  1. Wrong. There are 4 #'s that will never be worn again for the Bills- 12, 32, 34 and 78
  2. Wait, I though Maybin was a bust and the Bills should have drafted Orakpo based on his performance in a pre-season game and the Bills had no idea what they were doing?
  3. I want to make clear for the record what it is I'm calling, so when we wake up on September 15th, the top thread on the page will read, "I told you so." I am saying that the Bills offense will look exponentially more in sync than it has in the pre-season (at least 21 pts., at least 300-350 yards and not garbage time points and yards) and it will be a competitive football game. That's all. If the Bills look as miserable as 95% of you think they will because the pre-season is, of course, a nearly flawless indicator as to how a team is going to perform in the regular season, then I will concede that the collective you (the royal you) was in fact correct and I was wrong.
  4. Whoops. Don't read my last post then. Thanks for having my back though, I'm just psyched for the season man!
  5. Dude the Bills very well may suck, you guys are more than likely right. I'm just not ready to say it's signed, sealed and delivered that they're gonna suck. So if the Bills play well on Monday night, I just want to reserve the right to say I told you so, well all of you can say, "gee Metzelaars, you were right and I was wrong." I know it's kind of the only defense at this point, but I genuinely do put a lot less stock in the pre-season than most of you. Is there anybody out there that's feelin me? Are you all really a bunch of Jerry from Lackawannas or Carl from Lockports that call into WGR with that nasally Buffalo accent on a dreary, grey Tuesday afternoon while eating artery-clogging food in sweatpants and complain about the Bills just because it's part of what you're supposed to as a Buffalonian when they haven't even played a game yet?
  6. I told you so, after the season opener. I am so sick of the g*ddamn negativity on this board, in the media, etc. because of a few pre-season games. Have they looked bad? Of course. But I've been watching football long enough to know that the pre-season is not always a perfect indicator as to how a team is going to show up and play in Week 1. If they march down the field and score a TD in their first drive, then all of this time you people have spent whining and complaining will have been for naught. I live in Denver- do you have any idea how bad the Broncos are going to suck this year? Everyone says on here, "we'll lucky to win five games this year." Then how many are the Broncos going to win? Our talent level is so ridiculously superior to theirs. But I digress. I'm not predicting a victory in Week 1, but I am predicting that the offense will look a lot better than it has in the stupid pre-season and we will put up a hell of a fight on national TV. Now all I wanna know is, who's comin with me...
  7. I make a full movement to forfeit the season. Maybe the next two seasons. Fire the entire coaching staff, cut all the veterans. This team, this franchise- it's a complete joke and always will be. The Bills are the only team in all of football that doesn't have their act together. All the other teams know exactly what they're doing and we're clueless! They will be lucky to win three games this season. Every year the pre-season is a perfect indicator as to how good the teams are going to be and this season is no different. It's pretty much an exact science. I'm done with these guys for good, there's no point in even watching the opener. I'm not even the least bit curious as to how they're going to look in the regular season, because the pre-season tells all.
  8. I think about and talk about the Bills every day of the year. I am obsessed with the Buffalo Bills. My first game was in 1985 and I have been to at least one Bills game every year since. I have seen them in seven different cities, have been to over 100 games including the greatest comeback. That being said, if you think Bills fans are the class of the NFL, you either a) haven't been to many games recently or b) haven't been to other stadiums. Loyal? Absolutely. Can drink in excess? I'd rank them first in the league. However, you can lump Buffalo in with Oakland and Philly as far as the stadiums where I would least recommend wearing a rival jersey.
  9. Listen pal, I understand the distinction. The bottom line is that a pre-season is very rarely a foreshadowing of things to come. By Week 2, the pre-season will be a distant memory. Am I skeptical about this team? You'd have to be an idiot not to be. But if the Bills march down the field and score a TD on their first drive at NE, then the whole pre-season becomes moot and all the hours you people have spent bitching and complaining will have been for naught.
