was strong.
  20. The Jets don't really have any one EDGE player that worries me; I was speaking more in a general sense. However, I do think that there exists the potential for Gregggggggggg to throw some twists/stunts/overloads at Ford that he won't adjust to anywhere near as well as a guy like Nsekhe would.
  21. I am very nervous about Ford at RT. I think he needs more time to get his EDGE protection game up to snuff. I would definitely start him out at RG with Nsekhe at RT. Plus, I think that combination is a clear and obvious upgrade over Mongo at RG and Ford at RT.
  22. My personal word would've been "Cowboy" The dude is just such a freaking cowboy out there.
  23. Meh, if you're him, and you're looking for an NFL job, and you know the Pegulas are sensitive to all things homegrown, why not have some fun with it and ping them every chance you get?
