  1. The funny thing is, when Schopp used to be on WNSA FM back when I still lived in Buffalo, he was awesome. Then for whatever reason, he became this miserable douche after he switched over to WGR
  2. Man those were the days. I don't live in Buffalo anymore but I listen to some of the guys on wgr's website. Why does everybody take everything so seriously now? Schopp and Jeremy White in particular, they sound like dicks. Incidentally, there used to be a show on saturdays called Pet Talk that we pranked as well. But there will never be another Art Wander.
  3. Art's the kind of guy who doesn't fool around He knows all the sports, he knows every town Basketball, baseball, football, hockey and mo' From Calgary to Boston and of course Buffalo They call him Art Wander, yeah Art Wander He gets around, around, around... I have an old tape that a friend recently converted to CD of unbelievable prank calls we used to make Art and Chuck Dickerson. Good stuff. My aliases included Mohammed from Pakistan, Clarence from Clarence and Jamal from the East Side
  4. I went to Bills-Seahawks in 2004. Been to six NFL stadiums and I will rank them in order of passion/noise/tailgating: 1a. Buffalo (100+) 1b. Kansas City (twice) 3. San Diego 4. Denver (twice) 5. Seattle 6. Miami (twice) Huge drop off after KC, San Diego fans are OK, Denver fans are so weak and think they're sweet (10,000 no shows this year vs. the Bills, not a cloud in the sky in a game where if they won, they would've won the AFC West), Seattle fans are soft and fluffy, but are nice and will tell you all day that it's a Mariners town, and I'm sure most of you have been to Miami- no explanation needed. I'm no Kenny, but I will say that once you've traveled to see the Bills, you finally get a perspective on how insane Bills fans are and that what happens at Rich Stadium on Sundays is not normal.
  5. Has anyone seen pictures of the Montauk Moster? How insane is that?
  6. Yeah, Chris Chandler is pretty sick. That was amazing when he came out of retirement last year- bald and all, converted to receiver and put up those numbers. Definitely in the same class as TO and Lee Evans.
  7. Yeah Steve Smith is a top 3-5 receiver in the game, no question. Brandon Marshall needs to be a lot higher as well. This list is pretty ridiculous, but it is the offseason so we have nothing better to do.
  8. When it comes to this topic, everyone seems to overanalyze the situation. Let me break it down for everyone: there are 2 ways the Bills can stay in Buffalo. No. 1 Ralph Wilson makes it happen, which he could with a snap of his fingers. No. 2 Roger Goodell has a say in the matter, which would be a little trickier but still possible. The thing that makes this the most frustrating is that the Bills aren't even close to the least profitable team in the league. I hear people act on here as if the Bills leaving is inevitable because of the economy, etc., when the reality of the situation is that we just have a stubborn owner. Golisano or whoever could buy the team and make a shitload of money right here in Buffalo on the Bills. But they could make MORE in L.A. That's the point. But one thing that has to be considered is that Buffalo is a football market. Just like Winnipeg is a hockey market. You move the Bills to LA, which is NOT an NFL market and maybe 10 years from now they're not as profitable as the Bills would have been over that time span. See: Jets moving to Phoenix...
  9. I hereby make a motion that if anyone quotes Larry the Cable Guy on here ever again, that they are permanently banned from posting on this website.
  10. For those of you who still live in Buffalo, the greatest band who's ever lived plays at the Tudor Lounge on Franklin & Tupper for free every thursday and sunday night. They are called the Jony James Blues Band (check out their website- jonyjamesband.com). They tour down south and play in front of hundreds of people, but despite being the most renowned blues band in Buffalo year after year, they still play in front of about 15-20 people at the Tudor. Anyway, the point of this is that Rueben is boys with the band and they play at the end of his motorcycle run every year. You'll also see him at the bar from time to time, he is a stand up dude for sure. I've also seen Van Pelt, Moorman, Sam Gash, Sheldon Jackson and most memorably, Sean Moran, at the Tudor rockin out to Jony James. Moran was dancing with a 300 lb. chick all night one time. Anyway, I stake my reputation on the Jony James Blues Band- check them out sometime and thank me later.
  11. You guys keep believing that athletes aren't better today. And I'm assuming if Lebron James played in the 1950's he wouldn't be any better relative to the sport than he is today, right?
  12. OK Professor Football. So the 210 lb. defensive linemen from that era would be able to get past the 315 lb. offensive linemen of today to get to the qb? Point taken on the qb protection rules of the modern era.
