I worked there pre-pegula. Out of college, entry level. It is awful. Low salary, long hours, treated poorly. They knew that once I was fed up and left, there would instantly be 400 applicants. It felt like all promotion opportunities were already set. If I stayed I could have probably carved a career in sports.... but the work was exhausting, my friends all made more $, and the mental pressure my managers would put on me caused permanent damage. I had yearly performance reviews with russ brandon, lol. There were some cool things... like receiving a chocolate football from ralph and mary, getting a picture frame and christmas card from the Gregg William's family, 45 yard line season tickets I couldnt use, and sipping gin at a christmas party with drew bledsoe. With that said, typically the VPs and higher execs seemed to have it much better. At that time, the "marketing department" was way way more than 3 people.

My one that gets me yelled at is that I believe Lee Evans was vastly overrated

Im willing to just forgive and forget.... but Id imagine his employers (Fox and the Reds) are pretty furious

Buffalo.... as I say with most things.... needs a couple Fortune 500 companies to headquarter downtown. MLB games are largely a downtown happy hour day-to-day now. A fun social event. With business and people downtown, attendance would be great! Baseball has roots here, but it is aging. People arent going to keep driving from Grand Island and Lancaster and Amherst 81 days a year in Year 5 of a team that is fringe or worse. Personally though, I would go every time my schedule allows! The economics of MLB are shot, but I feel like we may be heading closer to their 'apocolypse' where they convert to some real revenue sharing and also tie players salaries capped to league revenues. That would crack the door open for Buffalo.... but see above. They would be competing with Charlotte, Nashville, Montreal, Vegas, Portland, Austin, San Antonio, Oklahoma City, etc for a franchise. You also need the television market as so much money is generated from the Regional Broadcast deals. Obviously we don't have that. So I guess, we will need a nice uptick in our local economy and downtown demographic with a bit more bells and whistles downtown. Or, we would need professional baseball to deconstruct and go to a Promotion/Relegation system (which IMO would be amazing for the sport).

I think the NHL's lottery system wasnt that bad 10-15 years ago. It was really confusing, but there was a cap on how far a team could move up.

I have said it all along. I strongly believe it is the Patriots over Brady. Brady IS a special QB who was able to execute in every situation and run the offense and such... but I dont think he is not replaceable there. On the flip-side, I dont think his skills, especially at this age, are sustainable outside the New England bubble.

I listened a few times with Glab on, and it was a bit... rough. She isnt refined enough to be on-air to carry 50% of the load over 15 hours a week. I think she is fine with the online media quick-hit features and such.

Apparently, Chris Brown has been named full time host with Tasker. Unsure what that means for Glab. I think Chris Brown is pretty alright.

I would bet this redbird capital thing spent most of the money. The rock probably got in with very favorable terms to provide headlines and be the face of ownership

I dont think a pro league will survive unless the NFL wants it to, and they will serve markets they feel are best in their own interests.

Sports Time Ohio for the Indians. I got it when I had Directv. Im sure the Pirates RSN is on there. If you have Spectrum or whatever, there is no channel to get them. Another annoying thing, is when those teams are on ESPN, MLB Network, etc on a non-exclusive game.... those are blacked out. I currently have Hulu Live. They DO have Sportstime Ohio which is great. I watch the Indians. They have Yes and SNY too I believe. The Pirates' RSN which is owned by AT&T I think is only available on "FUBO" TV for streaming. I would probably watch some Pirates games and my kid always asks for their games when we are looking for games to watch. They Do not have MSG though so I dont need to suffer through Sabres games at least. I also subscribe to MLB TV. It is pretty annoying I cant get all that under one umbrella. At the very least, if I get the team's home station, let me input a code or something so I can have access to the games in the MLB TV interface.

Its all about the TV deals and making the best situation for the giant Telecom companies. Sports are the last holdout for the Directv's and Comcasts of the world. Without forcing locals to subscribe to watch their local teams, they would probably have little to no subscription base. Instead of innovate and adapt, they just try to milk the consumer and leverage their somehow legal racketeering territories. So in Buffalo, we are in the viewing area of Cleveland, Toronto, Pittsburgh, Mets, and Yankees.

I would dive right into the Patriots' conspiracy stuff, thinking its an easy ploy to get the franchise QB..... But these players are losing a lot of $ doing this. I cant imagine they really care that Belichick can maybe draft his QB of the future next Spring. Now if these guys pop up as paid consultants for Bob Kraft at their NFL salaries, then I will have a problem

I dont doubt that Watson is really good. I just wouldnt put him on the 'team on his back every week' category that they have of Brees, Mahomes, Rodgers, Wilson.

The only thing that stands out to me is Watson in the top tier.

we did the credit with possible ticket access. Fairly pleased with the options they provided given the circumstance.... depending on how a potential ticket sale rollout is handled.

well that settles it.... well I guess it will be settled when the NFL awards the Patriots compensatory picks

Even for minor league she is starting to show her age. I think it is the oldest or second-oldest ballpark in the International League, and the 3rd-oldest in AAA baseball (makes you feel old!). I feel like neither the Rich family or the City of Buffalo has done too much as far as upgrades go. You could see the place showing its age. So I'm not sure it is even a high standard for AAA anymore. Some of the newer ballparks like Columbus, Charlotte, and Indianapolis look amazing.

The Amerks were.... OK. Murray to a point, and Botterill much moreso were big AHL guys. The Amerks' performance was driven by a lot of players who wont see more than a desperate callup to the NHL a few times in their lives. They have been lacking in prospect contributors as the last 2 Sabres GMs have been horrific at asset management, drafting, and developing players. Rochester has had a few good regular seasons, but failed to win a playoff... game.
