  1. Exactly. If the voting happens during the '21 season, why wait until the start of the '22 season to release the results? Don't answer that, I know the reason, but it's still stupid. It's funny, I don't remember NFLN having to clarify in the past when the voting took place. It's obvious they know how ridiculous JA's ranking (and McCorkle being in the top 100) looks. Trevon being the highest-ranked Diggs and JC Jackson being ranked higher than his father are another couple of glaring examples.
  2. Who loves ya, baby? I spent some of the late '90s commuting between Rochester and UB for law school and would always try to time my classes so I could listen to The Coach on the way home. He knew his stuff and was entertaining.... and the organization fed it by stupidly reacting to the things he would say. Eventually they got their way and Dickerson was reassigned and later quit. And we've been stuck with Schopp in the afternoons ever since. I also liked when Mike Robitaille would come on during hockey season and talk about "Baffalo."
  3. I remember when these threads would be met immediately with "git er done." I don't miss those days.
  4. Alaska Darin, Stevestojan, John from Hemet, on and on. I smile when I see the old names. I've been around this board since its earliest incarnations. Don't post much (in the offseason especially) but have always enjoyed this community.
  5. No love for the great Anthony Gray?
  6. I don't have a problem with guys who thought on that day that we drafted the wrong Josh. (I wasn't one of them, for the record. I would have taken JA #1. But that's a debate for another time.). I have a problem with guys who continued to trash JA for years afterward because they couldn't admit they were wrong. I never got that feeling from Howard. Plus, he's a Mets fan, so that makes him okay in my book.
  7. I think I just read that the Patriots' offensive starters are not expected to play at all tonight. Not even a series.
  8. ok, so I always understood a “direct” flight to be one where you don’t have to change planes to get to your destination. They can be non-stop or they can stop seventeen times, but as long as you’re staying on the plane it’s a direct flight. I said “not JUST direct” in my post because I’m sure there’s a greater number of direct flights available between these cities than just the non-stops. I only pointed out that there are even non-stop flights available to show how ridiculous the author’s premise was. We okay now?
  9. So what do you guys want? Do you want a guy who wanted to come here just because we're a good team, give him a great chance at winning another title, and pay him the most money ... or do you want a guy who thinks hard about his decisions, is open to new information, and is ultimately sold by the GM, coaches, players, etc that this is the best place to be? The guy grew up in Texas, spent his career in Denver, and just won a title in LA. I can't begrudge him having second thoughts. A lot of guys would have turned the plane around. Or slunk away and signed elsewhere after giving a verbal commitment, like McKissic. He gave us a chance and we convinced him. I love that. Honestly, I'd be a lot madder if I were a Cowboys fan. Dallas had the chance to bring in a Hall of Famer and thought they could do it on the cheap just because they're Dallas.
  10. There are non-stop (not just direct) flights daily between Buffalo and Denver, Dallas, and LA. What other cities does he "spend a lot of time in"? Other than that, it was a great article.
  11. And yet no three game road trips, a 10-day rest after our only West Coast trip, and we don't play anyone who is coming off a bye. I think we were treated fairly. For once.
  12. That thing went what, 23 yards?
  13. Completely okay with the trade. We don’t know what Dallas was doing or who they were hearing from. And I wouldn’t trust anything Jerry says anyway. Even if we were reasonably confident we could get him at 25, why risk it? Control what you can control.
  14. Brandon as an actual NFL GM was always pure fiction.
  15. If Hamilton or possibly Williams falls to the middle of the first round, I see BBB trading up for either. If someone in their top 20 falls to 25, they'll take that guy. Otherwise, find a partner and trade back.
  16. The Jets’ interest in Deebo and the Dolphins’ trade for Hill make me think their GMs must actually think Josh is only good because he has Diggs.
  17. I always liked Peyton Manning and… and…. well, anyway, that’s one, so yeah, I probably would still be a JA fan, and I’m sticking with that story.
  18. I became a fan with the Chuck Knox teams, although my first Bills memory is watching OJ relatively late in his career. The 80-81 teams were so much fun to root for. A lot of people my age, like me, truly solidified their fandom when they went away to college (in my case New Jersey, but at a school with people from all over the country) and had to take ***** about their hometown and team from arrogant/ignorant fans in other areas of the country. The SB years for me began in the middle of that and made it that much more intense.
  19. My grandparents lived two blocks away from that road, on the Missouri side. It literally makes no difference. You could build the stadium in Kansas and have it be closer to downtown than Arrowhead is. Now, if they decided to build it out in Lawrence or something, that would be annoying.
  20. I saw Josh Allen in his last college game and I was sold. I knew his ceiling was higher than the other QBs in the draft and that’s what I wanted. I didn’t want either of the two SoCal QBs, and I thought Mayfield was overrated. As the draft approached I was almost positive JA was their guy. Watch that clip. It looks eerily familiar. Then watch this clip from his first year and point to a big play that Mac or Tua is capable of making. You can’t. Yes he was inconsistent, but the supporting cast was awful and the tools were clearly there. People who think Mac/Tua/whoever is capable of making the kinds of strides that JA has made are just whistling past the graveyard and they know it.
  21. I’m pretty sure he made the decision to retire right then and there. And for him it was the right decision. I liked Orton that year. He gave us everything he had.
  22. I would much rather defend Tyler Lockett than Tyreek Hill in that offense.
  23. I can imagine the implosion over at ChiefsPlanet right about now. 🤣
  24. Chefs are a vastly diminished threat now and the Dolphins still aren't one. Good move all around.
  25. Fair enough; I have always been a Bills fan because WNY has always been my home and because even when they weren't that good when I was small, I still got to watch OJ, but the 1980 team (when I was 11) that finally beat Miami and went to the playoffs really cemented it. That, more than anything else, carried me through the lean years of the mid-80s and then the Drought. But that's for people like you and me who became fans when we were young and impressionable. I'm talking more about the people in Connecticut who were adults when Parcells went to NE and/or when the dominance began. Those folks will go back to their old team just as soon as it gives them the faintest reason to do so.