  13. It's so stupendous living in this tube, yes. But you're delving into extreme hypotheticals when you say, "well think of how good Otto Graham would be in 2009 if he lifted weights and drank protein shakes and was a modern conditioned athelete..." I can tell you with extereme certainty, however, that if Michael Vick played in the 1940's, people would think he wasn't even a human being. So let's just agree to compare players within their respective eras and move on, OK?
  14. If Manning played in the other eras, he would be as good as he is now: Good but not the best. I base my opinions on watching game films and talking to the players who played with/against the quarterback. Tittle would be top ten. Right now, I am undecided on who is number 5 on my list. Oh that's how good he'd be? Thanks. So the players today who are faster than ever, lift insane amounts of weights, drink protein shakes, andro, creatine, steroids, etc., etc., do absolutely ridiculous conditioning programs from the day their seasons end, study game film like it's a graduate level course wouldn't maybe have an edge on the black and white players who boozed and smoked cigars the nights before games? If you're going relative to eras that's one thing, but don't tell me guys like Michael Vick, Shawn Merriman, Barry Sanders- absolute freaks wouldn't dominate 50 years ago, you're simply sensationalizing the days of yore.
  15. Hey KRC, I appreciate the history lesson, but the designer of this post clearly intended for this to be a 1970's/80's to present coversation. How can anyone pretend to know who's better from era to era? Are you saying you're confindent that if Peyton Manning played in the 30's or 40's he wouldn't be as good as the greats from that era? Where's Y.A. Tittle on your list? Who's a better all-time goalie, Terry Sawchuck or Martin Brodeur? Baseball is the only sport where you can have an intelligent conversation comparing players from different eras. Out.
  16. 1. Tom Brady 2. Joe Montana 3. Peyton Manning 4. Steve Young 5. Dan Marino Anyone who puts Manning ahead of Brady is a bonehead. Two numbers: 3 and 1. And Brady's 3 were with half the talent. Not to mention Brady's 3 are WAY more impressive than Montana's 4. Listen, I hate Tom Brady more than anyone on here- google image "Tom Brady Stetson" if you need a reminder. But he is the greatest QB ever to lace up a pair of cleats.
  17. Shouldn't Gholston be near the top of this list, instead of at #14? Hey morons, the list is obviously in alphabetical order of the teams. Can't wait for training camp so there's actually something to talk about.
  18. Patriots Belichick Friggin Willis McGahee and Jason Peters!
  19. B.J. Raji will not be there, but yes that would piss me off. I'm going with Orakpo.
  20. I agree in so far as some people think our offensive line is going to be a complete joke and I think as long as we get one more NFL caliber body in there - we look to have six right now (Walker, Chambers, Bell, Butler, Hangartner and this new dude from Cleveland) then they should be serviceable. And by serviceable I mean below average but not abysmal. The pass rush however, was beyond abysmal last year so that should still be our first priority. That being said, I would rather wing it with Fine and Schouman than not draft an OL in the first three rounds. Thus, I would go DL, LB and OL- depending on who's available, not necessarily in that order.
  21. You talk about them like they're a band. So who put you on to them? Was it late nights all stoned with your buddies listening to old Van Miller bootlegs from the early 90's?
  22. One thing that I've never heard anyone mention throughout all this is that Parrish is actually a pretty tough receiver and has great hands. I think he was accused of dropping a TD last year (which was hotly contested on here), but other than that, I've never seen him drop a pass and I think it was in '06? I can remember him making some tough catches over the middle, taking some big hits and bouncing right back up. I guarantee you this- once he is in a functional offense, he COULD be a very effective slot receiver. Why haven't the Bills been able to get him the ball in space the last several years? They try one reverse with him a couple years ago vs. Jacksonville and nobody even touches his jersey. God forbid they try that again.
  23. I can't believe I'm seriously responding to jblack23's post, but here's a question to maybe start an intelligent discussion- how come we always draft players after the 3rd round and then the following year everyone pretends like they don't exist- ie. Derek Fine. Guy looked like he could be decent and now I hear people say, "OK we'll take care of DL, LB and OG in the first three rounds and then get a TE in the 4th." Didn't we just get a TE in the 4th last year? What makes you think a 4th rounder this year in an offense that seriously under-utilizes the TE position will be any better than Derek Fine was last year? And then I hear people say we might need to take a RB in the 4th round or so now. Didn't we just take Omon last year? Didn't he have like 5 carries last year? Why do we always assume this year's 4th round picks are gonna perform right away and just give up on last year's guys? Hopefully the Bills don't have that same mentality.