  10. Do you remember how poor the Bills played in the preseason during the Levy/Kelly era? Someone might have to correct me on this, but I believe the Bills won three games between 1990-1993. Let's wait and see what happens at New England, WITH T.O. That being said, your son isn't going to see a team like the 1990 Bills, one way or another.
  11. Yeah, let's cut our two best special teams players. Good idea.
  12. Agreed, everything HBO does is unparalleled. If anyone on here has yet to see the documentary on the boxing match where the guy takes the padding out of his glove, make sure and watch it ASAP- it should be on demand still. The Ted Williams documentary was unbelievable, the new Real Sports with the interview with Nick Schuyler is unbelievable... How bad does it suck that they got rid of Inside the NFL? Although I must admit, I grew up watching Bunochonti (sp?) and Dawson, so the new crew wasn't the same, but still the best NFL programming in the business.
  13. Best show on television, bar none. How insane would it be if they did a Hard Knocks on the Bills one of these seasons? How cool are Carson Palmer and Tank Williams? How sick of Chad Johnson would you get if he was on your team yappin every day?
  14. I am on the Steve Johnson loveboat, for what it's worth. I think he'll be starting for this team in a year or two.
  15. Oh my God. Dude I was hoping they'd bust em out on Thanksgiving a couple years ago, but they pussed out. November 8th vs. the Packers, it's on... When I was a kid in the 80's, my two favorite teams were the Bucs and the Canucks because of their uniforms and now everyone says those are like the two worst uniforms ever. To this day I wholeheartedly disagree http://www.everyjoe.com/emqb/tag/tampa-bay-bucs-throwbacks/
  16. I take it all back. If they looked better in the pre-season against Tennessee than the Bills did, then I'm sure they'll be good. Sorry about that. And as far as what I know about the Bucs- where do you want me to start? Steve Spurrier, Steve DeBerg, Kevin House, LeRoy Selmon, Ricky Bell, Jimmie Giles, Vinny Testaverde, Craig Erickson, Reggie Cobb, Mark Carrier, Donald Iguwebeke (sp?), James Wilder, Paul Gruber- if you ask me, they should go back to the orange and red.
  17. And don't tell me that if they had marched down the field and scored in each of the three pre-season games then everyone on here wouldn't be predicting playoffs!
  18. They were 7-9 last year (granted, against an easier schedule than this year appears to be). They have a very young team and lost only one player of any significance (Greer was good, but McKelvin will be better this year). Aside from Peters, the rest of the offensive line could/should be improved. Hangartner should be a marginal upgrade, Wood should be a significant upgrade right away and Brad Butler was pretty good against the run last year and is going back to his natural position. They added TO, which should open things up. Poz looks like did a bunch of steroids in the offseason, which should help him improve. I'm excited about adding something new to the ridiculously stale three-white man DE rotation and I expect Maybin and/or Ellis to contribute this year. OLB is a question mark, but I think Harris will win the job by Week 2. Overall, the defense was already average last year (with zero pass rush) and has another year of experience under their belts. They certainly have one of the better CB groups in all of football. Not to mention the best special teams in all of football. Bottom line is, I live in Denver and the original post basically grouped the Bills in the same category as the Broncos and that's simply not being objective. The Broncos had an historically bad defense last year and now, are in complete and utter disarray on offense as well. Maybe if people didn't live in a Bills bubble all the time, they would realize that, especially in this era of FA, every team has question marks and isn't locked and loaded at every position. Dude, the Bucs are gonna absolutely suck this year. Peace I'm outta here.
  19. The cynicism on this board regarding the upcoming Bills season based on a few pre-season games in unfathomable! Jacksonville, Denver, Tampa Bay- do you really think these teams are going to be better than the Bills this year? What if they had played really well against Green Bay last week, would people be picking them to go to the playoffs? THE LIONS WON ALL FOUR PRE-SEASON GAMES LAST YEAR!
